I would like to sign up as a member too.

I've realised after a few weeks of posting on this forum, that I am a conservative christian. I've had two bust-ups so far on account of my conservative beliefs.

So please sign me in. I need a safe place to post where people are not going to jump down my throat because I do not agree with their liberal attitudes.

Thank you.

Cool. Trekki will add you to the list soon. In the meantime, you have full membership rights to vote and so forth.

Indeed. As long as WWC has agreed to the wiki rules of this forum and defines himself as a conservative Christian, there is no excluding him.

Greetings in the name of Jesus:

I'm not sure how I am supposed to be called by others.

I Claim Christianity if God asks and Jesus. but Conservative? I suppose. Non denominationalist: as following Institutions of men, Most assuredly, although I agree with most all in some degree or another.

Should we be seeking to unite the faith, instead of separating the faith by precepts of men?

I Personally claim to be " Scripturalist" I follow the Word, which is God. KJV.

I guess I can be banned from any forum, if I agree not in total with all doctrines and precepts. But I do not follow man any more. but words of God.

I would like to quote Isaiah 29;13

" forasmuch as this people draw near me with their lips, and with their mouth they do honor me, but have removed their hearts far from me, and their fear towards me is taught by the precept of men." Also 16

16. " Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potters clay: for shall the work say of him that made it, He made me not? or shall the thing framed say of he who framed it, He had not understanding?"

I consider my self as Non denominational and Conservative; claiming Scripture man. But again that is by " Perspective".

I pray my words do not offend, God bless Christians forum and all who use it.

In the thread, "Rules for Conservative Christians as of 8/20/07 (http://foru.ms/t5857934-rules-for-conservative-christians-as-of-8-20-07.html)" you'll find what the "credentials" are. If you agree to follow them, you can be a member of CC.

Note that a good deal of what's in there is not considered "required for salvation" but rather "required to be considered conservative".

It's not my intention to run Mr. Jim away. I wish he would say. But since membership is voluntary, can you really refuse to remove him if he asks? If we don't have a policy on this then we should. I know that if I requested to be removed I would mean it and would expect my request to be honored.

I've removed people who have requested it in the past, and I will do so again. But in this case Mr.Jim is extremely angry and upset...and I think he just needs a few days to think about it some more. If he comes back and still wants to be off the list I will of course comply.

Rochir has trolled and baited in here freely, under the guise of "fellowship", while flaming us and attempting to cause trouble for us everywhere else. MrJim flipped, and has been extended no grace by the uppers, whatsoever.

The thread in wiki lit the exact fire Rochir intended, with people becoming increasingly rhetorical and outraged by something that has nothing to do with them. People need a cause, where they can get the juices flowing and shout about the injustice of it all. Did they read the background? Nope. Did they keep abreast of it to see *we* didn't *want* to do it? Nope. It's just a case of the Emperor's New Clothes. But, naturally, *we* are the problem, and Rochir is simply well-intentioned.

Meanwhile, we discussed it and out of desperation came up with a crappy idea. Fair enough. It happens. But being accused of being unBiblical by people is the final straw.

So as a member, we're screwed, because Rochir essentially has free reign to do whatever she wants, and no-one is attempting to "counsel" her; no-one is talking about stripping her of her M. The same cannot be said for NG.

As a mod, we're screwed, because the stacks are decked already. I was thinking about it. If it came down to *having* to give someone the benefit of the doubt, damn right, I'd err on the side of the members of CC over a WWMCer, because the flaming in there is rampant; the flaming in here is virtually non-existent. Jim47's post was full of anger towards us, because his thread in WWMC has been greeted with nothing but kindness. What a surprise. That obviously negates all the flaming and disparaging of conservative Christians here.

So I simply fail to see the point anymore.

Hold on Sweetie. I am working hard and furious to get this resolved. Let me tell you what has occurred since you left:

#1) I have brought formal charges of harrassment against Rochir on behalf of our forum

#2) Rochir played her hand and showed her true colors by starting that wiki discussion.

#3) If you leave, you are allowing Rochir to win. One less outspoken Conservative to deal with...

#4) I have proposed another rule that CAN be retroactive and will solve the problem.

