Looking for God in the movies

Anyone have any favorite movies with strong Christian themes? They don't have to be religious movies, per se. You could make strong arguments for Christian themes in Harry Potter, for example. . .

I adore The Lion the Witch & the Wardrobe, of course.

One of my favorites is Chocolat, and not just because I'm a confirmed chocoholic. While on the surface, this film can easily be seen as anti-Catholic and anti-Church, there are also some very beautiful messages about the power of redemption.

What are some of yours, and why?

Try not to laugh, but I'd say Braveheart. There's very strong messiah imagry as well as suffering servant/ conquering king images, and a general theme of redemption.

totally..of course, Lord of the Rings as well...also, Gibson's new "Apoclypto"...lots of imagery in that as well..

there is a sister who teaches...at the Univ. of Kansas I believe, that has her classes choose movies and break them down into Christian themes...her notes are available for free if you email her..I will look and see if I still have it if you're interested...she did a workshop I went to that was incredible...
