I was feeling kind of depressed in general about the way my life in general was going and then yesterday in Church the Pastor's sermon on counting your blessings really got to me that he gave examples of all these good things in our lives and none of them applied to me. It's pathic how big of loser I actualy am. It makes wonder why I even bother getting out of bed.

Cyber,

Psalm 34:17-18
The Lord hears his people when they call to him for help. He rescues them from all their troubles.
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those who are crushed in spirit.

Praying for you.

You are not a loser! Don't ever say that about yourself...ever. That's a lie from satan my friend. We are children of the Most High God, heirs in His kingdom. He formed you in your mothers womb, you are unique. And listen...even if right now you don't feel you are blessed...you are! I'll keep you in prayer CP. :prayer:

Stop that. You are a child of God. None of us are losers in the eyes of Our Lord. Ignore those feelings as they are not from heaven. They are not from God. Ask God to remove them from you and with prayer and love he will. You are one of the nicest people I have met here and I am praying for you...

God has all these extraordinary plans for you, and they're more amazing than you can possibly imagine.

Look at how loved you are here. It's because you're lovely. Look at this way. The same God that made everything - has the power and the desire to make your life incredible. Yay! And, realistically, why would He not do it? We know He loves us beyond words, because He died for us. That's real, indescribable love. So He wants for all of us to be happy, and to have wonderful lives that make us want to dance. He has all of that in store for you, dude. Tis so yay!

 Hi GM...seems like forever since we had a one on one chat. :)

Things are the same in FF...GT and Leader are spending some time together right now. :) He went to visit her in Canada. You need to stop by Leaders thread to relax...get away from all the debate and politics for awhile. There are lots of encouraging people in that thread...GT, Leader, Joyshirley, Arborvita, Frogette, and so many others.

As for Terry and I...we're still planning on meeting Sept. 1st for the weekend. :) I'm both nervous and excited! I love him so much and I don't want anything to change how we're feeling for one another. And yet...we have to move forward into the unknown or we won't continue to grow in our relationship. It's just that when you get comfortable with something you don't want to go out of the comfort zone in a way. But it will be fine...I have a good feeling about it AND we are praying Gods will be done. So how can we go wrong? :)

You're right about the debate. It's so weird that CF is like a completely different place for me now. Before it was all bouncy with friends, and now it's all heavily involved in debating. It's my own fault. I unsubscribed from all my threads when I was gonna leave, and I haven't really got any of them back, so it's like the threads I used to post in are on a different site, or something? That probably doesn't make any sense. It really is my own fault, though :(

Are you going to Terry or is he coming to you? Also, how are things at your church now?

And how are things going for YOU? Are you doing ok? Really, really? :hug:Um, yeah, sort of. John and I broke up last week... it's so strange because I really and truly thought it was of God. But John let all his issues get in the way and it crippled us completely. I thought I'd be more devastated, because I lost the person I thought I was gonna marry, but am trusting God with it. Trying to, anyway. Also I quit my job so am feeling a little lost, in general.

Was talking to a friend today, and we were both saying that when we were in our eary twenties, we both assumed we'd be in our careers by now, married with children... and none of that has happened. Bit scary, I suppose. But I'd rather be a Christian than have those things, so it's ok.

Also, my ex got in touch a couple of days ago to tell me he's gonna be a dad. That was hard to take, for some reason. But, trusting God with everything :) He's a good God.

Terry is coming to me. :) It's important my mom meet him before I take off to go visit him. She would have a hissy! As it is she'll want to come along to "chaparone" when I do go to visit him. ^_^ Mothers...what can ya do? :D

Things at the church have become a little easier in some respects. We've been having alot of guest speakers which is both good and bad. Since it's summertime, it's expected that people be gone...camp, vacation, etc. So the attendance hasn't really been an issue in my mind. We have had many people apply to be our Pastor...which is incredible considering that some churches sit without a anyone applying for years. The pulpit committee are doing phone interviews tomorrow and also again next Tuesday. From there it will be determined whether any of them will be able to come in and give us a taste of their preaching style. It's such a long and tedious process... As for the worship team and my leadership skills...good days and bad. :sigh: Yesterday was a bad one to me...but Mom says it was fine. The Holy Spirit did move so in that way it was wonderful. But I forgot one of the songs we were supposed to sing...couldn't think of how it went! Not good when your the piano player and leader... I could have died! But probably nobody else noticed...except for the others on my team yesterday.

