I just realized that many of you leave the vowels out..G-D, and L-RD, for example. This is not my custom and I personally do not feel it violates the commandment to fully spell it. However, I am hoping that I did not offend any of you in my other posts (and PM's) as it was not my intention and I do understand your reasoning behind the conviction.

It's okay Jay. No one will be offended. Some of us don't do it at all, and others of us do it from life long habit.

I really don't see it as a big deal since these are not Hebrew letters. It's not a biggy. I don't - out the vowels personally.

I do not block out the vowels either.

I do, but it's more for me than anyone else. I started doing it because I was afraid I'd offend the Jewish posters on this forum (but since they can't really post here anymore it's a moot point). Anyway, I continued because I'm one of those people who used to say "omygod" all the time. By writing the words "G-d" or "L-rd" without the vowels, it Forces me to separate out Him and make Him special. That may not make any sense, but there it is. ;)
