I have been married for 21 years, and have a 20 year old daughter and a son who will be 17 this month.
I was the leader of a woman's ministry based on Titus 2 in which older women teach younger women "good things", but due to summer activities, the attendance has dwindled down. I will probably start it back up in the fall.
I just returned from Mexico, a border town, so not all that interesting. However, we stayed in Sierra Vista and took a tour of Tombstone, Arizona. I would love to go to Israel someday.

Hey Lisa.... I just stumbled into this area recently. Didn't even know it was here until I actually read the titles on the screen. Reading...what a funny concept...;)
What are your hobbies?
Gardening has become my obsession lately. Not vegatable gardening, but flower beds and such. What a thrill to plant something and see it actually grow before your eyes. Even more exciting when it comes back the next year...means you've done well...:D
What is your occupation?
I was an Assistant Teacher for many years at my church's Preschool. Last year, I took a break while my mother was very ill and she did pass away in the Spring. Anyway, I had no plans on working for awhile, but low and behold...God had other plans. I recently took on the job of working the front desk at my church's Preschool. Funny, eh! I knew I never wanted to be back in a classroom so God placed me where I would flourish.
Family?
Me, my husband and I have 2 boys aged 12 and (almost) 10 years old.
Ministry?
Well, I guess it will back serving in my church's Preschool...:)
Interesting places you have been and Interesting places you would like to go.
We just recently out West to Arizona, Vegas, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico. Yes, we actually went to all those states....:) I live on the East Coast so I'm used to seeing grass, trees, water. I honestly thought that the scenery was going to be boring because hey...it's the desert you know. Boy, was I wrong! The scenery took my breath away at every turn in the road we made. Thank God for digital cameras cause it was always on. Me and my husband would like to go back when the kids are older and maybe out of the house.

Hi Lisa and everyone. Great Idea! :)
What are your hobbies?
Reading, Singing, Writing
What is your occupation?
Homeschool Educator (previously politics -- campaign manager & activist, and Retail -- Supervisor & Department Manager in a major discount department store)
Family?
Happily married for close to 15 years (our anniversary is on August 8th!). We have four children (all girls) aged 9-15.
Ministry?
Not at this time, as I am still church-shopping. In the past I was very active in Music ministry as a soloist, and member of my church's choir.
Interesting places you have been and Interesting places you would like to go.
My husband and I went to Nassau, Bahamas on our honeymoon -- the only time I have traveled outside the country. I absolutely LOVED it down there despite the oppressive heat, and the hurricane we just barely missed (Hurricane Andrew in 1992). Absolutely beautiful! One thing I remember that will always stick with me is the incredible shades of blue in the ocean (as well as seeing a sting-ray up close when we went snorkeling).
We also had a wonderful time camping, hiking, and exploring the Colorado Rockies during the 8 years we lived there. Absolutely amazing! So many little things I remember from our adventures -- always something new, and always breathtaking.
I would love to travel Europe. Specifically Poland, as that is where my husband's family on both sides immigrated from back in the early 1900s (I'm adopted and have no clue where my ancestors hail from -- probably German and/or Irish if I went by my looks).
I would also love to visit Ireland, France, England, Scotland, Austria, and Italy -- Heck, I'd love to spend time in every country in Europe as I'm a sucker for historical sites! :) Castles, Churches & Cathedrals, Museums, Ruins??? Count me in! :D
One more; I would love to visit the Holy Lands and sites in Israel! To walk the same streets and be in the same places Jesus was -- that would be a really special experience, IMO!

My hobbies include reading (theology, biblical studies, or classic mysteries), crafts (jewelry-making, knitting, crochet), and community theater.
I'm a pastor.
I live with my two cats (I'm an animal lover -- I'd live in a zoo if I thought I could get away with it.) My parents, older sister, and teenage nephew live in other parts of the country, but we talk on the phone a lot.
I've never been outside of North America, but I would love to travel and experience other cultures. I'm particularly interested in west or central Africa. But I'd also like to see Scotland, India, Thailand, Spain, Greece, Costa Rica... you name it, I want to go there and learn firsthand about the land and the people.

Hello from Great Britain, my grim details:
Hobbies
I make a website for my church at www.salem-englishcombe.com (http://www.salem-englishcombe.com) . There is not a lot of religious content on it because my church have a policy of letting people come to them to discuss the Christian faith. If I had my way though, there would be testimonies and stuff on it.
Occupation
For years and years I was a postman (you say "mailman" over there in the States). Then I did some studying at home and took some exams we call 'A' levels. This enabled me to go to university to do a degree in sociology and comparative religion. Then I got funding to do a masters degree and I am supposed to undertake a doctorate in October.
It's been such a change, but being a postman is an education in itself as you meet people from all walks of life. You can also study social class, being able to see from the perspective of one who is working-class. Not many academics can really do that I think.
My favourite time was working as a postman delivering mail to villages in the British countryside. I miss those days sometimes.
Family
I only really have my Mum (Mom). I am an only child and haven't seen my Dad (Daddy) since I was 12. Not having a natural father who loved me, made it hard for me to feel that I had a heavenly Father who loves me, even though I knew this intellectually. Then God said "I've shown that I love you by the things I've done for you", which helped a bit.
Ministry
I work on a Christian street team, but the Devil seems to have stopped me from doing much this year. First I broke my leg and then I got acute chicken pox which put me in hospital. The chicken pox is over now, but I still have red scars on my face, so I do not yet want to go out and do the street outreach. People are praying and the marks are gradually going.
Interesting places
I loved Israel and Jerusalem when I went on a study tour with Shoresh, who are about the best guides showing the Biblical history of Israel you can get.
I would like to live in Jerusalem in spite of all the dangers. In one night we walked through the labyrith of tunnels that is the Arab market in Jerusalem, saw the Jewish devotions at the Western Wall, and walked through Herod's private tunnel that originally came out at the Temple in Jerusalem. The whole place exudes history, and it was so hot that you could walk about in a vest at midnight and still feel warm. You rarely get weather like that over here.
Best wishes,
Joe

Macrina - I have to laugh about the earrings. A Hobby Lobby opened up near me and I've spent the past 2 years buying beads to work on "someday". Just this summer I finally made a couple of pairs of earrings. OK - so I've invested probably $200 in beads and findings and supplies, etc. and I've made 5 pairs of earrings. That makes them $40 a pair! :D

Scotland may be one of the finest most beautiful countries in the world! I absolutely love it there. And Edinburgh is my favorite city after Jerusalem. There's nothing not to like - even the food is wonderful like fresh salmon out of the stream outside the hotel! Yummy.
I still loved London on my honeymoon in 1995, but I understand that it's an entirely different city now due to the Muslim immigration. All the friendly places aren't so friendly now. :(
