I'm not sure how to answer...
I went to church, VBS, camp, etc, when I was younger, and accepted Christ and was baptized in July of 1993 (I was 9). But throughout much of junior high and high school, I didn't have a clue - I completely gave up on God, didn't care...I didn't consider myself a Christian anymore at that point.
My senior year, God really started working in my life, through some amazing people, and I began to seek Him again, and I rededicated my life to Christ on July 5, 2001...
So I think I'd have to go with less than a year...cause even though I knew about it, I definitely feel as if I've really just learned about God's grace for the first time, and it's so awesome :D

I became a Christian about 22 years ago. Wow! That kinda seems like a long time. 22 years... I was six. When I asked if I could my parents made me explain what that meant, why I wanted to be, and how I do it. From then they taught me that it's important to spend time with God in the word and in prayer. I had a little "selective hearing" problem with God in my late teens... In other words I could hear what God was telling me but wouldn't listen. I bounced back in my early 20's. I just can't live without Him!

My walk slow and intereting one.
I started in kindergarten, about 8 years ago. I started getting really serious about my faith about a year ago. I stopped watching The Simpsons, SouthPark, and any other bad television show. I stopped listening to most secular music, and started listening to almost all Christian music.
I've noticed a lot of change in my life, and I thank God to this day for all of it.

I was baptised a Christian shortly after birth, and grew up in a caring, nurturing Christian environment. I attended a Christian school, which I believe helped me to keep on walking in the light. When I hit the Australian equiv. of college, I kind of veered off - not in a huge way, though - for a little, and I am now back, walking with my saviour. And I must say I am glad for that.
SO - even counting my year or so of 'forgetting' God, I have been a Christian for about 19 years.

December 2nd right right near 7:00 PM year 2001.. I know this because I became a Christian just when the mission meeting our pastor was having began.. And then i went to the meeting! It was nice. So I guess 1 and 1/2 years, eh?
Christianity is an interesting thing, just 1 and a half years and I have had some amazing experiences, both good and bad, I even nearly let myself lose Christ, but I held on and am strong with him again.
And speaking in tounges! Baptised in the Holy Spirit and sked for the gift of tounges.
It's an interesting thing, and so full of love!

a lot of ppl have probs with spkg in tongues. i am glad you have gotten to do it at an early age... how does it edify you in your spiritual life?
Globexgirl
1st August 2003, 10:27 PM
I haven't gotten it entirely, I went on a Mission trip and a lot of the Missionaries I went with could do it, and I was very curious so they told me all about Spiritual gifts and getting baptised in the Holy Spirit and stuff. And then sometime throughout the week I was baptised in the holy spirit, and I asked for the gift od speaking in tounges. I haven't gotten it fully, I still have only a few words and phrases that I've become used to and can recognize. my first word/syllable was ha....
Hmmmmm, how does it edify me in my spiritual life..? It's kind of hard to explain. Like, one doesn't just blurt out something in tounges, but when I am praying or I am feeling a deep emotion I will just be overcome to the point that I will say something in tounges. It just encourages me, I guess, reminds me that God is here in my life and is by my side through everything.
I don't like to pray in tounges around other people, because I know what it's like to not be able to. It's just, if I pray in a language they can't understand, how do they know what I am saying? They don't, I don't, and if you don't understand it or spiritual gifts at all, it could just come off as something really bad. I do, sometimes, but not all that often, around my friends because they know that I can. At first I talked about it a lot, but I don't as much anymore. I don't want to come off as bragging or something like that, because I'm not, I was just excited. I was very excited not only about that, btu about the whole mission trip and God and everything.

I have been a Christian since I was 12 (I'm 45 now). While this was a life-changing experience and gave me peace and purpose, I got to know God a lot better about 6 yrs ago when my church went through the "Experiencing God" series. My relationship with God really improved and it seems that a lot of my prayers have been answered in ways that could not have been coincidence. I sometimes find myself in "David and Goliath" situations, and I just pray and go in with confidence, and God always takes care of it. You can plan and plan and you think you're ready to take on something, but if you don't turn it over to Him, you'll fall flat on your face.

I was saved over 30 years ago, and although at times I felt terribly alone I knew Jesus was always with me, I've learned you can't count on your feelingsyou just have to keep on beliving, and never no matter what the circumstances may look like know Jesus will get you through it.

