What is it about God that makes him good? Is it possible he's not?

Share your thoughts. :)

What is Good? Is that which is good always good?

Is god omnibenevolent (Is this the intent of the OP?)

That's all I've got; I'm barely Catholic (not sure I really am beyond technically), and quite existentialist (and finally understanding what that is after many people telling me that's what I am).

If we can wrap our minds around axioms such as "God is good" or "God is love" then I think much will fall into place naturally.

i believe God is Love like the bible states..and if God is Love then he is not Hate. I think God is good and not bad. I believe all bad and evil comes from us, and not God. It comes from NOT LOVING, or NOT following God. I dont know if i am right, but it is what i believe. I look forward to others answers as well.

In the words of Tom Waits

"You there isn't a devil, there's just God when He' drunk"

It depends on what you mean by "good." According to Psalm 11:5, God hates "those who love violence." Go figure.