#5) If you remember, it was not your rule proposal. There were many members who suggested it. I am not sure who it was initially. However, I asked YOU to start the thread. You did nothing wrong, and certainly nothing ungodly.

#6) We need you on staff desperately because you will be a second voice to help enforce what looks like a rose but smells like xxxx.

Are you going to let Rochir win this battle?

Oh, Greenie! No one here accused you of being unBiblical! That comment that Marty made and I agreed with was about wanting to err on the side of not coming close to appearing unbiblical. Not a judgment on your idea, which was clearly an attempt to brainstorm a solution to a problem situation. And hey, out of that discussion, we're making progress towards a new rule. But no one said you were unbiblical! Not even close -- not at all what anyone meant!

#1) I have brought formal charges of harrassment against Rochir on behalf of our forumBut, Lisa, why has it fallen to you to have to do that? Our supermods should be handling stuff like that. You've been a mod for a week or so, and it's ridiculous and unfair that it's fallen to you to take a stand like that. Know what I mean?

#2) Rochir played her hand and showed her true colors by starting that wiki discussion. She did. However, she took us down with it.

#3) If you leave, you are allowing Rochir to win. One less outspoken Conservative to deal with...But a part of the problem is Rochir "befriended" a pivotal person, who now can't see the wood for the trees. It means that outspokenness on *our* parts is treated with disdain and sanctions, so we can't speak, at all.

#4) I have proposed another rule that CAN be retroactive and will solve the problem. It solves the Rochir problem. And what about NG? And MrJim? And Jim47? MrJim's pm was one of the saddest things I've ever read. And if someone like MrJim can't see the point, what can the rest of us possibly do.

#5) If you remember, it was not your rule proposal. There were many members who suggested it. I am not sure who it was initially. However, I asked YOU to start the thread. You did nothing wrong, and certainly nothing ungodly. But, again, people don't look through the history. They jump on the nearest thing they can attack. That's always been CF's way and am honestly sick of it.

#6) We need you on staff desperately because you will be a second voice to help enforce what looks like a rose but smells like xxxx.

Are you going to let Rochir win this battle?

LisaBut, Lisa, even if I was to become a mod, you realise we'd have *no* say next to the person who thinks Rochir is an absolute angel since they became friends? That long post in the thread discussing the actual rule was just... Even Hen spoke up, because it was just insulting. How can we be managed by someone who thinks that of us?

Hon, the truth of the matter is that right now, I am the only Mod in CCC. Jim and Flaglady work the reports with me, but will not do so if we can get fully staffed. They may chime in now and again, and they will help if we need it, but it will be you, me, and Hen running the show if you will just stay and be what you are called to do. Do not let Rochir or ANYONE take your gift away from you. We do not fight people, but the Spiritual Realm and this is Satan trying to steal your joy and your gift and your work here.

I guess with moving all the time, I like to get a feel for things before taking the leap. You all seem so kind. I am looking forward to being more involved. Just be patient with me at first. I may not post frequently in the next few weeks as I get to know everyone.

WWC... I don't understand :(

Since you've so distastefully expressed your problem with NewGuy101 (http://foru.ms/showthread.php?postid=38338033#post38338033)as a mod (who is a mod of THIS forum, elected by US, btw), I don't expect you'll much enjoy hanging around here.

Edited. Never mind. I give up.

Indeed. As long as WWC has agreed to the wiki rules of this forum and defines himself as a conservative Christian, there is no excluding him.

I thought walks with christ defined himself as a liberal christian????????? when did that change?

LOL, don't worry Lisa, I would never call you militant... after all, you're not a fundie!! ;) ^_^

Anyway, it's just that this particular member first started that nasty thread to slander Julio (see my post for the link), and then decided to "become" a conservative member right after. Sorry, but I smell a troll, and I'm not going to just be silent about it.I'm thinking about starting a thread here to address all this!

I am officially requesting that my membership here become null and void as of now.

Wow. Short membership! :)

I am a free person, and I enjoy being a free person. I am free to post from my heart, me being the only person responsible for my posts.

My posts represent me, only me, no one else. No group, no forum, no denomination. Just me.

Since my membership here might put a negative light on this forum, I respectfully ask that I be removed.

Thank you.

