John 10:4When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice. 5But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger's voice." 6Jesus used this figure of speech, but they did not understand what he was telling them.
To know Christ is to know Gods will. He is the shepherd that leads you. If you have to ask, what shall I do or which way shall I go then you need to ask, do I really know Christ?

That is interesting.
I however, am clueless and need konked on the head before I realize what parables and analogies mean. I'm a lousy sheep.

I've learned how the find out His will... at least His will for me. In everything... I ask Him! He has never failed to let me know the right or the wrong, the good from the bad, about anything I've ever asked Him. Now, this has only worked since I got saved (early 90s) AND after I activated my faith and started really believing. Since then... piece of cake. I'm sure He was always telling me... but the difference now is... I listen... and obey.

God's will is to live according to Biblical Principles. Nowhere in the Bible does it say that God is going to direct you to a certain job, or a certain mate or anything.

What you expressed seems to be a very prevalent belief, and that is so sad, because for most people this stops them from hearing Jesus when he talks to them.
Jesus once told me to pray to be open and sensitive to his touch and to his word all day long.
Doesn’t a personal relationship with someone mean you talk to him or her, and they talk to you?
Remember Jesus taught Paul and he told us we would hear his voice.

Thank you, but I don’t need, nor would I accept anyone else’s plan for me. Jesus has given me visions of my whole walk with him. I know what he wants of me, because he personally has told me. I would never follow anyone else’s plan, only Jesus’.
Jesus also warned me, that I was not to read about him, that he would teach me about him.

The verses that describe Christ are better understood within the context of the entire Bible. If you want to know Christ better then get to know the Bible better. Here are a few verses that describe Jesus as He is in Spirit.
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.
Hebrews 11:3By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.
1 Corinthians 1:24 but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.
Proverbs 8:30 Then I was the craftsman at his side. I was filled with delight day after day, rejoicing always in his presence,

These are the verses that have helped me lately:
Psalm 37:23, "The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, And He delights in his way."
Rom 8:14 "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God."
Psalms 107:11 (NIV) For they had rebelled against the words of God and despised the counsel of the Most High.”
Deut 5:32 (KJV) - “Ye shall observe to do therefore as the LORD your God hath commanded you: ye shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.”
John 15:14 "Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
Previously I would hear some Christians say they prayed about which lettuce to buy, which street to take to work, etc. I just couldn't believe the Lord was that interested. I thought He was only interested in the "big stuff." Then I realized it's all small stuff to Him. Which head of lettuce I buy might determine if I get sick or not. Which street to take to work might determine if I'm involved in an accident. So I'm more convinced than ever, He will direct every step if I will only listen and then obey.
When we don't deliver our listening skills, when we pray, sometimes we don't hear the answer. The book "How to Hear from God in a Noisy World" helped me in that area. I know when I hear and obey Him in the small things, then my hearing will be better dealing with the "big things."

The man communicates of diverse forms, voice, telephone, letters, gestures, signals, etc. God also communicates of diverse forms, mainly in our conscience, visions, until a publicity can be used by God to send a message to us, everything what happens in the world are messages of God.
But these messages are interpreted by those who trust, Consider, the FAITH comes by the preaching of the true Gospel, and we have diverse functions to serve God .
First, to read the bible, second, to put in it practices his lessons, soon the revelations will come and finally the function, according to the “gifts” of the Lord

God speaks to us through the Bible. Anything else HAS to be suspect, because how can one know if it's Goiod telling them to do something, or your own subconscious? It's a dangerous road to go down.

Sorry Jive,
I disagree with IF you really wanna know about His plans... and His plans and place for you... get a copy of Rick Warren's PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE. If you really want to know God's "plans and placer for you" in life, get THE BIBLE and do what it says in Romans 12:1-2 "Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. 2Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
I am not against reading books, but to NOTHING, takes the place of God's Book. I have taken my congregation through the PDL 40 days of Purpose, and there is NO WAY I would recommend it over, in place of, or instead of the Bible.
You wrote: "IF you really [my highlite] wanna know about His plans..." I take real exception with the way you pharase that statement using the word "really." No, if you really want to know about His plan--BIBLE and do what Romans 12:1-2 says.
I know my tone sounds harsh, and I don't mean it that way. It is hard to communicate tone and feeling in the written word, so if I do sound harsh, please forgive me. However, I do disagree with you.

Although I believe the Word (Christ) is at work in all things, the Bible should be your only trusted source for the untwisted truth about who Christ is. When you discover who He is you also discover who it is that opposes Him and leads you astray.
Isaiah 9:16 Those who guide this people mislead them, and those who are guided are led astray.

