Yay! So, what should the first debate be about. I will try to think of something...not too controversial...

One has started now,oh it is controversial all right.
Debate/discussion is healthy and good. I just hope that it is civil and respectful because some topics can get heated. I don't want to see our wonderful forum get divided over topics that will be discussed.
So praying for good discussions with love.

OSAS or my Tradition one? They are controversial, but they have both been fine as far as I can tell.

The tradition one.
I have seen that are both going well though. There is a great group of ppl here and even when ppl will disagree and may even get over heated (as I like to say) I think in the end most everyone will behave.
I am more here for fellowship, not just CC, for all of CF. But I do love to read all the posts.
When I do get into a debate, like the immigration one, I can go on and on.

Maybe I should speak up more (debate), I don't know, we will see. :)

Well, have you participated in my Catholic/Protestant thread? It is into its 3rd version, and for the most part, it has been civil. There have been moments of flaming from people coming in with nothing to say but "Catholics are wrong!", but with the help of the mods, it has been very educational and friendly for the most part.

Yeah, just great. Let's "debate" the merits of tradition in the faith.

"Progressives" will love this one.

Is this forum for debates between conservatives and other conservativcs, or debate between conservatives and non-conservatives?

Hi Joykins...

My understanding is that it's between conservatives and other conservatives with exceptions allowed if the forum members deem the debate as an outreach.

This is what is in our current wiki...

Confirmed members are listed. Any new member wishing to become a member of the congregation must be added to the confirmed list before being able to vote or debate. We also add an exception to this rule that the staff/members have discretion (on a case-by-case basis) to allow limited debate with non-members when outreach is the goal.

This forum is for conservatives.
It is like the other congregation forums in the sense it is an inclusive forum.
Only differnece, it is not a specific congregation but a ppl coming together with common beliefs that fall into the "conservative" fora.
We are all different denominations here but with common ground.

OK, I think some of the other congregational forums have debate forums to debate those who are not within the congregation, so I didn't know what type this one was. But I think I understand now.

How do we get on this 'confirmed list'?
