The Bible list 3 classifications of believers.
They are Children of God, Young men of God, and Men of God.
My question would be if you looked into the mirror, what classification are you?
Think hard before you answer, as the Men of God in the bible could and did, through the Holy Spirit, miracles. They included all of those which the Holy Spirit said you can do, when you reach that point. Healing, Speaking in Tongues, Raising the dead, Translating Tongues, Prophesying, Etc.
How many of us Christians do these things today which Jesus said ALL believers can and should do. Even greater than what Jesus did!!
Matthew 13:18 talks about believers in depth. He goes on to explain the process in which a child of God grows through maturity, and then in verse 23 those who are called men of God become Truth Bearers, bringing more and more Christians into His fold.

Too much division exists in the Church Body these days. It is sad that so many are seeking that same thing, but remain locked in carnality. They think a person can sin. They redefine sin. They proclaim prophesy by setting dates, doctrines, and all sorts of apostasy, trying to lure believers into a "false" Truth. They teach that Paul proclaimed something "new" to the Gentiles. The only thing by actually reading Paul's letters and such that I see as "new", is that the Gentile has as much "right" now as the "Jew" to be called by God. Pretty simple in my understanding. They proclaim that Jesus and His teachings don't apply to them, literally. It is no wonder that so many are lost, as the message changes from "church" to "church", all the while it was Jesus who proclaimed the Truth. He said, if you ask, you WILL receive. Not carnally minded houses, cars, boats, money, and all the stuff of the carnal mind. You really think He cares about these things, while sprinkling His Blood on the Mercy seat of God? He was talking about that which you NEED to discern Truth from Lies.

If people just listened to what Jesus's Message was to the World, how much better would this world be? Trust in Him, as He is the One who sets you free. Not anyone else, period. Apostasy is running rampant these days, as the Gospel is watered down. We as Christians allow teachers to teach that which Jesus didn't teach. In other words, they are tickling ears of todays believers.

We as Christians want our ears tickled. We don't want to know that sin is wrong, as we go about our daily lives. We don't want to know that we are to be hated for Jesus's sake. We don't want to know that the Way to Heaven is a very narrow path. We don't want to hear His message, as we want , want, want. Our egos have to be laid at the Cross at Calvary. Our lives should be for serving Him, just as He served us.

Trying to live in this environment is so hard these days, as we are bombarded with temptation from every direction, and knowing this is how our carnal minds actually want to live; the "preachers", "teachers", and "pastors" who are supposed to be our Spiritual Guidance actually get fellow Christians who are Children of God into believing a LIE. Ask for anything, and your "genie" will give it to you. Then when you don't "get" it, you were not a "good" enough Child of God. They say you need to give more money, or that you need to support better, or anything that goes against the Word of God.

Jesus said point blank in as simple of terms possible.
I AM the WAY. I am the TRUTH. I AM the LIFE.
You will be hated, despised, and even killed for MY NAME'S SAKE.
You must pick up that Cross and Follow ME.
The road you begin to travel, will be HARD, and NARROW.

But He Loves You! HE LOVES YOU!
You who look into that mirror, no matter what you look like. No matter what you have done. No matter what anyone tells you. No MATTER WHAT! Jesus sees a Child of God looking into the Mirror. My question would be, what do you see? If you see a Child of God, do you act like it? Live like it? Proclaim it! When you talk about it, is it the same message that He taught? I love this excellence as Truth is Love!

The Excellence of Love

1st Cor 13:

1If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
2If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.
3And if I give all my possessions to feed the poor, and if I surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love, it profits me nothing.
4Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant,
5does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered,
6does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;
7bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away.
9For we know in part and we prophesy in part;
10but when the perfect comes, the partial will be done away.
11When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things.
12For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known.

James 1:
21Therefore, putting aside all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save your souls. 22But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves.
23For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror;
24for once he has looked at himself and gone away, he has immediately forgotten what kind of person he was.

So then I ask, when you look into the Mirror, what do you see? Is it that which is worthy to be called a Child, Young Man/Woman, or Man/Woman of God. This is something every time we brush our teeth, comb our hair, and look in the mirror, we should be asking ourselves. Is it, " it's Jesus time", or is it, "it's my time"? Love to ALL. In Jesus's name!

I beg to differ -

There is only the believer and the unbeliever in the NT.

I am a believer.

Sounds to me like you've already passed judgement on if others aren't like you. So not sure why the post.

All through the letters, and more importantly 1st John, you see that there are certain levels of learning in Christ. John tell the children to abstain from idols, not to sin, and to follow the Truth. A child is a person who has asked Jesus for forgiveness of their sins. 2:12. A young man is one who has overcome sin, and ceases from doing sin any longer. The Word abides in them, and they are stronger for God's sake, and are continuing in that journey. A Man of God, is one who knows, and I mean KNOWS, God, on a personal deep level, as the Holy Spirit abides fully in them. 2:13, and 2:14.

Now I can acknowledge that I am a Child of God. My sins Have been forgiven. Do I still sin, yes, so I haven't reached that level of a Young Man of God. But it is getting easier by the day. But it takes a sincere effort on my part. I look in my mirror and say, "IT IS JESUS TIME!" I know I do not have the Holy Spirit fully in my life. This I can be assured of, as when it happens, you know it. I might have the Spirit of Truth guiding me, but I can tell you point blank, that no miracles have happened around me, or through me. So this tells me, that that level is something yet to be attained, for myself.

I am not judging anyone. It is not my place to do so. But I will rebuke apostasy when I see it. This I do judge. The Bible isn't some sort of mystery that no one outside of Paul can lay out. It is the same message that has been there since the beginning. God loves us. It is the only religion that we get to call God, Father. He isn't just my God, He is my everything. I only hope to be that which He desires me to be as His child. If anything I wrote is heresy, call me on it. Don't sit there and say what I write is that which you cannot back up. I back mine up.

A child in greek can mean so many things, but also this, which is me right now concerning God. Jesus said in Matt 18:3 that you MUST come unto Him like CHILDREN! Put off that intellectual cap for a moment, and listen to His Word, bask in His LOVE, and learn to be who it is who were meant to be.

children

fathers=
