To Kippah or not to Kippah (http://www.aish.com/spirituality/LoriAlmostLive/To_Kippah_Or_Not_to_Kippah$.asp)

Less than two minutes, thought some here might enjoy this.

I'm sure some here will object to you posting that, but personally I found it very interesting. I think she made some good points.

Thanks for the link! I watched and enjoyed several of her other videos too.

I also found this interesting and illuminating. I am wondering if our gentlemen agree with her views? Love to hear your views!

I think it's true that men struggle more with arrogance, but on the other hand, I think we women struggle more with mean-spiritedness & manipulation tactics.

I think the cure is the same for both genders, though.....to remember that God is in control, not us.

Hmm, that was an interesting video.
Where is the word kippah from anyway?
I grew up calling them yarmulkes - strange spelling - we pronounced it yah muh kuh with the accent on the yah part.
I think it is funny that she said a man without a kippah thinks he is God. I think we all tend to have either over or underinflated senses of self. Either one is wrong because the focus is on our self and not on God. If we are focused on God then we are not worried about our self anyway, but more concerned with Him.

Kippah - hebrew,
Yarmulkes - yiddish

I asked my hubby about it - he says when he wears it he is aware that people will judge all Jews by his actions. Especially since in our part of the country Jews and especially religious Jews are pretty rare. It makes him more aware of his actions (and that he could be a target.) It also means he is a representative of Adonai and that also makes him very concious of his actions.