I became a christian August 19th, 2002. Its been a bit over a year now. And, I'm 100% a different person already, and I still have a long way to go. I've matured the most after the last four months though, since I started going hanging out and listening to other christians basically.

The world was a much more dismal place... no joy. I thought i had the perfect life, but never dreamed of all i was missing; couldn't even fathom it.
Also, the non-christian life is very satisfying for the flesh... when u want something, u get/take it now, no waiting for rewards in heaven... But looking back now, all those rewards were so pointless...
Also purposes (for life) are so superficial, but they seem so BIG, even knowing their shallowness. (Getting a good job, making money, etc) were so important, but they didn't really get u anywhere...you still go through life then die... like i said, very dismal view of life.
So glad I have a God-filter to look at everything through now! It removes distortion... :D

Well, that's a kind of tricky question since I grew up in a Christian family. Attended a Christian school. Attended Sunday School and Church as a child, etc.
I would say that I got serious about it around the age of 15 but the love for God was already there. The foundation had already been built by my parents. I'd have to say though that 15 is when I made the first steps on my own.

PRAISE THE LORD!!!!
"Thank-you for saving me, what can I say, you are my everything and I will sing your praise."
Father, thank-you so much that you reached down into the pit that I had dug myself into. Thank-you that you arm was not to short. Thank-you that you reached down and saved me Lord. Father I pray that you would help me to grow in a big way in my faith. Use me, bless me and encourage me. I pray that I would be a link in the chain to see many people to come to faith. I pray that many people would be built up, encouraged and blessed through me and that all the glory, honour and power would go to you. In your name, Amen

Well for me that's kinda hard to answer. You see I was brought up in a christian home. Dad associate Pastor and mom in women's ministry. I felt like I probably did when I was younger but never took my relationship with God serious. I guess just the last couple of yrs. of my life I have given it over to God. I know it's a daily thing. I just don't have a number figure. Oh God thank you for your GRaCe!!!

Forty-five years and counting. I feel sure of my salvation but open to change and growth. I find a daily need for humility.
What is that psalm--"What shall I render unto the Lord for all his benefits? I shall lift up the cup of salvation and call upon the name of the Lord."
We express gratitude by asking for more. That is from a sermon a mentor preached when I was a student at university. It still rings as true as when the Presbyterain chaplain preached the gospel.

While definately falling way short of any really scientific standards, yet this poll, so far, shows some interesting things to ponder:
% of believers by decade (kinda):
0-10 44.34%
11-20 24.95%
21-35 18.76%
36-50 5.54%
over 50 1.28%
(this last might well be eliminated by reason of biological necessity, i.e. era of highest mortality)
Note that each division drops by nearly half each time.
IF we assume that approximately the same #s of people are saved in the early years of their life (which, in fact, statistics elsewhere do show - i.e. that the vast majority of salvations happen before one turns 30) what is happening that more and more people loose faith as they get older??
Or does this suggest something else??
What a graphic demonstration of the scripture that talks about running the race to the finish!!

I'd like to comment here, I don't use the same terminology as christendom, but I can't imagine my life without Jehovah in it?
As soon as I wake I think about HIM, and am contantly aware all day of passages of The Bible..it is as much a part of me as my breath.
How do people wake and face a day without HIM?

I was raised in a family that did not talk much about God. I for some reason would talk/pray to Him all the time. Times were tough as a child and He was the one I would cry to or just release my thoughts to. I had no one else that I wanted to share my sad thoughts and hard times with. So I can honesty say I have been a Christian since I was a wee little girl. I was saved in 1994, but in my heart I was always Gods child and I knew that early on. I am really proud that I knew Him in my own way, He pulled me through a lot of hard times.

Don't worry, F-Ding! I believe that your parents will respect your decisions. If you feel that they do not respect the deicisions you have made, approach them in a graceful manner and remind them that you love them. Do not approach them in an "I'm right and you're wrong!" manner, but instead with love.
My parents have not always agreed with my decisions, but have respected them because of the manner which I have replied and approached them with

I became a Christian when I was in junior high. I grew up in church so Christ was very much a part of my life since before I was born. I went to a church camp one year, and we were asked the question... "When is your "rebirthday?" Well, I actually had to think about that... I really never had prayed the sinners prayer, although I believed everything there was in it. So I walked the aisle so that I too could have a "rebirthday".
However, on September 19, 2004... I rededicated my life... because this time, I wanted to follow Jesus, because I wanted to become a new creature IN HIM.
