Please feel free to give input about whom you think would make good mods for Wesley's Parish.

I think Sophia would like us to use this thread to talk about how to determine who will moderate the WP once the current mods step down (yes?).

If so, maybe it would be a good idea to rename the thread?

Anyway, I like our current mods. I hope they can stay on. If not, I think to would be wise to try to chose our future mods from this forum.

Thoughts on how to go about doing this?

I'm blessed by everyone here. I would like to point out Cristianna and GraceSeeker however. (I hope this doesn't embarrass you guys)

Cristianna was very welcoming to me when I first started posting here (well everyone was). She pointed me in a few directions that I might not have gone otherwise.

GraceSeeker has worked really hard on the Wiki, even though he can't even post there yet. His posts are very edifying, and have helped me.

Eekk! I need to catch up on things! lol In the mean time I'll keep my eyes open and make mental notes.

That was very sweet of you Red!

There are so many lovely members in this group. All of them are spectacular in their own unique ways.

Red has really stepped up to the plate getting this subsection moving. Things are moving so quickly I can't keep up! I truly appreciate her willingness to dive in head first while still being very new to CF!

And Sophia has done a fantastic job keeping the encouragement for the changes going with excellent guidance.

Of course GraceSeeker (whom I really think is my previous pastor and superintendant!!!!) has done a marvelous job and is quite handy with the pen (or shall we say keyboard?).

RedTulipMoon (or RTM as I like to call her) always has a cheerful and bubbly disposition and is willing to offer advice and help to anyone at any time. Sometimes I wish we were neighbors.

I'd love to call out other names, but I'm a bit worried they may no longer be here. I need to go check that out.

This section has been a blessing to me. I learn new things every time I log on here.

As for the politicking and mod stuff, I'm staying out of it all. Thank you Mods, past present and future, for all you do.

First off, everyone I've met so far has been wonderful!!

But I would like to point out GraceSeeker and Concetta.

GraceSeeker has very patiently answered my questions about Methodism, and has helped me more than he knows!

Concetta took the time to teach me about our CF Characters and how we can clothe them in the Armor of God, and then turned around and gave me some very generous gifts.

In other words, both of these people have gone the extra step for me, and that means more to me than I can explain, ;)

No politicking intended, I promise. ;)

Looks like politicking at its purest.

StacieA thank you for the compliment. I'm glad you like the board. :)

Guess I'm confused as to why? Just trying to help the board. I don't have a personal stake in this other than I like it here.

Good idea. I'll change the name. :)

This is my point in a nutshell:

A New Dawn starts a thread: This thread is for you to use to praise someone in this forum who is special in some way.....Tell us what you admire about them and how that quality has blessed you, or this forum, or CF as a whole....

What a thoughtful thing, a thread to praise someone :)
(Please know that this is not about the compliment that I received)

Then it turns into a mod politicking thread. Mod discussions, mod nomimations, mod qualifications, mod polls, mod votes, ... all mod politics. The title gets changed, and I hope the thread starter was notified. My apologies for misunderstanding the original post and title. GBU all.

The original intention of the thread wasn't to be a "mod politicking thread," but it was to call attention to people who may make good mods. As staff, we were asked to dialogue with the members for this purpose. The new title gets that across better, and it does need to be discussed. Since you will be voting in your own mods now, it will be necessary to recognize the leadership potential and other positive qualities of your fellow members.

Here is what A New Dawn said in another thread (http://www.christianforums.com/t5678977-are-you-ready-for-this.html) along the same lines:

We need to start to organize into a group that self moderates or self leads however you want to call it.....In other words, except for manually training you all for Moderation (which will happen after elections are done), we need to start treating you all as staff members, and get you thinking as such, so you can start preparing for many things that Erwin said would be your responsibility once this ball gets rolling…

1.You need to start to recognize who makes good leaders (servants) in this group and begin to dialogue with those people and be excited about becoming a part of those motivated to lead.....

Amen to that! Both PC and Morgaine were two I definitely wanted to add to the list, but hadn't seen around lately.

Both of them have excellent qualities already making them terrific moderators. And Morgaine has been a terrific moderator here in WP already.

Thank you, Cristianna! I love WP, I consider it my home! However, my duties in Support do keep me pretty busy - but you all know if you ever need anything, please PM me!!!

I would also urge everyone to offer up praise for Cristianna - she stepped right in with the wiki project, and has done a lot of work (with others that I will praise in upcoming posts! It's just past my bedtime right now! ;)) and is always around, caring for all of us in the Parish! Thank you for all you do, dear sister!

Concetta, I can really see your point.

Though there is, of course, a genuine need to have some discussion to help in identifying who we might feel most comfortable serving as a mod for us, there are actually things more important than electing a mod, and building up one another in the body of Christ certainly qualifies as one of those things. So, I'm not going to complain about this thread, how about we let this thread be for that purpose, but...

Let's also we start a new thread that is specifically about what some of us thought this thread was for to begin with.

I've posted a new thread, "The Person Above Me" thread (http://www.christianforums.com/t5785749-the-person-above-me-thread.html#post37119483), where hopefully people will stop by from time to time to offer some praise and build one another up. You might not recognize its purpose by its name, but if you take the time to read my introductory post, I hope you'll all get the idea.

Here's hoping to see you all in "The Person Above Me" thread, and thanks Concetta for the idea.
