Joined the church!!!

I finally joined the church!! The service was last week!!!:clap: :clap: I am now a methodist!!!:D :) :cool:

Great to be a member of the church. I guess I would ask, why you joined the church? What did you or do you expect to gain by joining the church?

These are not put down questions. I am not presently the member of any church, although I have been at different times a member of the Church of the Nazarene, the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada, The Christian & Missionary Alliance, and the United Evangelical Missionary Church. I think it was a good thing in some cases, while in other churches I wondered what I gained. In most of the churches I did as much while not a member as I did when I became a member. Membership does give one somewhat of voice in the church government etc. Church membership does give one a sense of belonging, there is always strength in numbers, which is good if the membership's doctrines are truly biblical based and lived up.

Of course, there is no saving grace in being a member. I am not necessarily called to be a church member but to be a follower of Christ.

The best thing about being a member of a church family is the fellowship with other believers. :groupray:

Church membership has nothing to do with salvation but it has a lot to do with grace in my opinion. It is wonderful to have a place to plug in to be a blessings to others. Some of my favorite versus are Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 It starts by saying two are better than one and ends reminding us that a threefold cord is not easily broken.

As the creed says... welcome to the communion of saints.:hug:
