Thought we should start our new forum with a focus on prayer.

Hopefully a mod can sticky this.

:prayer: Prayers for all of CF - Christian and non Christian.

:prayer: Prayers as we proceed with the changes.

:prayer: Prayers for those hurting to find solace.

Feel free to add both personal and community wide prayers.

Father, I life CF up in prayer, and ask that You soften our hearts and allow us to be loving towards one another, as You have commanded us. Please help us to find a way to reverse the changes that are an affront to You, and help us to revel in the parts that glorify You.

Lord, allow us collectively to be a shining light for You; a haven for Your children, and a welcoming environment for those who don't yet know You.

You are such a good God, and I know You are ultimately in control.

Thank You, Father. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Lord, please fill this place with Your love and peace.
Comfort the hurting, Father and guide those who are seeking Your will.
Lord, please clear up the mess that CF has become.
Bring good out of all the pain, Lord, let it show Your glory.
And let all who come here feel Your love, Father
in the name of Jesus, Amen

Dear Father,
there had been so many disappointing things happening in CF, and many of the good people had left this place and those of us who remain here out of love for you, one another, and for the new christians, are finding a hard task ahead of us.
Let your light shine even in the midst of such darkness, your love comes even in the midst of unfairness, your character shines even in the midst of seeming hopelessness, and increase our numbers, and increase our faiths in you, and move, one day, in mercy and love, to clear up the mess that CF had gotten herself into.
Let the non-believers who come here into this forum and CF come to know you, and let your Holy Spirit continues to work in this place, even when there may be things that we do in our lives that upset you. Forgive us for any and every sins that we may have commited against you.
Do not let this be just another forum, or message board out there in the web, let it be one that draws christians closer to you, and turns sinners away from their sins to you. Forgive any sins we, whether as individuals, or as group, had commited against you.
One day, let our brothers and sisters in Christ who disagree with us, now, and even think we are trouble-makers in this site, sees the truth that you are the unchanging God who was, is and will be, and what was sin to you 2000 years ago, 3000 years ago, is still sins in your eyes today and even 2000 years later. Let us repent of what we had done wrong, and look to Jesus for salvation instead of calling a rotten worm a healthy apple and denying that we had done wrong before you.
Thank you for your love and mercy, your kindness and goodness, I pray that you will work through this forum in particular, this conservative forum and let it be something that will never get watered down, and something that will never be compromised, even if all the other forums fall down one by one.
One day, bring all christians in CF to walk in closeness to you, and all unbelievers that come to fellowship here with us to turn away from their sins to accept Jesus into their lives, that they may receive forgiveness of their sins and an eternity in heaven with you, and us. Use this forum for your glories and let your light shine even in the midst of darkness.
You are sovereign, oh Father, in my life and in this place. There may be things we do not understand that you allow to happen to us, but still, you are worthy of praises, and we join our hands together as a body to praise and lift your names up high, and we continue to trust in you that you are still in control of what happens, in our lives, and in this place. Thank you for hearing our prayers.
To you be all glories, honors and praises. Amen.

Lord, sanctify us in Your Truth - Your Word is Truth! Cause the people in this forum to burn brightly with your holy fire as a light in CF to people who are desparately in need of you, whether they realize it or not. I pray for healing of all the wounds..... healing of all the wounds caused by the changes and fear of changes.... let us be a place of healing and not hurting..... thanks for allowing us to hug on grizzly and glass-soul a little, I pray that they go away with a better opinion of Christians than they came with..... and let that be true of any nonChristian or nonConservative that comes in this place, let us walk in love yet without reducing the standard of holiness and truth......

As the Psalmist said...

I would have perished if I had not believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

Another of my favorite passages comes to mind as well..

Isaiah 40:28-31

28 Have you not known? Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He does not faint or grow weary;
his understanding is unsearchable.
29 He gives power to the faint,
and to him who has no might he increases strength.
30 Even youths shall faint and be weary,
and young men shall fall exhausted;
31 but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings like eagles;
they shall run and not be weary;
they shall walk and not faint.

All praise, honor, and glory be to God Most High,

Praised, worshipped, hallowed and adored be Jesus Christ on his throne of Glory.

