God doesn't 'let' anyone die. Death became part of the curse we came under as people when Adam and Eve partook of the unforbidden fruit. Death is a very hard thing to deal with and also aging as we were not and still not designed to handle death in any way. Even the death of an animal is hard for us as we weren't designed to ever see death. God was so good to design the garden of Eden to begin with where death did not exist. So to redeem us at all He sent Jesus. The curse of death remains in the earth until we get to heaven. But God himself allows no one to die. He can comfort you and strengthen us during grief and pain if we let Him. May He comfort you now. It grieves Him too, He wept over Lazarus death.
