I'm an Apostolic (homeschooled) girl, and if all goes as planned, I'll be graduating next year (I'm 15, turning 16 in January and I plan to finish two years of school in one). I used to be two grades ahead, but I fell behind after the loss of my grandfather, and I want to catch back up to the speed I was at before :]

I want to be a photographer, but I'm not quite sure where to start looking as to what school to go to.
After I graduate, I'm gonna take a year off and save up money (while waiting for my friends to graduate), and then start college, wherever it is I want to go.

I was gonna just wait and see where I am when I get there, but I realized that it's not going to take care of itself. Does anyone have an suggestions? I live in AR, but I don't know if I just wanna go to a local college.

Hi. The best thing is to ask local photogs how they came by their training. It may be that working for one is how they got where they are, not through formal education.

But when it comes to colleges, I know that some have classes on photography, labs, etc, often within the Art Department of that college. The way to find out with regard to college-based photog training is to inquire with one of the colleges near you which have such classes. Any of the professors in the Arts area should be able to advise you.
