Saw this prayer in a book this morning. After editing for overtly Catholic references (Pope, etc..), I believe it has special meaning for our current climate...
:prayer:
O heavenly Father, your Son, Jesus, prayed that His Church might have a unity which was not only spiritual but also material, a sign manifesting unity to the world. Promoting Christian unity is a duty of all believers, especially of those who are ministers of word and sacrament. Help each one of us to concentrate on our common bonds. Grant the bishops, priests, and ministers of religion the willingness to co-operate in the gospel mission and the courage to lead Christian people back into a single family of God. The ministry of unifying God's people was a special part of Christ's earthly mission and he gave His unifying authority to the Apostles. Grant that other Christian peoples may accept the necessity and validity of this ministry of unity.
Bring us together in charity and in trust. Make us one family, as we pray for Christian unity in Him whose name we bear.
Amen.

Beautiful.

Prayers for you on your time away. I looked at the website of the retreat you're going on and it looks like a very special place./