Dear Lord,
You know my heart is heavy right now. I am hurt and I am angry. Please, oh, Lord fill me with your love and forgiveness. Help me to remember that I do not fight against my brothers and sisters but the powers of Satan. Please help my brothers and sisters to no succumb to the wiles of the enemy. Help them to remember to love one another. I am so saddened by the anger and hate. I am so saddened by the underhanded methods being employed. I am so tired and weary. I have given my entire week of vacation over to this process, and my brothers and sisters are accusing me before you. Please, Lord, I stand before you in sorrow and anguish. Please shield me against those who would defame me. My soul cries out for you in the midst of all the warmongering. Show me my sin, Oh Lord that I may not sin against you again. Cleanse me of wrong doing, but defend me oh, God. Defend me from those who appear as angels of light but have lied and maimed and cheated and wounded. Send your mighty angels to cleanse this place of the wolves among us. My heart bleeds before you, my God and my Lord, my King. I give glory and honor to your name forever and ever. Let me spend eternity with only your name on my lips. Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, How wonderful and sweet is that name. That name has washed me clean and filled my heart with joy. Jesus, that name above all names. I praise you with my whole being. Let eternity be one song filled with the praise of your wondrous name. Let us give glory to the Lamb of God who died for our sins. I love you, my dear Lord. Fill me with your Spirit. Let my heart be right before you. Let my eyes shine with your light. Let me speak only your Truth. Power and Praise and Honor to you for all the days to come. As it is written, let it be so. In Jesus Name I pray,
Amen

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust."
Surely He will save you from the fowler's snare
and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with His feathers,
and under His wings you will find refuge;
His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday.

A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
You will only observe with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.
If you make the Most High your dwelling—
even the LORD, who is my refuge-
then no harm will befall you,
no disaster will come near your tent.

For He will command His angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways;
they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
You will tread upon the lion and the cobra;
you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
"Because he loves Me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him;
I will protect him, for he acknowledges My name.
He will call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him
and show him my salvation."

Lord, You see into our hearts; You know who is Yours. I plead Your Blood over every one of us and ask You to be our fortress and our rampart. You see everything; You know it all. Thank You, Father, for Your protection and safety.

In Jesus' Almighty Name, Amen.

Please could we all pray for Doc and Barb? Doc's wife (and Barb's mum) Rose passed away 2 days ago.

She's with Jesus now, and happier than we can imagine, but it's most painful for those left behind, so please can we lift them up in prayer and ask that God bring them peace.

Dear Father in Heaven, who is the God of all comfort, pour into Doc and Barb's hearts Your peace and strength.

Their sorrow is great and their hearts are heavy with loss. I pray to You dear God, send them the comfort of Your help.
Please dear God, bring peace to their souls. Comfort them as a parent comforts, and hold them in Your arms of mercy.

Hi everyone...I have a prayer request.

I have been hurt by a few people at my home church. I am taking a break from going to church for a month because it's hard for me to worship God among people who have wounded me deeply. My church has become a cold place for the time being.

Please pray that these wounds would heal, that I can forgive and that I can become comfortable worshipping God among those who have hurt me.

Thanks much. :hug:

Well folks...I've got a prayer request for you. :groupray:

My mom (her name is Vivian) has been having pain in her groin area for some time now. So far she's been able to get by because it goes away. But yesterday and today it hasn't been going away. So we're headed to the doctor this afternoon to see what's going on. It could be a number of things...please pray with me that it's not serious and won't need surgery. Even better...let's pray for healing! :clap: I despise seeing her in pain...it's harder to go through than if I had the pain myself (which I'd gladly take so she doesn't have to). I'm taking off work today so we can get her to the doctor. Someone has to take care of Alanna so that will be my job. :)

Anyway...thanks for your prayers! :hug:

Thank you Lisa...:hug:

We think it might be a sciatica nerve so we set an appointment with a chiropractor this afternoon. If that's not it, we will need to go to her regular doctor first thing.

Already the pain has lessened since people have been praying...PTL! We are giving Glory to God for His help and healing.

Sure thing, Lisa! I think it's a great idea, and I hope it will help her! If anyone can give her some peace surely it's God Himself...

Anyway, consider it done... :prayer:

[BTW: I came to that same conclusion last night. I honestly became overwhelmed by a sense of compassion for her and it became clear to me -- after a few angry and somewhat rough posts on my part (which I am sorry for) -- that this truly wasn't someone who was being capricious in an effort to delude us after all. I guess I'm somewhat jaded from some of the forums I've been on in the past... I'll work on that myself, with God's help!]

If I may, I have a few prayer requests...

