we are going thru the book of Romans and this was the portion he read from
Romans 12:9 - 13:1 9 Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good. 10 Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor; 11 not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; 12 rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer, 13 contributing to the needs of the saints, practicing hospitality. 14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and curse not. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. 16 Be of the same mind toward one another; do not be haughty in mind, but associate with the lowly. Do not be wise in your own estimation. 17 Never pay back evil for evil to anyone. Respect what is right in the sight of all men. 18 If possible, so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men. 19 Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay," says the Lord. 20 "But if your enemy is hungry, feed him, and if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in so doing you will heap burning coals upon his head." 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
of course you can imagine how much this spoke to me this week
Spirit Filled Rabbis are such a blessing to our lives:hug::hug::hug:

Our congregation doesn't have a rabbi - by choice. All males over the age of 13 have a turn at expounding on the readings for the day. After the formal service is over then all are welcome to discuss over the meal.

My Rabbi is Yeshua. He gave up his mortal life for me. I still read his words and they give life to my soul. :prayer:

The Holy Spirit quite often speaks to me through other people...sometimes those people are rabbis.
I feel sorry for those of you who haven't had the very distinct advantage of a healthy congregation with a humble leader. Yes, we can hear from the Holy Spirit as a lone ranger but there is a reason why the Word tells us not to forsake the assembly of the saints...and within every kahal there are those who have been given authority to lead because of the humility of serving stubborn sheep.
Sometimes those people are rabbis...;)

Yod , knows my Rabbi and can vouch probably for this but He is a man who wants to see Yeshua's name lifted up in all the world, and especially with in the Jewish nation, and IN US
That is sooooooo much the message I have been hearing lately that Yeshua wants to breath on us again and equip us again to be witnesses FIRST to the Jew but not only,... also to the world...
and how? Thru Vessels filled with this kind of love Romans talks about......
A few nights ago he did a lecture at my Christian Church (he teaches there quite often), and using this idea in Romans again (I could see it shining thru the whole teaching) and he taught us all about the Dead Sea Scrolls...yes yes thats right...It was a facinating historical discovery and personal discovery all at once:clap: and how also our witness to the Jews is magnified with this discovery .....My church is huge mind you but there were over 300 maybe over 400 people at this lecture and we all left feeling a love and burden for the Jews who need their Messiah....
(for those who dont know I go to both a MJ Synagogue and a Mega Christian Church, as ABBA lead our family to do both)

Hi YOD,
I agree totally. Those who are Rabbis and bless us in this way are usually believing Rabbis who present Yeshua, not Rabbinical Rabbis who represent Rabbinical -non-believing Judaism. That is the one distinction I would make. God did not place unbelieving men within the church over the body of Messiah. The leaders of the church are first and foremost believers, spiritually mature, proven in the faith, stable in life having their children under control and the husband of one woman, (not divorced and remarried). If we are fellowshipping in a nonbelieving-synagogue, then we are not going to receive much to help us grow in Messiah, unless we make the connection in our own spirits connecting the truth from Judaism to faith in Yeshua .
I really miss having a home church here where I live now. There are only Christian churches and their corrupt doctrines. I have tried to get motivated to attend just to be in fellowship with believers, something that I truly miss, but I can not bear to endure their anti-semetic antinomial rhetoric. They still consider Jews to be "Christ-Killers" amd all evil men. They eat anything that crawls or swims centered mostly on the "Other white meat" Pork, a main dish in the south. Those who have a believing Judaic fellowship have something precious indeed. Soon I will be travelling back to Washington state for a visit and will spead a couple sabbaths with the congregation I helped to estabish there. In fact you may have been there once, (Bet Hashem, in Ferndale Washington.) It is closely associated with Timm Heggs church, and Berkowitz in the Pacific N.W. and draws much of its current teaching curriculum from FFOZ.

Long before I came to my congregation, our rabbi and his wife left for another field.
There were two sets of elders who took things from there, and picked men who had the right Spirit and His leading, and call them up to teach what G-d has given them.
We have added another elder and wife to the team, and things couldn't be better.
We're growing, and now there are many little children, which is a joy (and makes me so sad to leave!)!
We learn the parasha typically, but also things here and there.
I also enjoy learning from our women.
This past week we had a talk about ministry to each other & Lashon Hara, a break from our typical Parashah study, but it was read as usual. :)
I've really missed our Shabbat Midrashim, which is currently exiting the Exodus, which has been a 2+year venture, and so much fun and very interesting. :)
