I think a Pastor should be a person who doesn't give boring sermons.

I voted.
Proactive or leader with aim.
- I feel a leader's job is to lead the church in doing God's work, without an understanding of where they are going and what God's work is and what direction they are being led they are just a figurehead.
Have Good character?
- I'd say displaying the fruits of the spirit, yeah.
Have good relationship with people.
- nobody wants mean people leading them.
as for the other two, polotics is not really anything to do with the church IMO, and i think trying to politicise your church is a bad thing. (if your talking about "any good christian would vote for the (whatever) party!" kinda stuff.)
and the change thing, well, if the change is spirit led then yeah but not if it is led by man.

These are human expectations of a leader.
A leader according to the Bible is a servant.
To be a Christian leader, you must first have a servant attitude to be willing to serve those who will follow you.
When the disciples were arguing about who was the greatest among them, Jesus replied:
"If anyone would be first, he must be last of all and servant of all." Mark 9:35

the congregation and leaders are part of the same body, the congregation must do thier share of the work, maybe i'm not understanding you right but the leaders job is to have expections of the people and for them to actually follow.

A good church leader should make it clear that the head of the church is not himself, but Christ Himself. He should preach the entire Bible, law and gospel, sin and repentance, grace and faith and press it to the point that every person sitting in that church knows they're gonna go straight to hell if they step out of this world without Christ. A good church leader is a dutiful follower of Christ.

I feel a good church leader would have on his mind how would Jesus want me to handle this situation... or what message would Jesus want me to teach this Sunday (or any other day)? A leader should ALWAYS be focused on doing what is right by Jesus' standards... human standards are just too greedy and sinful.
It breaks my heart to see how easily a pastor or priest can be pulled by the congregation... mostly because he is worried about people leaving the church, which means less funds coming in. A church is not a business, it's a ministry to help people! And you're not helping a person by letting this or that sin in their lives not be repented for and not be done in the future.
It's nice if a pastor or priest can have some charismatic charm, but really he needs to understand the Word and focus on what it says and how Jesus is leading him.

Amen, I know where you are coming from "Do as I say and not as I do!"

Amen, very good point!
I was surprised nobody wants a politically active pastor, with all the important issues in the US, ie; hate speech, gay marriage, abortion and the like. I'm not talking about a campaigning pastor (for a certain candidate) but one who address the issues.

Wow, what was this poll open for, five minutes?
in order of importance, imho:
1)Good Character
2)Ready to accept the Change (specifically the change that God brings)
3)Proactive
4)Good relationships with people
5)Participate in politics - I think he should vote - and I very much think he should speak out when moral issues such as abortion and homosexuality become political.

A pastor should be of exceptional charactor. He must also be willing to submit or be Pastored by another above him. By this he is accountable, not only to God but for his tempory actions.
He should teach practiacl messgaes and speak the truth not fluffy inspirational messages. Remember we are the ministers, we must be taught how to do so. Na inspiration may lift your spirit but does not show you how to apply it.
He she be willing to release members into the others area's or miisions without feeling he will not have as much athourity.
He should also be involed in politics, it becomes very important to have the ear of the right person in Goverment.
He should also be building and growing in significance. Pastors die very day without a mark left on the earth.
We need more Pastor's that are "Christ-like", then just mere men.
You should be able to smell the spirit in him, and see the friuts in is life.
When you find one you will know, protect him, serve himas thoiugh serving Christ and Bless him, because you can be called blessed.
I am fortunate to have a Pastor like this.