Rev 4:9 And when the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, to Him who lives forever and ever, 10 the twenty-four elders will fall down before Him who sits on the throne, and will worship Him who lives forever and ever, and will cast their crowns before the throne, saying, 11 "Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for You did create all things, and because of Your will they existed, and were created."
Notes: Because of Your will all things existed, and were created:
Eph 1:3 Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly [places] in Christ, 4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before Him. In love 5 He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will, 6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, which He freely bestowed on us in the Beloved. 7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace, 8 which He lavished upon us. In all wisdom and insight 9 He made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His kind intention which He purposed in Him 10 with a view to an administration suitable to the fulness of the times, [that is], the summing up of all things in Christ, things in the heavens and things upon the earth. In Him 11 also we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to His purpose who works all things after the counsel of His will, 12 to the end that we who were the first to hope in Christ should be to the praise of His glory.
Hear the words of God, and know the will of the Most High:
Ro 2:18 and know [His] will, and approve the things that are essential, being instructed out of the Law,
Nu 24:16 The oracle of him who hears the words of God, And knows the will of the Most High, Who sees the vision of the Almighty, Falling down, yet having his eyes uncovered.
Ac 22:13 came to me, and standing near he said to me,' Brother Saul, receive your sight!' And at that very time I looked up at him. 14 "And he said, 'The God of our fathers has appointed you to know His will, and to see the Righteous One, and to hear an utterance from His mouth. 15 'For you will be a witness for Him to all men of what you have seen and heard.
Col 1:9 For this reason also, since the day we heard [of it], we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, 10 so that you may walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please [Him] in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;
Only he who does the will of the Father who is in heaven can enter the kingdom of heaven:
Mt 7:21 "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven; but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven. 22 "Many will say to Me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?' 23 "And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.'
The Spirit of Yahweh speaks by the mouth of David, and David is after the heart of Yahweh and does all the will of Yahweh:
2Sa 23:1 Now these are the last words of David. David the son of Jesse declares, And the man who was raised on high declares, The anointed of the God of Jacob, And the sweet psalmist of Israel, 2 "The Spirit of Yahweh spoke by me, And His word was on my tongue. 3 "The God of Israel said, The Rock of Israel spoke to me, 'He who rules over men righteously, Who rules in the fear of God, 4 Is as the light of the morning [when] the sun rises, A morning without clouds, [When] the tender grass [springs] out of the earth, Through sunshine after rain.' 5 "Truly is not my house so with God? For He has made an everlasting covenant with me, Ordered in all things, and secured; For all my salvation and all [my] desire, Will He not indeed make [it] grow?
Ac 13:22 "And after He had removed him, He raised up David to be their king, concerning whom He also testified and said, 'I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My heart, who will do all My will.'
Ac 13:36 "For David, after he had served the purpose of God in his own generation, fell asleep, and was laid among his fathers, and underwent decay; 37 but He whom God raised did not undergo decay.
Rebuild the fallen tent of David:
Am 9:11 "In that day I will raise up the fallen booth of David, And wall up its breaches; I will also raise up its ruins, And rebuild it as in the days of old; 12 That they may possess the remnant of Edom And all the nations who are called by My name, "Declares Yahweh who does this.
Ac 15:15 "And with this the words of the Prophets agree, just as it is written, 16 'After these things I will return, And I will rebuild the tabernacle of David which has fallen, And I will rebuild its ruins, And I will restore it, 17 In order that the rest of mankind may seek the Lord, And all the Gentiles who are called by My name,' 18 Says the Lord, who makes these things known from of old.
The Lord does the will of the Father in heaven.
Jn 4:31 In the meanwhile the disciples were requesting Him, saying, "Rabbi, eat." 32 But He said to them, "I have food to eat that you do not know about." 33 The disciples therefore were saying to one another, "No one brought Him [anything] to eat, did he?" 34 Jesus said to them, "My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to accomplish His work.
Heb 10:9 then He said, "Behold, I have come to do Your will." He takes away the first in order to establish the second. 10 By this will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
Jer 3:15 "Then I will give you shepherds after My own heart, who will feed you on knowledge and understanding. 16 "And it shall be in those days when you are multiplied and increased in the land," declares Yahweh, "they shall say no more, 'The ark of the covenant of Yahweh.' And it shall not come to mind, nor shall they remember it, nor shall they miss [it,] nor shall it be made again. 17 "At that time they shall call Jerusalem 'The Throne of Yahweh,' and all the nations will be gathered to it, to Jerusalem, for the name of Yahweh; nor shall they walk anymore after the stubbornness of their evil heart. 18 "In those days the house of Judah will walk with the house of Israel, and they will come together from the land of the north to the land that I gave your fathers as an inheritance.
The Lord’s teaching about the prayer:
Mt 6:9 "Pray, then, in this way: 'Our Father who are in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. 10 'Your kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven. 11 'Give us today our daily bread. 12 'And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 'And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. [For Yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.]'
All works of His, doing the will of the Father in heaven, his angels mighty in strength:
Ps 103:19 Yahweh has established His throne in the heavens; And His sovereignty rules over all. 20 Bless Yahweh, you His angels, Mighty in strength, who perform His word, Obeying the voice of His word! 21 Bless Yahweh, all you His hosts, You who serve Him, doing His will. 22 Bless Yahweh, all you works of His, In all places of His dominion; Bless Yahweh, O my soul!

Amen to that. I really would rather someone tell me what Book, chapter and verse to read, rather than them posting the pages from the Bible. A short verse from the Bible is okay, but I personally would rather pick up & read large amounts of scripture in my Bible as opposed to reading it on the computer screen, especially in a forum. :sigh:

Ditto that! Just a short reference to back up a point being made is enough. We know where to find the rest.
Proverbs 8 (Wisdoms Call), one of many places in the Bible, is describing who Jesus is as Christ?
Proverbs 8:22-23 "The LORD brought me forth as the first of his works, before his deeds of old; I was appointed from eternity, from the beginning, before the world began.
Proverbs 8:30 Then I was the craftsman at his side. I was filled with delight day after day, rejoicing always in his presence,
1 Corinthians 1:24 but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.
