Hey... getting back to what makes CF... CF, I invited my roomate to go to the episcopal church with me tomorrow. I remember reading (but due to premature alzheimers- can't remember where:confused: ) something about our "rituals" being an obstacles to people unfamiliar with them-- causing immaterial, superficial divisions.
I personally feel called to genuflect and even cross myself (despite my EXTREME protestant upbringing... sorry Mom.:swoon: ^_^ ^_^ ) but can abstain if it would make my guest feel more comfortable. Is this the right course of action?
He is a non-practicing type of guy, and I tried to get him to take the online denomination quiz to help discern his values, so I don't feel 100% comfortable with him going, but he asked me... so who am I? Your thoughts?

here's my thought: If you want your guest to feel comfortable with what's going on around you, you should act like you usuallly do, that you are at ease with your surroundings. If you behave differently he is likely to pick up on that and feel awkward as well.

I'd simply tell him that, if he doesn't know what to do and when to do it, then he should follow your example. It would be a great way not only to teach, but also to "bond" with your roommate more. :)

 agreed. Approach it with a positive attitude and he will be more likely to also.
