"Remember that holiness is nothing more nor less than perfect love for God and man in a clean heart. If we love God with all our heart we will gladly keep all His commandments and do all His will as He makes it known to us. And if we love our fellow-men as we love ourselves, we will not do , knowingly any wrong to them."

Well, this is certainly wrong: "Remember that holiness is nothing more nor less than perfect love for God and man in a clean heart."

Holiness means much more than just this.
This is, however ONE aspect of holiness (MINUS the word "perfect" ... because we are just NOT perfect in our actions).

No, we may not be perfect yet as God is perfect, but it should be our goal, otherwise why would Jesus have said?

"Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect." Matt 5:48

The direction to perfection is through a perfect heart. All of our actions will not be perfect until we have been perfected, but I believe His heart within us can be perfect. David told his son, Solomon, to serve God with a 'perfect heart' and a 'willing mind':

"And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever." I Chron 28:9

And Jehoshaphat gave a charge to do things 'with a perfect heart':

"And he charged them, saying, Thus shall ye do in the fear of the LORD, faithfully, and with a perfect heart." II Chron 19:9

I believe that many in the past have had and that many today do have a 'perfect heart' and a 'willing mind'. This is where to start and then continue by faith toward Him and toward 'being perfect' as Jesus said.

"...With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible." Matt 9:26

We ARE perfect, because we are in Christ. He IS our holiness.

I was planning to answer until I read your comments and then I knew that you had said all that I would have said anyway.
