This has been posted at www.oca.org

PITTSBURGH, PA [OCA Communications] -- His Eminence, Archbishop Kyrill of Pittsburgh, Western Pennsylvania, and the Bulgarian Diocese fell asleep in the Lord on Sunday morning, June 17, 2007.
Archbishop Kyrill, who had been in failing health for the past year, had been admitted to the hospital for treatment during the week of June 10, 2007.
On Saturday, June 16, clergy from throughout his diocese gathered at the hospital to celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Unction. Archimandrite Pitirim [Stehnach], who for many years had served as Archbishop Kyrill's aide, was with him at the hospital.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete, but will be posted as soon as they become available.
Please remember Archbishop Kyrill in liturgical and private prayer.
May Archbishop Kyrill's memory be eternal!

I had met Vladyka personally on a number of ocassions and love him dearly. He was always so gracious to me and treated me so well. He had my x-wife and I over for coffee a number of years ago and was a joyful host. It is with great sadness that I read this. May his memory be eternal! God grant you many years Vladyka! As for Fr. Petrim, he is a jolly soul! He once paid me one of the biggest compliments I have ever receieved in relation to my iconography!

The loss of Vladyka KYRILL is a great one to all of the faithful entrusted to his care. Especially those of us who knew him personally.

I got an official confirmation that the Funeral will be on Thursday at 7:00 P.M. at St Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Allison park, PA. The next day we're having a liturgy (I'm assuming at 10:00) and the internment will be at Holy Transfiguration Monastery in Ellwood city, PA.

Please keep Vladyka in your prayers for the departed. May his memory be eternal.

In Christ,
Reader Nikolai

P.S. If anyone is planning on attending, know that it will be packed. The latest news is that the entire Synod of the OCA will be there, as well as plenty of other Bishops, and possibly even both the Patriarch and King of Bulgaria.
