I've read a book on Elder Cleopa and was really taken by him. When i discovered the videos below, i was taken away seeing him in motion.
I thought I'd share these with you guys, although one video is in Romanian (i think that's what it is), but it's still nice to see him.

LOL.. ya he was going a little wild there. Then again, many cultures are like that and it's pretty normal for them.
When i read the book about him (Shepard of Souls), i did not imagine Elder Cleopa like this, lols... when i saw his video, i was surprised and thought his way of talking was really hilarious.

Yes, it's Romanian. I'll try to translate it... Maybe James can help. After all it's his favorite dialect ;)
You can find more videos on http://www.ortodoxtv.com/interviuri-video.php . Just click where you see "Cleopa" :)

It's not just my favourite, it's the only type of Romanian I can understand well. I struggle much more with 'standard' Romanian. I'm also firmly of the opinion that God favours it - just look how many important monasteries there are in Moldova and Bucovina. You practically can't walk 100 metres without coming across one.

I will certainly look them up. I had no idea that yyou could find videos of him. I hear and read qabout him all the time, but I never thought I'd actually se him like this.

Father Cleopa addresses us
About Romanian Christianity and about death
-Father, this man came from America to see you, and…
-I’m a rot, filth (…)
-Aha
-I’m a rotten, sinner, bad old man. I don’t have…
-Then how are we, if you…
-You are great people! How can I compare myself to you?
-„<< Mr prime minister, I’m a rot, a rotten old man. I can’t give advices to a prime minister governing the country. >>
<< No! I won’t leave until you give me an advice. I know how many books you’ve written. >>” He told me he was from Bassarabia and his great grand parents were bishops and priests.
- Vacaroiu’s? His ancestors were priests?
- Yes, yes. That’s what he told me.
- Yes.
- Continue your story about that man.
- Yes. “<< I won’t leave>>”. He stood right beside me. (…)
- “<< Mr prime minister, the advice I’m going to give you will come not from me, but from the Emperor of Words. >>
<< Who is that? >>
<< Saint Basil The Great. That’s how the Church calls him: The Eye of The Church, The Fiery Mouth of The Holy Spirit and The Emperor of Words. What does he say? >>”
He attended schools in Alexandria and Athens. Together with a philosopher, Eugos. He then finished the major studies and he took Saint Gregory of Gregory Nazianzus with him…
- His friend.
- And he went in the desert and stayed there for 13 years. In order to have life experience (…) And when he left the desert, he constructed 10 hospitals called basilides (?), which were both hospitals and monasteries. One side for monks, one for the sick. Or one side for nuns, one side for sick women.
“And”, I continue, “ one day, when he was the bishop of that city in Cappadocia, Eugos came to him.
<<Oh, Basil, >> he said, << we’ve learned together so many years in school! Now you tell me which is the greatest wisdom! Which is the one wisdom that guards man from all sins? >> (…)
<<Oh, Eugos, the greatest wisdom of all, which guards man from all sins and leads him to eternal happiness is to always see death before him! >>”
- So that’s what you’ve told Vacaroiu?
- Yes. “<< And to bear in mind the Jesus prayer. >>” But his wife:
“<< See, see? You must remember death because you like the discos. You must repent! >>”
- Haha. He likes the discos! Haha
- And the others were laughing. I was talking and she was writing. And I’ve talked to them for three and half hours.
“<< (…) Father, you were inspired! >>
<< What are you talking about, Mr prime minister? Do you see this little country, Romania? It’s not too big, but not too small. It has about 20 millions (of inhabitants). But our Orthodox Christian origins date back 2000 years ago! We are of apostolic origin. >>
<< What? >>
<< Let me tell you! In 104 AD, when the colonists, eh, the Romans came to Transylvania, in Tapae, in Sarmizegetusa, to defeat Decebalus, (the archaeologists) found a lighter which is displayed at The Military Museum in Bucharest: the lighter of Zenobius, a golden lighter with Christ’s Crucifixion. In Rome…>>”. You see, three years ago, I visited Rome. I saw the head of Saint Peter The Apostle, on a golden tray, and Saint Paul the Apostle besides him. After 26 years of spreading Christianity, starting in Jerusalem, he died with his head downwards, crucified in Rome. And when they beheaded Paul, the head jumped like this, like this, like this. (…) And three water springs appeared. I saw them in Saint Paul’s Cathedral in Rome with golden channels now.
Then, “<<Sir, here, in Scytia Minor, in Dobrogea, Andrew The Apostle, The First Called, Peter’s brother was the one to spread Christianity. He also was crucified. And this is what I want to tell you: From Nero to Constantine the Great there were 6 millions of martyrs in Rome and Asia, in Africa, in Cartagena. >>” And then I said:
“What more can I tell you now, that we have been talking for three hours? This is what I say, Mr prime minister. Let us see how… how many connections there were between the governors of the country and the leadership of the Church. Starting 2000 years ago, when we became Christians. >>”
- You must be the leader of such a country..
- Wait! Wait! I’ve told him: “<< Remember Mircea The Great? He had been governing Dobrogea and Oltenia and Valachia for 27, no, 37 years. And he had built the monastery of Cozia where his wife and the others and all his family are also buried. Near the church there is a very beautiful crypt…
There it is written: “Here leys the servant of God the nun Teofana, the mother of Michael the Brave” He conquered Transylvania and Moldavia and Valachia and his mother – a nun.
The End.

You've done a pretty good job. There's not much I'd want to correct except some of the idioms, which sound non-English. Even then, though, I've seen much worse. Some of the articles on www.sfaturiortodoxe.ro (http://www.sfaturiortodoxe.ro), for instance are easier to read in Romanian than English because the translations are so odd.
The only thing that I definitely would want to correct is the translation you have made of opait. It's a lamp, not a lighter. A lighter would be something used for lighting fires, not for casting light. That's the only error I can see that would make the translation difficult to understand. I can correct the idiom for you as well if you wish, though.

You want me to correct it to make it sound more English, then? Here or would you rather I PM'd you it? Honestly, it's not going to be a huge number of changes, just things like where you use plurals that are singular in English (it's 'advice' even though 'sfaturi' is plural, for instance) and similarly small changes. It really won't make any difference to the meaning, even for a native English speaker, but I'll certainly do it if you wish.