You know...as far as expectations. I know what you mean. It's hard not to feel like you've missed the boat on something when you don't get to a certain point in your life when you expect to get there. It's like we're playing that board game "LIFE"...everything is supposed to be perfect. And when we dont have the husband, car, house with the white picket fence, and two kids...we feel like we've failed somehow...or we're behind. Like we're losing the game. I mean by now I ought to have 75% of my retirement money in the bank! :swoon:

I'm sorry about John...I knew you guys had broke up. It's so hard to go through that process. Much like a death...you go through the grieving process. It can be very painful... The good news is that there are so many other fish in the sea! Better fish...bigger fish...tastier fish. ^_^ :P Seriously...the right man will come in God's timing. Keep praying...I'll keep you in prayer as well.

It's due to primarly to me being unemployed and I'm living with my parents because it, it just makes me feel like a loser and a failure.

It's due to primarly to me being unemployed and I'm living with my parents because it, it just makes me feel like a loser and a failure.Did you know, that in England now, the average person is living with their parents until they reach 30?

There's this huge stigma attached to it, and it doesn't mean anything. Think back to the past, when Christian values were what governed society. People lived at home until they were married, right? And even then, people frequently lived with family, and extended family. It's just modern, secular society that tells us living with parents is bad. It's not bad. In many ways, it's the right thing to do.

As to employment, millions of people are unemployed. Billions, maybe. Is *everyone* a failiure? Or are you calling yourself that because you judge yourself harsher than anyone else? If you wouldn't consider another person a loser just cos they're currently unemployed, you shouldn't think that way about yourself, either

With the family, hubby is better. He does love God.
He does say he will not get involved with any church though.
I have re-verted back to my Catholic faith. But in past we have attended a Baptist Church and were even re-baptised there.
He doesn't want anything to do with any formal Church, meaning someone tell him what to believe.

I just want him first and foremost to embrace God, which he does to a good degree. But not as much as he should. Not trying to judge him, but I just see what I see.
:)

And my kids are all teens come this Sunday. they will be 13-17. LOL.

Oh I cry with happiness. Praising God in and for everything!!!!

What's it like where you are Anna?England has some of the most beautiful countryside in the world, I think. Every shade of green you can imagine, and wild blackberries that grow alongside the road, and you can stop and pick them and look at all these green rolling meadows. I think because it tends to rain here a lot, and it makes everything so lush and crisp.

Then we have all these old villages, with cottages that are 800 years old with flowers crawling up the walls and filling the gardens, and the village will have one little high street with shops that make fudge, one little post office and a shop that sells bread, newspapers and milk and not much else :D

But am in London, and it can be magical, but it's also a fairly unforgiving environment in some ways. We have some areas that haven't changed from the Victorian times, and there are these little, narrow, winding, cobbled streets, and when you walk along them, it really does feel like you've time travelled back a hundred years. In general, though, it's very, very built up, though. And loud, and expensive and people are always in a hurry. But we have a *huge* river called the Thames which dissects it into North and South London, and the Houses of Parliament and a thousand other incredible buildings line the river on both sides, and when you go over one of the bridges at night, all these buildings are lit up and the light reflects off the river and it's incredible.

England is kinda cool, I guess  There are obviously loads of other aspects, but those are the first things I think of.

Harrison Lake is about a 45 minute drive away. So just a nice journey for a days visit. I really should go up there more often, except some times it can be really busy, and then it's not much fun finding parking and battling the people. But yesterday was perfect. :)

Hello. :Dz

I see everyone is doing good!

Cyber you are better than you were a month ago, that is praise worthy!
A month ago I was a mess. I had lost almost all of my faith in God and was depressed because of that :(
Now that has completely reversed. Praise God.

The love of God and loving Him back, that is the most important thing in this life.
Of course other things are important too, like loved ones and friends, finances, heath etc.
But those things are always changing in life, there are valleys and peaks with those.

