This was started as a wiki to organize the Baptist forum, then was changed.
There is a wiki (the first one for Baptists) started here:

So far so good...:) I'm sure it's going to evolve along the way as we put more input into it. Can't think of anything right now to add on...just wanted to chime in...:)

Rules---There is a Wiki/Poll already. We need a link here, finalize it, and publish it in a Sticky. http://www.christianforums.com/t5673...l#post36816080 (http://www.christianforums.com/t5673593-wiki-wiki-baptists-rules.html#post36816080)
Participation---There is a Roll Call thread. I think we need to use this to insure the integrity of the voting. Anyone not on the Roll Call may not vote. Agree? Disagree? Weighted Voting? http://www.christianforums.com/t5674...l#post36815760 (http://www.christianforums.com/t5674394-roll-call.html#post36815760)
Moderators---Is there a need for more mods? What requirements do we have for new mods?
Statement of Beliefs---I think there is a Wiki for this as well. We need to link it here, finalize it, publish it in a Sticky.
Reunion with our Anabaptist/Mennonite/Quaker brothers and sisters. I think there has been a thread about this, but has a decision been made yet? We will need to finalize, then invite them to join, and determine what our new Forum name will be. If there is anything most important on this list, this one might be it. If we do not include them now, they may resent not particpating in the formation of rules, voting on mods, etc. We do not want to treat them like second-class members, but our equals. http://www.christianforums.com/t5680...l#post36815845 (http://www.christianforums.com/t5680088-baptist-anabaptist-reconciliaton.html#post36815845)
Forum Set Up. Again, there is a thread out there. We need to link up, discuss more, and finalize. Do we want a Baptist Only Forum with fellowhip/discussion between Baptists only? Do we want a separate sub forum in which non-Baptists can ask questions? Do we want a Debate sub forum as well? What level of debate is acceptable? http://www.christianforums.com/t5713...l#post36815622 (http://www.christianforums.com/t5713...l#post36815622)
#1 - this is a priority, IMHO. There are some polls already for this.
#2 - The Roll Call was suggested. At this point, I think one vote per person is fine. In fact, the polls should hav been public but as there is no discension - I guess it is fine.
#3 - All mod apps are on hold at the present time, but I hope it opens up soon!!!!
#4 - Statement of beliefs is in the same wiki as the rules, as the statement defines who is a Baptist.
#5 - There was no vote - there wasn't even a call for the two forums to join together!!! People just leaped to that conclusion. The thread Crazy Liz started was not a call to rejoin but just to reconciliate. AND the Anabaptists would want to join us. I don't see that they do.
Why don't we just table that? We need to get organized as a Baptist forum first!
#6 - there is a poll for the set-up. It ends on the 20th. Then we can ask Letalis to set the forums up.

Thanks Free!
What I would like to do is get different groups of people assigned to these different tasks, writing things up, sending out invitations, adding polls, that kind of thing.
Is there anything on your list that you would like to take charge of?
I think I would like to work on the AnaBaptist Reconciliation.

Link?
As C&MA and also ejected from the old B/A forum, may I participate in that process also?

What is C&MA? We don't have a link yet...Well, there is sort of a discussion going, very informal at this time, but I will give it to you in just a moment.
It is just where I have asked Anabaptists if they would be interested.

C&MA is the Christian and Missionary Alliance (my church). Before the split we were included in the B/A forum, but afterward folks were adamant that the Baptist forum was Baptists only.

Gosh! I am in way deep here. I just saw a thread in which Baptists were asking for a reconcilliation and I ran with it.
Honestly, until the new CF, I rarely went into the Baptist Forum. I am a GA girl more than anything.
I will do anything I can to unite all of us. I am just not sure I know how at this point.

I'm not as convinced as you are that most Baptists desire a re- merge. Reconciliation, maybe. Like Crazy Liz, I don't want to intrude.
Here is some of the background on what happened due to the split--apparently I was the only poster from my denomination at the time. http://www.christianforums.com/t3210276-christian-and-missionary-alliance-in-baptist-anabaptist.html

Hmm..
Well from an outsider's perspective, I never understood why Baptists and Anabaptists needed to split. I say join up once again.
It wasn't a split. It was a forced excommunication.

