The Lord Himself spoke and said "Why do you call Me Lord and do not do the things I say."
In another place He said "If you love me keep my commandments."
The words that He spoke teach us how to behave.
There is also His own will, which is good.
If anyone wants to be subject to the Lord, or if any man or woman is in Christ and wants to do His will, you may go to Him and ask Him about these things:
1. What His will is.
2. How to do His will.
3. You may ask Him for help to do His will.
Please remember that Jesus is your king. It is good to go to Him for advise, counseling, and to do what He wants you to do.
May God bless you in the name of His Son Jesus Christ.

What Christ wants us to do is to abide in him.

What is so wonderful about this truth, is that in Jesus Christ, we have the power to be obedient.

This thread reminds me of a passage for which, lately, I've been able to find SO much application.
Ezekiel 1:28b-2:2 [Ezekiel as just seen a vision of the glory of God] "Such was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. And when I saw it, I fell on my face, and I heard the voice of one speaking. And he said to me, "Son of man, stand on your feet, and I will speak with you." And as he spoke to me, the Spirit entered into me and set me on my feet, and I heard him speaking to me."
Ezekiel was overcome by God and fell down. Then God commanded him to stand up. But God didn't wait for Ezekiel to stand up. God stood him up Himself. Ezekiel was obedient because God gave him that grace when he was powerless.
God never gives us [christians] a command for which He does not give us the grace necessary to obey.

Is Christ's authority found by personal experience with Him? Are there any other sources of authority to which you turn?

Hi Lel, you'll probably get varied responses for this; personally I rely on my experience with Jesus because we have the Holy Spirit to guide us, and it's all about a relationship with Him. I believe that everything the Bible says is true, so I turn to it as well, and pray for the correct understanding.
There are Christians who turn to the church for authority, but they also believe that God has the highest authority, they just believe that He uses church tradition as well as the Bible in communicating to us. It's not up to me to say what He uses and what He doesn't use, I don't want to put God in a box. I've experienced Him through personal experience (by the Spirit), and He has used the Bible and other people to communicate with me as well.
I hope I've answered your question.
