Well, according to my son, I am now Da da! I was just standing in the door watching my wife playing with him and as he stood there holding her hands, he looked right at me and said, "Da da." I know it might be kinda silly but I'm ecstatic right now.
Next thing you know, he'll be holding out his hand and saying, "Da da, keys!" :D

 Congratulations.
Don't worry, Maybe he will be a fraidy-cat like me and not want to drive. My parents are actually trying to push me to get my permit. You would think they would be happier ^_^

He probably will since I was that way and he's looking to be a chip off the old block. I was halfway through 16 before I got my license and back then you could get a permit at 14 and license at 15.

You guys are wimps! I got my permit on my 15th bday and my license on my 16th bday.....passed both tests on the first try! I took my driving portion in a 1967 VW bug (and for those of you who do not remember....STRAIGHT DRIVE BABY!).
Now understand that I first drove the thing when I was 12 as my father was the pastor of a large church and I would drive it around in the parking lot all day! Went on the road (illegally) when I was 14! Went on a joy ride all over town while my parents were out of town when I was 15! When I went to take drivers ed.....the instructor said to me, "Son, you have done this before, haven't you?"
Today I communte 65 miles, one way!
I DRIVE!
ps....I am just poking at you guys. Now, Greg, go get your license. How do you date well meaning EO chicks?

Don't worry, my parents are still pushing me, and I'm a bit older than you. ^_^
I know they don't fancy picking me up all the time, but I'm so spacey I'm still not sure how good I'll be behind the wheel when I finally can drive.

LOL That's cute. :D I know what you mean when your baby says "mama" or "dada" in your case. It sets your heart soaring. :)

Next time you will hear him say "da, da, DADA" you can consider him saying "Yes, yes, Daddy" :)

congratulations!
as to the driving thing: I still don't drive, and we can get our permit at 16. I had my first permit (the one that lets you drive, but only with an adult) for two years after failing the written test three times...lol...and then it expired. I haven't got around to doing the test again! I can drive pretty well too, just never took the practical test... :sigh:
