Hi,
Can anyone give me tips on how to have a prayer journal? What is it for? What do you write in it? How do you have one? I really want to start one but I'm not sure how. Any thoughts and suggestions, advice or tips would be great.

Can anyone give me tips on how to have a prayer journal?
Sure, just make written notes of what you prayed about. Or do like I do, blog it in CF blogs. But be sure to not write personal info.
What is it for?
A prayer journal is useful so you can remember what you prayed, and kinda see where you are going. Journalling helps me focus, and give better quality prayers..more organized, and scriptural prayers, as I reflect on what I am saying, see the list of what I am asking, and even edit it. To journal gives me not just a way to remember, but a kind of conciousness and accountability of where I am and what how I am relating to God. Then after I pray, I can live my day, and after the day has transpired I can compare my thinking and my behavior during the day to what I prayed about earlier.
What do you write in it?
I write my exact prayers to God. I record what I actually think and want to say. Some people pray naturally, then write up notes afterwards, the high points of what they asked God for. I prefer to think pray and write at the same time.
How do you have one?
Use a the CF blog, is one way(again don't give personal details...you can think details, but don't write them). Or just write it up in MS Word.

Try some hymns you know and some of your favorite Psalms.

Prayer journals are great. I actually have a prayer journal that is a mixture of spirituality with everyday life situations, after all, the 2 inner twine a lot if youre living your life for Jesus. I just journal things that are on my heart, and its amazing looking back later and seeing answered prayers from the past.

Another big thing to add in the journal is the followup: What has happened after you prayed? How and when did God answer your prayers? What did God reveal to you in your prayers to him that might require further action or why God may be saying Wait or No, etc.
And another big point of keeping a prayer journal is that this way, you can refer back to your prayers and how God has responded to give you encouragement and faith to continue trusting him, especially during difficult times.