I am sorry, Auntie. For what it is worth, I was trying to save you from trouble as well as not having that trouble reflect on the rest of CCC. It does not mean that you are not welcome here. I happen to like you alot. I don't want you to go. I never did.

Your post got me thinking and I noticed that many of my posts are not being supported. I will ponder this matter.

In the past, I have posted that ONLY the Holy Spirit gave me assurance of my faith and doctrines I follow. No Church (physical), No Denomination (flesh lead), No pastors or anyone can do this for me. Holy Spirit (as part of the spiritual Church) is the only person who can do this through the Word of God.

It might be better that I am not associated with one, especially when I am having difficulties with certain issues around here.

Well, let's talk about this...Do what we do as individuals reflect well or badly on this forum? Should we go to other forums, act badly, and then, have our members have to deal with the fall out if "their" members come here to complain about it? It has happened before.

Was my counsel out of line? Remember, I am new at all of this. When I screw up, it is best if y'all tell me so I won't make the same mistake twice.

No problem Lisa. I love you bunches. I just don't fit in with groups. I like to be free to express myself, that's all.

I don't like the thought that I might should have to censor myself, or think beyond what my heart tells me is true.

The person in question said a horrible thing in private, and yet she will soon be a mod, no doubt. I felt the need to say what came from my heart. And, I said it. Without regard as to what light it might put upon me, coz that was not my concern.

My concern is for Foru.ms, and who the mods are here.
A lost cause, really.

But again, I can't promise you or anyone here that I won't post something that comes across as offensive.

Well, Thank You for that. There is at least one other member who has made that decision and I do respect it. Sort of a free agent Christian who has a calling for John the Baptist type outreach. There is nothing wrong with it. As a mod, though, I am a Protector/Advocate for ALL my members, so that is why I appealed to your sense of membership.

It was not in any way asking you not to be a member here because I luvs you and I want you to stay. However, if you feel compelled by The Holy Spirit to not be confined in any way, then, you should go with our blessing. You will always have a place in our hearts here and you are welcome back anytime.

It is too bad that it has to come down to a choice. Will you think and pray on it for seven days with us? Perhaps as a group, we can find a way to hold on to you but give you the liberty you desire to preach the Word without restrictions.

We cannot restrict you anyway. That is not what I mean, but you feel that you have to restrict yourself in order to retain membership here. So, please, will you give it just a few days of prayerful consideration and let's talk about it.

You are part of the body. You, apparantly, are our fighting arm and we should not cut that off. Instead, we should be supporting you and helping you. I just need some help knowing how to balance our Godly Warrior members with our members who desire peace with other forums.

So, please do not sign out yet. Help us help you and figure out a way that you can stay and still stay true to your calling.

Dear Jim, I won't say that all my posts come from the Holy Spirit, coz that wouldn't be true. But I do know that feeling I get when I feel a big thud on the back of my head, which immediately cozes me to say "Whoa!". You know what I mean. :)

While we might all disagree at times, I think the best we can all do is GO with our heart. Sometimes that is from the Holy Spirit, sometimes it is not.

We all need to be free, to express ourselves, whether we be right or wrong. Just the freedom to express what is in our hearts.

Lisa, I am a member of IIDB. I posted with those folks for over a year. I know them well, and consider many of them to be my friends.

So, if one of them wants to be a mod here, I know a thing or two about them. ;)

But as for me, I really enjoy my freedom to speak out when I feel the need.

I love peace as much as the next person. But peace at any cost is not the answer.

IMO, our calling is to speak the truth.

And if that truth gets us in a world of trouble, then so be it.

I have seen IIDB all over the board. What does it stand for? If it is against the rules to say, can you PM me?

Believe me, I agree about speaking the truth. Before 7-7-07, I rarely came to Congregational, but spent all my time in Theology and GA. I was probably the loudest voice against abortion on this board. If I was reported for it, it must have always come back as NV.

Anyway, I guess for me, my calling is a little different. That doesn't mean you are wrong or that I am wrong, just that we are two different people with two different callings. I have seen things in WWMC that just breaks my heart but I respect their right to be there and say what they say. I mainly do because I do not want them over here saying it.

So, you have my undying respect and I do not want you to go. I just do not know how to balance this from a mod perspective. You know? As a member, I kind of snicker at it and nod my head in agreement. Yet, as a mod, I am called to be a peacemaker. So, perhaps the conflict does not lie with you, but with me.

