General Guidelines
1) The CF Rules (http://www.christianforums.com/rules) apply to articles and edits in the CF Wiki.
2) Be courteous- This is to say that if you are editing or rewriting an article please always give the benefit of the doubt to the author and any other editors.
3) Be Loving and Respectful- Remember always the mission of the Wiki Project before you write. Wiki is to be used to offer information only, it is encyclopedic in nature, please treat it as such.
Turf Wars
Turf wars are ongoing battles over specific issues or articles.
To avoid turf wars, you should keep in mind General Guidelines 2 and 3. The point of the CF Wiki is not to advocate certain positions--it is to provide a reference for people. Thus, if there is a controversy about a certain topic, you should strongly consider making sure all points of view regarding it are incorporated into articles to help the reader make up his or her mind about an issue.
Unfortunately, turf wars can and will break out over controversial issues. There are several ways these may be handled:
1) Editorial Staff may close articles to editing--either for a short time or until a consensus can be reached on how to present the issue.
2) Editorial Staff may reduce an article to "stub" status until a consensus can be reached on how to present the issue.
These are not the only ways problems with turf wars may be handled, but are only examples.
Conflict Resolution
People have disputes, especially about things as deeply personal as their faith. This disputes can be exacerbated by the anonymous nature of discussions on the internet.
If you find yourself in a dispute with another member of the CF Wiki Team, first take a big step back and consider Guidelines 2 and 3. Then, if after considering these, you find yourself still having a disagreement, approach the other Wiki Team Member privately and try to reach an understanding. Many times, a simple misunderstanding leads to great flames that could have been avoided if people had simply talked to each other.
If you cannot reach a resolution of a dispute, please start a thread in the Wiki HQ briefly summarizing the dispute and providing a link to any articles that are relevant to the dispute. Please do not flame other CF Wiki Team members in these posts. The Editorial Staff and other members of the CF Wiki Team will try to help resolve disputes without having to resort to the exercise of power or discipline.
Remember: Some disputes cannot be resolved and the CF Wiki will have articles that specifically deal with disputes.
Power and Discipline
SpaceCat is the Big Kahuna of the CF Wiki Team. He is the only person who can add or remove people from the CF Wiki Team.
RaggedRobin is the Editrix (old feminine form of the word "Editor") of the CF Wiki. She is in charge of the day-to-day operation of the CF Wiki. Her assistant is Avatar. While they do not have the ability to add or remove people from the team, SpaceCat generally goes along with their suggestions.
These are the sorts of things that will get you kicked off the CF Wiki Team:
1. Flaming other Team members in the HQ.
2. Repeatedly violating in-article requests by the Editorial Staff that an article not be/ or edited, modified.
3. Sass.
Conclusion
The CF Wiki is supposed to be a collaborative environment for creating a reference that can be used by the rest of CF's members as a resource for their posts in the rest of the forum. It is up to you to make this possible.
