PRE-CONVERSION
(THE NATURAL MAN)
Pre-conversion. A religious experience where the power of sin has not been broken. Christ is drawing the soul to a joyful, complete surrender. The person is being wooed toward conversion.
Pre-conversion, of course, means pre-Christian and is not included in the actual administration of the Sanctuary. The pre-conversion statements are about the person who wants to be a Christian; but has not stepped across the line into full surrender.
Pre-conversion
Matthew 6:24 "No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.

Pre-conversion – Spirit of Prophecy (1)
SC.047.001 Many are inquiring, "How am I to make the surrender of myself to God?" …What you need to understand is the true force of the will. This is the governing power in the nature of man, the power of decision, or of choice. Everything depends on the right action of the will. The power of choice God has given to men; it is theirs to exercise. You cannot change your heart, you cannot of yourself give to God its affections; but you can choose to serve Him. You can give Him your will; He will then work in you to will and to do according to His good pleasure.
ST.1905-07-26.006 Self--the old disobedient nature--must be crucified, and Christ must take up His abode in the heart.
5T.634.002 Come with your whole heart to Jesus. Repent of your sins, make confession to God, forsake all iniquity, and you may appropriate to yourself all His promises.
SC.023.002 Repentance includes sorrow for sin and a turning away from it. We shall not renounce sin unless we see its sinfulness; until we turn away from it in heart, there will be no real change in the life.
ST.1895-06-20.005 He who does not obey the commandments of God is a sinner in the sight of God.
DA.357.002 A spirit contrary to the spirit of Christ would deny Him, whatever the profession. Men may deny Christ by evilspeaking, by foolish talking, by words that are untruthful or unkind. They may deny Him by shunning life's burdens, by the pursuit of sinful pleasure. They may deny Him by conforming to the world, by uncourteous behavior, by the love of their own opinions, by justifying self, by cherishing doubt, borrowing trouble, and dwelling in darkness. In all these ways they declare that Christ is not in them.
4T.084.003 Many would make any and every sacrifice but the very one they should make, which is to yield themselves, to submit their wills to the will of God. Said Christ to His disciples: "Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven." Here is a lesson in humility. We must all become humble as little children in order to inherit the kingdom.
MH.176.001 Many will go down to ruin while hoping and desiring to overcome their evil propensities. They do not yield the will to God. They do not choose to serve Him.
COL.331.002 Let no one say, I cannot remedy my defects of character. If you come to this decision, you will certainly fail of obtaining everlasting life. The impossibility lies in your own will. If you will not, then you can not overcome. The real difficulty arises from the corruption of an unsancti-fied heart, and an unwillingness to submit to the control of God.
MB.016.001 It is the love of self that destroys our peace. While self is all alive, we stand ready continually to guard it from mortification and insult; but when we are dead, and our life is hid with Christ in God, we shall not take neglects or slights to heart. We shall be deaf to reproach and blind to scorn and insult.
RH.1904-03-10.026 He who has not sufficient faith in Christ to believe that he can keep him from sinning, has not the faith that will give him an entrance into the kingdom of God.
MB.143.002 We cannot retain self and yet enter the kingdom of God. If we ever attain unto holiness, it will be through the renunciation of self and the reception of the mind of Christ. Pride and self-sufficiency must be crucified. Are we willing to pay the price required of us? Are we willing to have our will brought into perfect conformity to the will of God? Until we are willing, the transforming grace of God cannot be manifest upon us.
DA.323.002 It is not only by resistance but by neglect that the soul is destroyed.
RH.1908-11-19.008 Now is the time when we are to confess and forsake our sins, that they may go beforehand to judgment and be blotted out.
1T.189.002 Many, I saw, were flattering themselves that they were good Christians, who have not a single ray of light from Jesus. They know not what it is to be renewed by the grace of God. They have no living experience for themselves in the things of God. And I saw that the Lord was whetting His sword in heaven to cut them down. Oh, that every lukewarm professor could realize the clean work that God is about to make among His professed people!