Lisa, I know you are doing this out of love and kindness. I just discovered that C&MA will be included in the new Conservative Christians forum, which is what I wanted (a home for my denomination). I personally also have somewhere else I can go (WWMC). While I would like to explore reconciliation through dialogue, I do not want to force myself on the Baptist forum against the general will of the forum. Right now I don't know what that will is and am willing to wait. Please do not act hastily on my behalf.

Oh, Lisa...I'm so sorry...
I too was so shocked about the split. I was gone for the weekend, and came back with the split already had taken place. I was upset and hurt because there were people of the Anabaptist faith that I enjoy talking with. Though I was not part of the scene when everything happened, I was against the split and voiced my opinion....but what was done was done.

I altered the wiki. It was started as a wiki to organize the Baptists..and was changed to a one topic complaint.

...and it was a genuine complaint, one that if not addressed, means that none of the rest matters. Without love, we are nothing. You could have just left it alone and started a new wiki. I wonder why you didn't.

I already had a wiki going, Lisa.
Starting a wiki and then changing it to a rant against other current Baptist members after other poeple participate borders on trolling, IMHO.

Yes, you had a wiki for the rules. I was not trying to take that over or replace it. I was trying to centralize everything here.
However, no one else had participated in the wiki. There had been no input from any other member. There had been no one who accepted one of the tasks on the list. There had been no changes made to the wiki.
Therefore, I felt free to change it as I was the only participant. I did talk to a couple of people in here, but I do not remember a single person actually participating in the process.
Now, tell me. What are you more concerned with my rant or the wrong that has occurred? Do you want a reconciliation with the Anabaptists and others?

Reconcilation does NOT require the forums be rejoined. Even Crazy Liz tried to tell you that.

Second Baptist wiki? Are the Baptists here segregated? ^_^
I once lived in a town with a First Baptist Church and a Second Baptist Church. I learned that when a towns have a Second Baptist Church it nearly always means First Baptist is white and Second Baptist is black. My favorite services were when the Second Baptist choir came to sing.
Now I can't see the phrase Second Baptist without thinking of that.

Which is why I have used the word reconciliation. I cannot be 100% positive, but I don't think that I have asked anyone to rejoin or force a rejoin. I have asked my Baptist brothers and sisters to make things right with my other brothers and sisters. That should include many things, but I would think a big apology would be the first thing. However, do whatever your heart tells you. I am merely trying to do the same and I really wish you would stop attacking me for doing so.
Can you leave me alone now, Free? I am beginning to feel stalked. You have the original wiki which you may copy/paste or trash it. I have resigned my membership and I have given my cause. Do with it what you will, but can you stop following me around all over the place telling me how my de-wiking this wiki is a flame to all Baptists?

Nope, it is a done deal. If the majority of Baptists here are against it, I will leave the congregation myself (in cyber life, not in real life)
That was in regards to getting the forums to unite. If not, you sure weren't clear then.
And your original wiki:
"Reunion with our Anabaptist/Mennonite/Quaker brothers and sisters. I think there has been a thread about this, but has a decision been made yet? We will need to finalize, then invite them to join, and determine what our new Forum name will be. If there is anything most important on this list, this one might be it. You were treating this as a done deal - going ahead without consensus on the topic. And something that big should require more than just a a majority vote - but something like 2/3s.
It is because of those statements and a few others that I viewed this as a demand to rejoin the forums:
"The only Baptist thing I will participate in is a genuine apology to those who were KICKED OUT of the Baptist congregation and a reconciliation, a genuine and heart-felt WELCOME back into the Baptist community."
That should include many things, but I would think a big apology would be the first thing. However, do whatever your heart tells you. I am merely trying to do the same and I really wish you would stop attacking me for doing so.

Lisa I have as much right to defend my view and express my views as you do! I have the right to my opinion of your statement that you made. And I have the right to be angry at that statement. And I have the right to post to what I see as someone forcing their view down my throat!
AND I HAVE THE RIGHT TO POST IN THE WIKI JUST AS OTHER BAPTIST MEMBERS HAVE!
You are not being followed around as you falsely accuse. I am responding, as is my right, to the wiki and threads in the Baptist forum.
