Just had to share my experience...

Hi all,

I went to a UMC church today...it was a contemporary service and it was AWESOME. I have a few friends that go to this church, and they were there, so I didn't feel uncomfortable at all. Anyway, it was a great, spirit-filled service. The pastor is very friendly, down-to-earth, and actually humorous.

Today's sermon was on Matthew 5:13-14, (the Salt and the Light). Having been raised in the Catholic church, I had heard this before. But perhaps my ears were closed all those years. The way the Pastor explained it today was so beautiful and uplifiting.

Anway, just felt that I had to share my experience with you all.

My wife and I started attending a UM Church last year, I think it was in September. We go to the contemporary service, but the traditional is nice, too. We liked it so much, we joined the UMC just last week. :)

I found out about the food already! The Pastor and his wife hosted a dinner for the new members. It was very good, and the dessert was three different, and very rich, kinds of cheesecake. :clap:

Glad you enjoyed it, Laura. Our family moved to the UMC about 3 years ago and found it to feel both like home and like a challenge to our spiritual growth at the same time.

Oh yeah...they had food too! Before/and after the service. Donut holes, brownie bites, coffee, OJ, oh my! ;)