You are just in a valley now :)
So a peak is coming!!!!

Yes the bridge collapse is awful. Prayers to all involved. My heart goes out to all those in the Twin Cities.
One thankful thing is even though it was an 8 lane bridge, 4 of the lanes were closed due to construction, so less people were on the bridge.

Good morning, I pray everyone has a great day. God bless!

Hi! Sometimes the hardships we go through are to teach us to trust in God. I also believe that they teach us to have courage and to be able to help others. So, in saying all of that, I would like to share my story with you.

Life as a Christian has not been easy for me. I became a Christian just 3 years ago. For the first three months, I knew nothing but joy, but then suddenly, many things began to happen to test my faithfulness and trust in God. I am here to bear testimony that God is faithful in His promises to His Children. I stand on the promise of Romans 8:28. Here is why!

July 2004 Hubby's First Heartattack
Oct 2004 Son diagnosed as Autistic
Dec 2004 Grandmother diagnosed with Alzheimers
February 2005 Grandmother put into resthome after battling pneumonia
May 2005 Hubby loses job
Aug 2005 Hubby has second heart attack and loses second job
Sept 2005 Grandfather dies after grieving himself over my grandmothers quickly advancing Alzheimers
Sept 2005 Hubby diagnosed as bipolar
July 2006 Hubby in terrible accident. He was crushed between a tractor trailer and a van.
August 2007. I am still standing, strong, and here to tell you that my Lord does provide. No matter the need, it will work out.We are still waiting on disability payments. We lost 60% of our income, nearly lost our house, but I am telling you, God provides every single time. We have not needed anything. There are so many stories I can tell you of how God used these bad things to bring good to me or to others. God will not fail you.

All things work to the good of them that love God. All THINGS! Even the bad things. Trust in the Lord. He will not fail you!

Today is going about the same as yesterday looking for a job not finding anything and the cycle continues.CP, have you spoken to Criada? She's away at the moment, but when she gets back, ask her about her job situation. It'll give you so much hope :)

And if you're still between 1000 - 1200, that's still not bad   Lots of wonderful people care about you very much, bro. That says an awful lot. It's also God's way of saying: "Ya know, I'm looking out for you, and I'm going to give you beautiful things when the time is right. Now gimme a hug." :) He doesn't go by our timetable, but we just have to trust that His timetable is perfect

:) Yeah...I know about missing posts. CF is being especially ornery of late and I've been missing a lot lately. The only way I can keep up is if I read the thread backwards until my last post! ^_^ You gotta love CF bugs. ;)

Ah...you must be frustrated. :( I will keep praying for you my friend. I know the Lord has a job for you. I also know it's very hard to 'keep your chin up'...but please do. :pray:You're so so special, Greenie

I love you, sis.

I did get some bad news today I probably lost out on a temp accounting job because I was out of the house and my mom told she would give the message rather than giving them my cell number it took 2 days before they were able to get back with me after rather extensive game of phone tag on my part. Needless to say by then they had sent 2 people to interiew they haven't heard anything back yet but accountemps seemed pretty sure I wasn't going to get it.

You certainly have had many hardships Lisa in a short amount of time.

But now through all of that, you have been building faith, hope, trust, and patience. Also a testimony to share with others and an understanding of what others may be going through.

So true....

My oldest (17), drove me crazy this morning. And all the things I learned from her sisters this morning about her!!!!
She walked down the road (thank you Jesus her car is broke down) so she couldn't drive away. :amen:

Praise the Lord, if it wasn't for God, I would be screaming , or flipping out or drinking or whatever.
(Well I did yell but I am very calm right now PTL! )

Trusting Jesus with all this, and it could be worse (drinking/drugs etc.), and it will all end up good in the end.

I had to vent alittle. ;)

God is always with us through the valleys, and He is holding me up well! Surpisingly well!

Well folks...I've got another prayer request for you. :groupray:

My mom (her name is Vivan) has been having pain in her groin area for some time now. So far she's been able to get by because it goes away. But yesterday and today it hasn't been going away. So we're headed to the doctor this afternoon to see what's going on. It could be a number of things...please pray with me that it's not serious and won't need surgery. Even better...let's pray for healing! I despise seeing her in pain...it's harder to go through than if I had the pain myself (which I'd gladly take so she doesn't have to). I'm taking off work today so we can get her to the doctor. Someone has to take care of Alanna so that will be my job. :)

Anyway...thanks for your prayers!

