I have asked some questions as to the mechanism by which we can aquire subforums for STR. It seems that we can do this. We would need a consensus vote, and a reasonable proposal for the forums. I checked around some of the other forums where subforums exist to see what precedent would be able to be included in our proposal. What I found is the issues we face are not unique. There are a few forums where there has been a liberal and a conservative subforum created. I was also able to find one forum that had a "library" subforum as proposed by friend EvAng.
This being the case, I do not think we would have difficulty in going that route. We could show cause for these three types of subfora, and would likely get approval. Further division into more ideological subfora would maybe get turned down from Admin.
Although the liberals here see me as conservative, and the conservatives see me as a liberal, I try pretty hard to consider these issues from as objective a stance as possible.
I support the creation of these subfora as being the solution to what seems to be the largest issue confronting us as we try to rebuild STR. We can all live together in the general STR forum, but a retreat into a subforum could be a benefit at times.
God Bless All Here!