First, I've been experiencing a reoccurance of migraines which my doctors and I thought we had licked... I'm even back on a higher dose of one of my meds that helped before, and this time they are not going away (I've had several in the last week). I would just ask anyone who feels moved to, to please pray that my doctors can figure out what is causing this again, and that we can again get it to stop soon. I/we don't know if this is being caused by an old gymnastics injury to my neck and remaining nerve damage, or whether it's being caused by something else. I've had migraines since I was about 13 years old, and it's not much fun... :cry:

Second, I'm finding it hard to discuss some things with my husband regarding going back to church. It seems that due to some of our past experiences he is having trouble with some trust issues and that's affecting his willingness to become involved in another church... Anyway, if you all feel like praying for my husband that he has a change of heart towards this issue I would very much appreciate it -- and also that we will be able to find a good church in our area!

Thank you so much everyone. I truly appreciate it.:hug:

Lord, make us instruments
of your peace.
Where there is hatred
let us sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is discord, union;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is sadness, joy.
Grant that we may not
so much seek
To be consoled as to console;
To be understood
as to understand;
To be loved as to love.
For it is in giving
that we receive;
It is in pardoning
that we are pardoned;
And it is in dying that we are
born to eternal life.

Hi everyone,

I post this today feeling extremely depressed and needy. I'm really in need of some divine intervention!

Today is my husband and I's 15th Wedding Anniversary. This should be a happy day, but it's already off to a bad start...

As some of you know he's on short-term disability due to a back injury & surgery. Well, the small weekly check he receives has been held up for the last 2 weeks due to miscommunications between the doctor's office and the insurance company (AGAIN)... So, now we find ourselves with not much money left in our pockets and no idea when his next check will arrive (we depleted our savings about a month ago -- he's been off work since January). We have food and such, and we will not starve -- Praise the Lord -- however, we will have to be creative and go without some things for the time being...

The thing that is really bothering me is that I was unaware of how little money we had left until this morning. His mother and father gave us some money on Friday when they visited, and I'm really not sure how it went so fast!!! I know my husband didn't do it on purpose, and didn't spend money on frivolous things... but still it's almost gone! :sigh: I am also angry with myself because I am much better at budgeting when money is tight than he is, and I didn't take the initiative to prevent this....

Add to that the fact that we have gone through some very hard times over the last 15 years and as people often do when they come to a milestone we reflect back upon things that have transpired... I'm finding it extremely hard today for a variety of reasons to feel happy, and my mind is focused on all the bad things that have happened rather than our blessings (we have 4 beautiful healthy daughters, and our health problems are really pretty minor as it's nothing like illness some people must deal with, we have a roof over our heads, and food in the pantry, & perhaps most importantly I know we still love each other very much...).

I'm praying hard right now that Jesus will help to see the blessings in my life, and somehow get over the sadness, anger, and frustration I am feeling. I want to be able to spend the day with my husband in happiness, but we are both really feeling the stress (he is at the doctor right now finding out if he can go back to work next week, I usually accompany him on these visits, but we were both so angry we decided it would be better to take a break and let him go alone).

OK, now I'm REALLY rambling, I thank you for bearing with me as I vent a bit... I do feel rather silly venting all of this as we all don't know each other very well yet (my being a newbie here still), but I really didn't know what else to do -- I feel like crying but I can't even do that! :(

So... if any of you would be so kind as to remember my husband and I in your prayers today I would greatly appreciate it, as I'm sure he would as well.

May God bless all of you,
Tangeloper

Y'all please pray for me. We just got some very disappointing financial news. My husband was turned down for disability. He has worked since he was 12 years old and has been paying into the system all that time. He has had two heart attacks, he is bipolar, his legs were crushed last year, and he has arthritis in his spine. If that is not disabled, I don't know what is.

They told us that 70% are turned down, but get disability on appeal. (Meaning hire a lawyer...)

It has been terribly hard. We lost 60% of our income. We were really counting on this. My husband is not able to work, but he is just a number I guess.

Lisa - yes, get a lawyer.

Father, I ask that you comfort Lisa and her DH in their disappointment over their unjust rejection of disability benefits. I also ask for justice in this matter - that their case may miraculously be brought up again and approved or that a lawyer will take them on pro bono! Father I ask all this in the beautiful name of Jesus. Amen!

Thank You all. I just got home and read the letter. It said that even though they realize that he will be unable to do his past jobs (truck driving), he should be able to do less demanding work. :eek:

The letter went on to say that if we hired a lawyer, and the decision was reversed, they would withhold 25% of our past benefits to pay the lawyer.

We already have a lawyer because we won my husband's worker's comp case. However, the guy is refusing to pay despite the court order. We are now waiting on him to be held in contempt. He will pay or go to jail.