Again, can you stay until I can prayerfully figure this out in my head? I need you here. We all do.

Perhaps, I just need to look the other way, I don't know, but please, please do not remove yourself as a member until I can pray over this. I want to be YOUR mod as much as I want to be everyone elses. Do you see?

LOl, Lisa, you can't be a mod here if you aren't familiar with IIDB. :P

First, you must sign up there. It is an atheist website, but most CF mods are members there. So don't hesitate to sign up.

Trust me, after you sign up, you will know what I mean. For example, if someone posts in CC, IIDB gets wind of it, folks post a link, and then, well, you know.

The forum there called "Elsewhere" is all about CF/Foru.ms. Anyone who posts there is either a mod or a member of Foru.ms.

Somewhat related to WWMC. But it's more than that. Much more than that.

MY advice, sign up, read ~elsewhere~ for a while, then come to your own conclusions.

Quite often, what folks are talking about here originated at ~Elsewhere~. So if you are to completely understand what the subject is here, you almost have to read ~elsewhere~ to really get the jist of things.

Don't even wanna see the homepage. And I don't care about the state of CF enough anymore to make it worth the turmoil of reading the vileness.

Any site that wears its "deconversion list" like a badge of honour isn't somehere I want to be. CF isn't exactly a light, anymore, but at least it's not dark. Naw, am giving it a wide berth, and if they want to gossip about everything here, no skin off my nose. They'll answer to God for every single thing there that's an afront to Him.

:)Yeah, Erwin's being a member cropped up in the discussion. It ran to, like, 50 pages and we had IIDB admin chiming in so it seriously hit the fan.

The thing is, realistically, IIDB has some good people there, just as CF does, but the environment and the site's purpose make me feel nauseous. Discussions advocating and defending paedophilia and bestiality and parading the people it's deconverted... Nopies. The very definition of being yoked with darkness.

Still astonished at the amount of cross-over, actually. I can't imagine any other "Christian" forum out there has such a close connection with such a terrible site. We're virtually sister sites. Yack.

Willard Onellion AKA cajunhillbilly. I consider myself conservative, though I would alse fit in with the Reformed and Anglican forums. Would like to participate here and there.

Hi, and Welcome. Have you read our Statement of Beliefs? If you have and agree with them, then, consider yourself a member. Lady Trekki will be around shortly to add your name to the list.

Oh, and you can have dual membership here and in other congregations. The only exception is membership in WWMC. One cannot be both Liberal and Conservative.

Say, mama, just quickly, do we make things tricky for you when we fellowship a little in here, or is it still maintainable?

Not really all that much. But I forsee a problem later on down the road when this thread turns over. That will happen whether or not there is fellowship in this thread.

I don't think it's a big issue though sweetie...we don't do it all that much. :)

That sounds fine...we would have to archive it somewhere anyway...might as well be there.

I just made a thread in the rules sub-forum. Please check it out and lets talk about ideas as it's related to this topic. :)

For those who are considering IIDB and haven't yet joined. I joined over a year ago because I was told that a report thread I was working on could be made more clear by a thread over there.

I went back a little over a week ago, as a friend wanted my opinion about a comment made there and discovered that many I considered friends here were very quick not only to use inappropriate language but also to make unsubstantiated accusations and to share private information.

The servers for IIDB could burn to the ground tomorrow along with all background and mirror servers and I wouldn't lose a bit a sleep. But I am grateful that I finally learned how some actually feel about me and what they say when they feel I am not reading.

But, for what it's worth, I really think there's a spirit of strife and darkness at IIDB, so if people are your friends here, what they say at IIDB isn't as important, because that environment fosters - encourages - badness :(

Or they feel free to say what is really in their heart.

Or they feel free to say what is really in their heart. But if they're your friends, and elsewhere they're being horrid about you and using horrible language, that says so much more about them - and IIDB - than it does about you. How about asking them what it all means, maybe?

Also, just so you know, you're very much loved here

Welcome to the zoo~have to admit I have some prejudices about the SDA but I guess you'll just have to educate me; had a similar thing with the Catholic folks at one point (and now I'm a Catholic groupie;) )
