Let me give you an example

Matthew 16:19 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew%2016:19%20;&version=49;) contains a footnote to Isaiah 22:22 (http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Isaiah%2022:22%20;&version=49;), and vice versa, for catholics or Ortodox this passage should be obvious, but for others this passage may not mean a lot.

Let me explain, in Isaiah 22 there is a cabinet of 12 ministers but only one minister is elected and given the keys of the kingdom (keys mean authority), in Matthew 16 Jesus gives only Peter and his apostolic descendent the keys of the kingdom (http://www.ourcatholicfaith.org/thechurch.html), this passages and others shows the importance of the position the Holy Father plays in christianity. In other words the Holy Father holds the position of Prime minister in the kingdom of GOD, as any other monarchy till this day also only has 1 prime minister.

Anyway the point about this post is to let you know about the important footnotes on this bible version.