We are also waiting on a personal injury and the insurance company has already ruled that the company was responsible. However, all the rest has to be sorted out before the PI can go through.

It is such a scam. There is big money at stake, and everyone wants a piece of the pie. Laws were written forcing ordinary people to hire lawyers to take 40% of whatever they get. It is just stupid, really.

Send your kids to law school is all I can tell you.

Lisa - even if they take 25%, you and DH get 75%. AND 100% of nothing is nothing! :hug:

Also, if he is disabled for the rest of his working life it means that he will be on disability until he's 66 and then can go on full SS! Instead of retiring early I mean!

Thank you so very much to everyone who prayed for my husband and I. We are still very stressed, but have been able to "lay down our arms" for the time being! I am feeling much better than I was this morning, that is for sure!

Praise the Lord, we did get some good news today -- he will be able to return to work next Monday, and his boss is being VERY accomodating in an effort to ease him back into his work. Praise the Lord this particular trial looks to be almost at an end for us! :clap:

Please pray for my father who is , God willing, going to have a hip replacement op in October. I don't think he and my mother are saved so please pray for that first and foremost. Also pray for a young Christian friend of mine who is hanging out with a girl online who describes herself as a "Luciferian". Please pray that this girl will either get saved or get out of the Christian girl's life.

I will pray for both of your parents, Chococat. I know my husband and I were helped by the trials re: his back and surgery, etc... when it came to a renewal of our faith. I pray that the Lord will work in them the same way.

I will also pray for your friend, that she can be a light unto the darkness that is most likely plaguing her "Luciferian" friend. I will also pray for the Lord to grant her a hedge of protection so she will see clearly when interacting with this girl.

Lisa

Oh, Lisa!!! :hug: :hug: I can so relate to your frustration, even if not being in the exact same position. When my husband was first told he would need surgery they were NOT optimistic that he would be able to return to his job as a machinist -- the only thing he had ever trained for and has done for the last 20 years! This was probably the scariest thing we've ever heard as there was no way I could replace his income with my work history.

As for the insurance companies, and Social Security -- UGH! I'll tell you something that might give you a bit of hope -- my father worked as a Quality Assurance Claims Analyst for the Social Security Administration for over 25 years. He became disabled, and despite intimately knowing the system, he was STILL turned down the first time. I truly believe that many are turned down the first time due to the high number of applicants who attempt to defraud and abuse this system (this was told to me by my father years ago...). I do NOT think this is a wise practice, and I definitely see the problems this causes to people who truly need help such as your family. I would definitely recommend finding a lawyer and re-applying. It will be worth the headaches in the end as it sounds like you have a DEFINITE reason for needing this help. RE: The lawyer you choose -- shop around. There are many who will provide free consultations, and make sure you are dealing with one that specifically works with disability claims. This may mean that the lawyer you have for your personal injury suit, will not necessarily be the best one re: your SS claims case. However, if that lawyer does do both things, perhaps he will consider taking payment on the SS work after you receive your other judgements, etc... Gosh, does this even make sense!?!? Talk about confusing -- just trying to help in regards to suggestions makes my head spin. I can't imagine how you must feel right now dealing with what must be pages, and pages of red tape...

As for you and your husband feeling like you are just a number -- I can definitely relate to that feeling as well. It truly at times feels like a matter of life and death getting just that little bit of help, and to hear from others (who seem to have NO compassion at all) "you'll just have to wait", can truly drive one insane!!!

As for the rest -- I will pray for you and your husband that God will show you his love by removing barriers in your way. I will also pray for you that he will provide all you need during this time -- I have no doubt that he will... Even though what we feel we need, and what he knows we need might not exactly match all the time. (I speak thinking about the time when we lost our house, so it's not meant to imply you don't need this assistance - just to be clearer on that point. Sometimes the Lord works in ways that aren't apparent to us is all... )

Funny, this morning I was feeling sorry for myself for feeling the same things it sounds like you are dealing with right now -- but in a much more serious way... :doh: Please forgive me if my complaints caused you any strife...

Hang in there Lisa, and feel free to PM me if you ever need to vent or commiserate with someone who has faced many financial challenges...

Much love to you Lisa! :hug:

Lord, make us instruments
of your peace.
Where there is hatred
let us sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is discord, union;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is sadness, joy.
Grant that we may not
so much seek
To be consoled as to console;
To be understood
as to understand;
To be loved as to love.
For it is in giving
that we receive;
It is in pardoning
that we are pardoned;
And it is in dying that we are
born to eternal life.

