I have recently been promoted to Supervisor, and assigned to help out in this room. So let me tell you a little bit about myself.
I am 44 years old, soon to be 45. I have been married 19 years. As of July 3, 2007, it will be 20 years. I have been with my wife for 22 years altogether. We have one son who is 19 going on 30. :D I originally gave my life to the Lord when I was 12 years old. 1974, I still remember that day. Two years later a so-called "friend," introduced me to "pot" and the rest is history. I walked away from the Lord and did not come back until I was 38. 24 years wasted away! Anywho, I came back to the Lord on a bright spring day in 1998. And I've never regreted one single minute of it.
I work third shift for a major Southern city. I joined the Marine Corps in 1981. Where I trained as a Military Policeman. I have been to the Med, on my required "cruise." The reason I work 3rd shift is because I suffered a heat-stroke during basic training. I went to basic training during the hottest time of the year at Paris Island S.C. I trained from July thru Oct. (What was I thinking. )
I was raised an Independant Baptist. I have since joined a Southern Baptist church. In 2000, I was asked by my church to become a Deacon. And in June of 2000, I was ordained a Deacon of Crowders Mountain Baptist Church. I have served in various duties to the church. Deacon, Brotherhood Dir., Youth Dir., Adult Sunday School teacher, Sunday School Dir., Chairman of the Deacons, Pastoral Care Minister, and for a year, served as a Minister for Hospice. I have also served as Associate Pastor.
In 2002, I felt the call of the Lord to preach the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. I enrolled in seminary extension classes and in 2004, where I majored in Systematic Theology, Theology, and I received a diploma in Pastoral Ministries. The equivelent of an Associates degree.
I am now about 9 classes away from receiving my Advanced Diploma. After this, I hope to enroll in Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. They have an extension campus not far from where I live and work. I have already talked to them and they give the impression that I will be accepted into their Masters of Theology program.
And there you have it. If you have any questions for me, please feel free to ask and I'll try to answer them as best as I can.
I hope I can be worthy of you good Christians and earn your respect.
I promise to be as fair and impartial as humanly possible.
And so, let me offer this blessing from me to you:
"The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace." -Num. 6:24-26 (KJV)
God Bless
Till all are one.
