I am finding my way back to the lord after an eventful teenage period of recklessness. I visited my village church but i soon found that it wasn't for me. transportation issues mean that I am unable to travel to a different church so I am feeling very alone right now as my husband is an athiest and does not want the kids "forced" into religion.

I was wondering what peoples opinions on the online churches were and if anyone could point me in the direction of any bible study mags, online sermons or books that people could recomend.

Many thanks in advance

I don't think there's anything wrong with online churches. So long as it helps your walk with Christ, I can't see a problem.

I would recommend two that I know of:

This is the church pastored by Joel Osteen. Perhaps you've seen him on TV or heard of him. It's a very large church and has online streaming video. You have to sign up for it though. I like his sermons, and occasionally watch them myself.

The second is http://www.timberlinechurch.org
I love this church and they have free online sermons that you don't have to sign up for. The Senior Pastor is Dary Northrop. He is a wonderful speaker and pastor.

I believe both of these churches to be bible based and very open. I'm certain there are more out there, these are just the two I know of.

God bless

Welcome.

They seem somewhat reasonable for life support -- which may be what you need. On the other hand without warm fellowship it's going to be a rough time going it alone.

My mother and I can relate. I'm the child of a mixed marriage like yours.

I know it's going to take some time, but what does your parish church offer as smaller groups? Can you find other people who are true Christians, not trying to immerse themselves in "Christianity and water"? Can you jump past denominational lines in your village? Are there any other denominations there? I would advise tracking around small groups and seemingly "burnt out" church venues to see if there is any small group of three or four people gathering in Christ's name. I know people can be gruff or standoffish or just plain unpleasant to returning wayward Christians.

But I feel deeply for you. Hang on.

Joe Novenson is one of the teachers at Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church (http://lmpc.org/default.aspx?pid=18), his sermons may help you at this point.

hi there...My heart goes out to you..
www.intouch.org (http://www.intouch.org)..
Charles Stanley has a way of speaking right to the heart, and always knowing what to say and when to say it..
I pray your husband will be saved, as it states in Acts, that you and all your household will be saved, and you will be able to return to church. Even before then, all things are possible with God. Do not ever underestimate Him!!!

God bless