Thank You, Lord, that You see everything, and as bad as it all seems, You will use this season and this strife to glorify You. Thank You, Father, that You are such a rock, that we can depend on You and trust You fully and with all of our hearts.

Lord, give us all the courage to stand firm on Your word, and to be the lights You created us all to be. Give us the patience and love to witness effectively and powerfully to those who don't yet know You, and to those who do.

Father, so many of our actions and opinions are ego-based. Please forgive me; please forgive us. We love You, and we adore You. Please forgive us for harsh words said, and for feelings we have hurt.

Lord, none of us know if the new CF is Your will. If it isn't, please tell us, and give us all the courage and strength to walk away so we can follow You. If it is Your will, please guide us and walk with us, especially during these early days.

2 separate fatals accidents have happened here in the last 24 hours. One a group of about 30 people were run down by a pickup truck...6 were killed and 19 injured. They were having a pre wedding celebration and walking from one house to another down a country road when they were hit.

The other was a hot air balloon that caught on fire. 13 people involved. 2 killed and 11 injured. Fortunately even though the burning balloon crashed into an inhabited area and destroyed 3 trailer and 2 vehicles, nobody on the ground was injured.

Even thought I don't know any of those affected, I'm sure all the families involved will benefit from you prayers...thanks.

Hello brothers and sisters. May I ask for prayer?

I have been facing some severe temptations and feel like I am going to fall. I need to be shored up in prayer.

(This is very humbling)Praying for you Scooter. :pray:

Dear Lord
We lift our sister up today. Please deliver her through this period of temptation. You promised us that there would always be a way out of temptation. Please help our sister stand on that promise and guide her out of this place. In all things, we give you the Glory and the Honor and the Praise. In Jesus Name, I pray, Amen.:amen:

Praying for you, Scooter1

Folks, please can you pray for Rosemary Child at Heart and her family.
Her mother died last night. Many people have been praying for her on the prayer forum.
She really needs support.
Thanks

Thank You. I don't know how bad it is, but generally when they are taken to Baptist, it means it is bad.

Hopefully it's just precautionary, Lisa.

Father, we come before you and ask that you place your healing touch on Lisa's nephew and a hedge of protection around him. Let his doctors and nurses treat him wisely and well. Let there be surprise that there is no damage and let him come home swiftly to his family who love him! In Jesus' precious and powerful name, Amen!

Father, You are the Lord of all miracles and wonders, and we lift Lisa's nephew up to You in prayer and ask that You heal him tonight. By Your stripes, Lord, he is healed. It is Your promise, Father, that when we stand together in prayer, our prayers will be answered.

Please keep his family near You. Provide them comfort and warmth and still their spirits, so they rest in You and Your healing.

Thank You, Lord, for loving this boy so very much and for hearing our prayers for him.

In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Father God I lift up Anna - Green Munchkin to you right now. I ask that you place a hedge of protection around her; a blood line that Satan can not cross. I ask that you give Anna your peace and comfort Father. Wrap her in your loving embrace.

We praise you Father that we have victory in every battle, for Jesus has already won the war. Every knee must bow at the name of Jesus; therefore I declare Jesus name & his blood over this situation. Satan you have no right to attack Anna for she is a child of the most high God. I command you to cease & desist this attack right NOW in the name of Jesus.

Father God, I ask that you reveal your truth to the person attacking Anna - show her how she is being used of the enemy and help her to close that open door in her life.

Amen.

Thank you for your prayers for our nephew.

An update: He withstood five hours of brain surgery last night. They removed blood clots, relieved the pressure and drained fluid. He is not in a coma and I don't know if that is a good sign or not, but I think that it is. Thank You Lord.

I'm sorry to hear of your nephew's surgery Lisa. It sounds like a very good sign that he is not in a coma!!! Praise the LORD!!!! I will pray for his continued healing, comfort, and strength for you and the rest of his family -- most especially his parents -- and wisdom and guidance for his doctors, surgeons, and other care givers...

If I may I would like to ask for a little prayer... I went to the doctor this morning because I am not able to put weight on the ball of my foot. Right now the x-rays are all clear, and I can't recall hurting it. The doctor thinks it's just irritated, but MAN does it hurt!!! And, I'm on crutches, which is actually a bit of a challenge. So, if you would say a quick prayer that the swelling will go down, and the pain would lessen so I can actually sleep, I would greatly appreciate it!
