ijanda.net is my webserver. iJanda is my online name, you'll find I use it for myspace, greatgames.com, and lots of other sites. I've got all kinds of stuff on my server, but if you go to www.ijanda.net (http://www.ijanda.net) you'll just see my web resume (and a link on the "contacts" to my personal webpage) everything else is hidden in subfolders. But I've got all kinds of goodies I'll occasionally link to here on the forum - basically things I want to share with some of my friends here ;)
My tastes in music might be a bit different than the norm (I listen to a lot of World and ethnic music, indie rock, and experimental stuff). Anyway, occasionally a song will stick out to me for some reason or another and I'll post a link to it here in this thread.
Hopefully my friends here will enjoy the things I post. And don't worry, I'll make sure it is all clean.
Hope you enjoy the thread.
Shalom,
-Yafet

The first song I want to share is from an artist some of you are familiar with... Matisyahu. He is an Orthodox Chassidic (and rabincally trained) musician who plays/sings reggae.
Matisyahu is phenominally talented, and his songs strike a deep spiritual cord.
The song I'm linking for you now is called "King Without A Crown".

Glad you like it Hadassah.
I've got a new song for everyone today.
The band is called Mogwai. Mogwai is Japanese for 'demon', or some might say 'demon fighter'. They are a Scottish band, mostly experimental music and instrumental. A lot of their songs have Jewish influences. Some songs are about Moses, or the Torah, etc. Anyway, the song we have today is called Fear Satan.
Enjoy!

awesome.
Btw, I love Japanese music (and anime, movies... culture... :P)
Thanks for the uploads!
Btw, is there a quicker way to just get to the music, I use firefox and apparently my husband has disabled Quicktime and Flash from auto-opening so it takes me a while to find things when I have to tell everything to open... iykwim

lol the Princess Bride one was great!
My sister and I were big Princess Bride fans when we were little (still are)...
Let's just say we watched the color and sound off of our VHS copy, and my sister is overjoyed at having a DVD copy (and I am actively seeking a German/English DVD copy for myself.. LOL)

Another fun one...
Karsilama does this song, but I don't know much about them. I'll have to ask my wife and have her send me some info about the band. This song is something she wants me to learn on the Doumbek (turkish drum) for her to dance to (I play the hand drums). It is a middle eastern song in the time signature of 9. Thus, the song is titled Runaway Nines.
