Annual Conference is the Ruling body of the each conference. (Interestingly enough, North Carolina has two conferences, the North Carolina Conference and the Western North Carolina Conference Why it isn't East and west, I don't know ). And this year is a voting year for General Conference which is held every 4 years and is the only organization that can speak for the United Methodist church.
Not much is happened so far, 4 people have been elected to general Conference but the real fun starts at resolutions.
We have some anti-abortion and anti-war resolutions this year, so many discussions may get heated.
Anything else comes up, I'll tell you.
