What if......Lucifer hadn't rebelled against God and been thrown out of Heaven and became satan......where would we all be now?
Would Jesus still have needed to come to earth? Would we all still be living in the Garden of Eden ???
Any thoughts ????

I think we would be living in Eden, yes, and we'd all be naked, and none of us would know right from wrong.

I agree with holo. If Lucifer had never fallen, who would there be to deceive Eve and Adam?

Although, the tree of Good & Evil would have still been in the garden. Even with no tempter, there is still the possibility that Adam and/or Eve would have decided to eat of it, at a later date. So, even without Satan's help, we could still be in the same boat as we are now.

Yeah, if the serpent was actually Lucifer, then no one would have gotten Adam and Eve interested to want more than their idyllic Life in the Garden of Eden.
But, God wanted us to get out of the Garden.
Because, with no evil, why would someone ever need Christ?
I invite Jesus into my Life to counter-act the other forces.
I invite Jesus into my heart to feel His Love for me.
I have friends and relatives who Love me too.
I need that Love to counter-act the other forces.

I'm not just saying this to play devil's advocate or something like that, but I find that the "what if" thing is spiritually dangerous. Revelation (not the book) has been given to us in light of our sin. We only know God in light of salvation from sin. Nothing has been revealed from the standpoint of us having not sinned.
I am not just trying to sound super spiritual. Please don't think that I am.

The question...what if....was actually put to me by a friend and I said I'd bring it to the forum to see what reaction I'd get. This person does not come to the forum....

Who is Lucifer and where in the Bible does is show he rebelled against God, was thrown out of heaven, and became Satan?
Curiously,

I like you, OldChurchGuy. :)
First off, God set the tree in the garden for a reason. It was to give his greatest gift to humanity. Choice. See, God wants us to choice to love him. He could force his love on us, but that's rape, and isn't what God wants. It broke his heart when he found out that his creation decided to choose sin rather than him, but he knew what it meant. He knew from the beginning that his Son had to die, IF we chose sin. The real "what if" question is: What if we had chosen God from the beginning?

Well, my understanding has always been that Lucifer is another name for the devil. It was his name before he rebelled and was thrown out of heaven ..... can I quote it from scripture...no....it's just the story I was always told. I'm not good at quoting scripture at the best of times....it was just a simple question.....

Dear Annie,
fun to think in what if's however we can only go with the scriptures as given to us.
It's very possible/probably that Adam and Eve would've sinned and so we'd be in a fallen state and the curse given as well.
I do know when I am tempted for the most part, it is my own mind and thoughts, not satans. So, we have great propensity to sin without any external force.

Temptation cames from our own sinful desires. Nothing causes us to sin, in fact, we can avoid sin. Jesus was the perfect example of how to stay away from sin and remove temptation.

This is when I get out of the comfort zone and deem this to be WAY OVER MY HEAD. Im a simple gal when it comes to the hard ???cuz I am at peace that I'll meet my maker and that Jesus will return my call;) .. I do ask about things like this at times, just to make sure Im still in the same corner as God is.
