I think that fundamental Baptists have believed that the Internet is the Devil for almost a decade, and they finally realizing that although the internet can be very dangerous, it can also be very helpful. I am a webmaster, and I constantly receive emails from Christians asking me to build websites for them. Most of them know how to check their email and maybe chat in forums, but they have no clue how to create their own website, blog, forum, or how to really be an influence online. So recently I started working on a website called christiancontender.com. I believe that we are to go into all the world and preach the gospel, and now we can go into all the world by using the internet. Let me know what you think, and if you have any ideas that would help Christians spread the gospel online. You can email me, or stop by and post on my forum or blog, or post here in this thread.

Hi Matthew. Just an FYI, if you are only here to market your website, you'll get booted off pretty quickly. Your site does look interesting, but if you're interested in being a participating member on CF you will need to stop promoting it in every post you make.

Thank you for the heads up, and I do plan on sticking around here for a while... The idea is not to promote my website, but to promote Christ... I do not sell anything on my website, and my invitation was to help others on my site, email, or here.... I think you got the wrong message..

I dunno about your generalization concerning fundamental Baptists. They've been active on the Web longer than I have. Not knowing how to create a website, blog, or forum is something you can attribute to the general public, but religion is not a factor.

I wish that I could agree with you on that, but I have been involved in many different fundamental Baptist groups, and technology since the early 90's... Until recent years many preachers preached against the internet, and about the many dangers of the internet. Many circles such as, Hyles, OBC, PCC, BJU, CBC, and other smaller Bible institutes strongly discouraged families using the internet for more than just email. Although I think that some fundamental Baptists were and are on top of things, I constantly have to help many churches with projects, because they do not have any church members with internet skills... Ex... I am currently doing a website for Hyles Publications for The First Baptist Church in Hammond Indiana, because they did not have anyone to do their website. That is a church of like 5-10 thousand people I think, you would think that they could find someone.... Anyways, I have noticed that because of our fears, Christians have been reluctant to be involved online. I think that it is time for Christians to educate each other, and help promote the spread of the gospel online.

The dark ages were dark because it was a way for satan's pagan institutions to control people -- to keep them grovelling in a struggle for basic resources and comforts.
After the Protestant Reformation the Great Renaissance began as well. As people, including a high percentage of true christians, enjoyed a free press, freedom from repression and a decent level of self-governance in many areas.
Today the internet is quite a phenomenon. But with the good information we put on the internet, in many other places is bad information. Right now there's a powerful deception campaign going on all across the internet to discredit Yah Word. The movie http://www.zeitgeistmovie.com/ for instance. Which is an extremely powerful satanic deception campaign designed with clever lies to decieve even those who would consider themselves strong against deception.
mlongley, you asked for ideas. How about collecting evidences of Yah's miracles, the casting out of demons in the name of Yahshua, and any other thing you can think of that helps to prove that we have the truth here. That Yah's Word is the truth.
I've aquired a lot of knowledge of first hand accounts many people that i've personally talked to have had with supernatural occurances. I'm just one person. The truth is millions of times these things have all fallen into the same general pattern. Yah miraculously heals some people. And in the name of Yahshua, demons are thrown out of the place they occupy.
zeitgeist (http://www.zeitgeistmovie.com/) and the wave of new Satanic attacks on Christianity all have one thing in common. The omit everything that proves their stuff is total bunko and satanic junk. Reality proves Yah's Word in realtime through the centuries through millions of inspirations, miracles and events in which our Creator has a hand.
We're up against very powerful deceptions. I know of a once very wise person who is now fooled. He's now talking about some Age of Aquarius being in the future sometime in the 21st century. I think what happens is these people get their thinking processes and awareness and perception abilities messed with by supernatural darkside influences. Or Yah turns them into reprobates. And/or gives them a strong delusion as judgement against their constant rejection of His truth.
II THESSALONIANS CHAPTER 2
7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

kobok, that is a great idea, I originally made my website a place for information of all sorts, but what I found was that I may know a little about a lot of things, but some people know a whole lot more than me on particular subjects. So rather than me spending hundreds of hours researching and writing papers, I would rather teach those that know how they can spread what they know.
