I have a question about how a lot of time we hear at church, or others places... "The end is near", and these are the end days. We see some evidence because things happening in today's world relates with some of the prophecies in the Bible.

I know it is said that nobody knows the day or hour, my question however is this. When preachers and others say that these are the last days... are they referring to 5 years? 10 years? 20 years? or could it be 100 years??

I guess the question is, what is the definition of "soon"?

This is my same question.... I have in this forum under the thread "Does anyone know"

There was some one n here interpreting Revelation that was showing when the "end of time" would be... it was quite interesting.
And I cant find that thread anymore.
I dont know what to tell you other than it is soon according to the Bible.

They cannot define "soon". Christians have thought themselves to be in the endtimes/near the end since the first century AD.

There is a reason why we will not know the day or the hour... it's because we are not supposed to concern ourselves with it. We are called to be good Christians always... not just in the nick of time. We should always be prepared.

If you have not actually read the parable from which you pulled the quote about "the day or the hour" I would encourage you to read it now. It is Matthew 25:1-13.

The "endtimes" they talk about in some churches is not much more than a scare tactic, trying to get Christians to straighten up. I remember when I was about 9 or 10, my religion teacher (I went to a Catholic school) telling us that Jesus' second coming would probably be in our lifetime... And that we may not even make it to adulthood before Jesus returned! Well, I guess she was wrong with that prediction! ^_^

Anyway, the point is don't concern yourself with when this world will end. Just do your best to be a good and faithful servant.

It could be tomorrow, or it could be in 500 years. The Lord's coming is not an empty threat (for He WILL come), and even if we don't live to see it we will still need to give an accounting to Him when we die - and one of us could die tomorrow, you never know.

The last times began with the church. You can in the NT that the Christians then believed they were living in the last times. And so have other Christians through the ages, especially around times of hardship or national disaster.

Jesus did remind us that only God knows exactly when.

i think that God does have a way of revealing things to His people like when something changes in the Spirit, but i dont think that He's going to reveal this at least not in great detail. sometime when we feel something like that change, probably the 1st thing that we think is that it's the end of the world... or something of that nature because it feels so powerful to us.

but God will eventuallly reveal all things...

at His 2nd coming...

hehehe :D

We will not know when it will happen, but it is said it can happen in the blink of a eye.
We all need not worry, just trust and belive in God and you have nothing to fear.
