Has anyone here done the Disciple Bible Study? Or Studies?

Did you find them helpful in your Christian walk?

How were they similar to other Bible studies in other denominations? How were they different?

Do you feel that it was a good overview of the Bible or did it leave many more questions unanswered than answered?

Did it help you form any close relationships with others?

Am not familiar with this particular study but look forward to others' reviews of it

I did complete "Disciple 1" about a year ago. My church had classes once a week, and it took almost half a year to complete the class - but I have to say it was the best class I've ever taken. I loved it! I will absolutely take Disciple 2 when the opportunity comes about.

The Disciple class is very Bible oriented. You will read most of the Bible in this class. You receive a large workbook, have daily readings where you record your thoughts from the day's reading. Then during the actual class, you watch a short film, and share your thoughts from the weeks reading, respond to questions posed by the leader of the group, prayer time, lots of fellowship. I recommend this class highly!

Thanks for the info, Morgaine. I'm hoping my church will offer it this fall. I've also tried searching for an online version of the Disciple study but haven't found one anywhere.

I'm not sure if they offer the study online - I just went and pulled my manual off the shelf, and it was published by Abingdon Press, and the exact title is: "DISCIPLE: BECOMING DISCIPLES THROUGH BIBLE STUDY".

I hope your church does offer the class! You'll really enjoy it, it's a big time commitment, but well worth it.