My daughter is "bananas" !!!
(And please no one, I am not calling her names, but her thinking/acting is out of whack to put it mildly.)
Just being honest :sorry: , not mean.

And to be more honest I was twice, five times as worse than how she is acting/thinking at her age :sigh:
So I am thankful she is not like me then.

Thank you  You were very, very missed when you weren't here. It never stops being amazing that people can come to mean so much to you without your having even met them. Tis bizarre and also wonderful :)

But, yes, why yucky, please?

No one has to meet face to face to mean so much to another. Here online, we see the beauty of a person and the love of God within them, without eyes but with the heart. Yes bizaare but most wonderful.
We don't see God with our eyes, but we know. We know.

Yucky cause my oldest daughter is "nutty" she is 17, and my hubby is not helping me with guiding her. :sigh:
I was worse at her age by far, and for years after that.
She has been going down a bad path, but thankfully no drugs/drinking.
I look for that, I know what to look for believe me, and I am so thankful no signs of that anyways.

But anyways, you are beautiful!

Are you and she close? Please tell her a chick in London says she has one of the coolest mums *ever* Deep down, she so knows it, too, you know. But for some reason, it's like the law, that all teenagers need to rebel. She has you, and you have God, so it will all be fine. Truly :)

They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household." (Acts 16:31)

Awesome promise He's made you, and He never, ever, ever breaks a promise, so you can rest easy knowing He's looking after your entire household :)

Good morning everyone!!

Mags, I'm sorry you had a rough day yesterday with your eldest. I have a friend who's going through the exact same thing with her eldest teen. Her daughter is just trying so hard to have an identity apart from her family. I think the biggest thing she's learning is to pick and choose her battles.
I do hope that by the time she gets through this, she'll have lots of advice to pass on to me...feel free to pass some on too!
Regardless, I'll pray for her...and you dear Mags!:kiss::hug:

Anna, our house hunting has been put on hold for a bit...we have much work to do here to ready our house for selling...not to mention, the house we were interested in has been sold. I'm believing in God for the perfect house and situation for us. :)

Hi PeaceLover2, welcome!

You know that is what I need to do (pick and choose which battles) and also my daughter is trying to get her own identity, I know.
She was always home, keeping to herself, her sisters and school work. And she has always done great in school, just about always highest honors (straight A's and she takes hard courses at school)
Last year she got a job and a car. And things have changed. Not her grades (so far anyways) :)
Thanks sweetie! I need to pick and choose the battles.
(But I want to win them all! :D LOL )

I would have to do some fixing up if I were to sell my house too. I don't plan on selling anytime soon though.
But I am thinking about setting up the tent on my property and living in that by myself for a few years. :D :D :D
LOL just kidding.

I'm doing ok...we have a rainy day here today, perfect for lazing around in my PJ's all day and I would do just that if I didn't have a client coming. :sigh:
Today is a holiday for us here in Ontario so that means my hubby's home for the day...I think, after my client, well sit around and watch kids movies and have lotsa popcorn!

free2be, mags, everyone! I had not checked in here in a couple of days and I find you all talking about getting houses ready to sell, etc.

Well, I'd been working since May to get my house ready to sell. It's a duplex condo at the NJ shore. Prices have fallen 25% since 2 years ago but I bought 20 years ago. Yesterday I was looking at my huge list of things to do and my brother, his wife and another couple who're friends of theirs came over and said that they wanted to buy my house at my price. I DON'T HAVE TO GET A REALTOR! The price is a bit on the low side but I'll clear more in the end. I can stop my projects as my brother is a contractor. I can leave here and go back home to Florida the middle of next week! I'm so homesick for my church, etc.

Yippee! Doing a happy dance. Danced all yesterday afternoon! Happy happy happy!

Thank you Abba Father for the many blessings you have bestowed on your servant. May I be accounted worthy of them. I praise your name and lift up your son! I love yo
