hi everyone!
We need to have a staff meeting to discuss how everything's going to be done in our team! Basically, all the details are going to be in our hands in our we proceed with:
warnings
promotions
bringing staff on
deciding our "team captain"
etc...
so, let's pick a time and a day! God bless, Saucy!

Great idea! We really need to talk about our new duties. I've been just kind of floating around looking for things that need to be done. I'm still a little uncertain as to what a supermoderator is supposed to do. When we start bringing on new staff, we'll need to know how to train them, also. Our old training manuals will be mostly obsolete, except maybe for some of the technical stuff like mod drop-down menus.

I've been waiting to hear from people...where's our team at?

Maybe people are busy trying to keep up with all the changes. It's a little overwhelming right now.

Well, one of the problems is that most people probably don't know this forum exhists. I only found it because Sophia was kind enough to give links to this and the CR.
A central place of information is greatly needed. I refuse to read those all those debate threads on new rules. I want no part in it.
I am also sorely disappointed in how new mods are being processed, just another debate/flame thread. :sigh:
I hope Erwin takes the bull by the horns soon as CF is on a down hill slide and I see nothing stopping it.
My individual TCL forum is still fine but our people are well diciplined.
May I suggest that we have the meeting via msn IM or yahoo IM? I wouldn't even mind the old phone if that were possible. If anyone wants to talk via phone just PM me with your number and I can call free of charge on weekends and after 7pm EST.
I'm really starting to think this whole change is

I agree about the new mod apps. If people are applying as mods for WWMC, for example, the application should be voted on by the WWMC members, not by everyone. Isn't that how the new system is supposed to work? What's happening in the mod apps right now is sad. However, not all the congregational areas have finalized their rules and their mod-approval processes, so it seems a bit premature to start bringing on new staff without all of these wrinkles worked out.
I would be happy to meet via MSN or phone, whichever you all prefer. It's probably easier for me to do it by MSN in case I need to step away for a few minutes and take care of the kids. :)

Are we still working under the old model, where the Protestant team, Orthodox team and Catholic team are all indepedent of each other?

ok...I will set the meeting date and such and if you can't make it, then we'll move it around to fit people. It will be via MSN chat.
Do we want it during the day or evening? And what day is convenient?

Sorry, guys, wont be there. I have tried, on numerous occasions, to get MSN working on my machine, but it's a no go. I can do AIM or Skype. Does anyone know if it's possible to set up a private room through the CF IRC?

Evening is best for me. It doesn't really matter which day right now.

Okay! Like I just happened across this post, didn't receive any e-mail, I have no MSN chat either just AIM. I've been in a waiting mode now for about 4 or five days since there are no rules in effect, just rules under discussion. People are just starting to realize that and old rules are being broken on a regular basses. Something needs to happen soon since many good people are leaving CF. :crossrc:

Are we still working under the old model, where the Protestant team, Orthodox team and Catholic team are all indepedent of each other?I respect the old ways and wouldnt want to step on toes I think we need to earn the respect of JefferyLloyd and RobNJ and let them tell us when we can come in and help them out, give them as much time as they need...As far as the Protestant area I am open already to having them come in if you all dont mind?.....

Thanks. :) I volunteered to help in the new Conservative Christians (http://www.christianforums.com/f791) forum that Letalis posted about, also. If anyone else wants to help, see his thread here (http://www.christianforums.com/t5694748-new-congregational-forum-needs-staff.html) (posts 1 and 2).

I thought maybe it would be a good idea to call people's attention to the Staff Positions Description Wiki (http://www.christianforums.com/t5669842-wiki-christianforums-staff-positions-description.html).
It helps to clarfiy the role of a supermoderator:
Super Moderators(supervisors)
can moderate any forum
Elected from the staff team, from the pool of moderators elected by the membership.
Available to do all of the moderator duties, as needed.
Serves as the day-to-day supervisor of the staff team, guiding the team so that the work is done fairly and efficiently.
Gives input on reports, but especially is called upon to decide action when moderators cannot find consensus.
Makes the final call on decisions to recommend suspensions and bans.
Serves as mentor for moderators, answering questions and explaining team-specific expectations.
Helps facilitate discussion about team-specific processes, based on their experience, and in light of the various wikis and rules that apply to the situation.
Identifies and analyzes potential problems, whether in team process or in member-staff relations, and helps seek resolution. Elevates potential problems when necessary.
Keeps an eye out for, and recruits as potential moderators, those members who post frequently in their forum and have skills that would make them a good staff member.

does anyone know how to add things to the wiki? how would you all feel about this suggestion
Every SuperMod would have one forum that they would serve as their home base and if they choose would float around after seeing to the needs of their home base first:wave:
of course I'm biased but thats cuz I need to look out for ET and I dont think ET will bennifit from the SuperMods coming and going all the time, ET needs commitment and team work
Just an idea to add to the wiki if I knew how;)

You can do it if you go to the wiki, and click on the edit button at the bottom of the page. It's a lot like editing a regular post.

I'm actually opposed to that idea unless I misunderstand you. That would mean that we have just one more obstacle in our way of trying to keep CF running and take care of members. We already have our hands tied, why create yet more rules for staff. We have almost no authority to moderate anymore as it is. If I'm off base here then please explain what you meant. :)