5T.083.001 He "that forsaketh not all that he hath," says Jesus, "cannot be My disciple." Whatever shall divert the affections from God must be given up. Mammon is the idol of many. Its golden chain binds them to Satan. Reputation and worldly honor are worshiped by another class. The life of selfish ease and freedom from responsibility is the idol of others. These are Satan's snares, set for unwary feet. But these slavish bands must be broken; the flesh must be crucified with the affections and lusts. We cannot be half the Lord's and half the world's. We are not God's people unless we are such entirely.
YI.1901-09-26.003 Satan leads people to think that because they have felt a rapture of feeling, they are converted. But their experience does not change. Their actions are the same as before. Their lives show no good fruit. They pray often and long, and are constantly referring to the feelings they had at such and such a time. But they do not live the new life. They are deceived. Their experience goes no deeper than feeling. They build upon the sand, and when adverse winds come, their house is swept away.
6BC.1075 The new birth is a rare experience in this age of the world. This is the reason why there are so many perplexities in the churches. Many, so many, who assume the name of Christ are unsanctified and unholy. They have been baptized, but they were buried alive. Self did not die, and therefore they did not rise to newness of life in Christ.
1T.163.004 The hope of eternal life is not to be received upon slight grounds. It is a subject to be settled between God and your own soul--settled for eternity. A supposed hope, and nothing more, will prove your ruin.
DA.466.003 Every soul that refuses to give himself to God is under the control of another power. He is not his own. He may talk of freedom, but he is in the most abject slavery. He is not allowed to see the beauty of truth, for his mind is under the control of Satan. While he flatters himself that he is following the dictates of his own judgment, he obeys the will of the prince of darkness. Christ came to break the shackles of sin-slavery from the soul. "If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed." "The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus" sets us "free from the law of sin and death." Rom. 8:2.
COL.099.001 Often the question arises, Why, then, are there so many, claiming to believe God's word, in whom there is not seen a reformation in words, in spirit, and in character? Why are there so many who cannot bear opposition to their purposes and plans, who manifest an unholy temper, and whose words are harsh, overbearing, and passionate? There is seen in their lives the same love of self, the same selfish indulgence, the same temper and hasty speech, that is seen in the life of the worldling. There is the same sensitive pride, the same yielding to natural inclination, the same perversity of character, as if the truth were wholly unknown to them. The reason is that they are not converted.
SC.063.002 When we speak of faith, there is a distinction that should be borne in mind. There is a kind of belief that is wholly distinct from faith. The existence and power of God, the truth of His word, are facts that even Satan and his hosts cannot at heart deny. The Bible says that "the devils also believe, and tremble;" but this is not faith. James 2:19. Where there is not only a belief in God's word, but a submission of the will to Him; where the heart is yielded to Him, the affections fixed upon Him, there is faith--faith that works by love and purifies the soul.
MB.008.002 He bids you exchange your poverty for the riches of His grace. We are not worthy of God's love, but Christ, our surety, is worthy, and is abundantly able to save all who shall come unto Him. Whatever may have been your past experience, however discouraging your present circumstances, if you will come to Jesus just as you are, weak, helpless, and despairing, our compassionate Saviour will meet you a great way off, and will throw about you His arms of love and His robe of righteousness. He presents us to the Father clothed in the white raiment of His own character. He pleads before God in our behalf, saying: I have taken the sinner's place. Look not upon this wayward child, but look on Me.
RH.1904-07-07.004 In the lives of many of those whose names are on the church books there has been no genuine change. The truth has been kept in the outer court. There has been no genuine conversion….They profess to accept Christ as their Saviour, but they do not believe that he will give them power to overcome their sins. They have not a personal acquaintance with a living Saviour, and their characters reveal many blemishes.
DA.309.002 The greatest deception of the human mind in Christ's day was that a mere assent to the truth constitutes righteousness. In all human experience a theoretical knowledge of the truth has been proved to be insufficient for the saving of the soul. It does not bring forth the fruits of righteousness. A jealous regard for what is termed theological truth often accompanies a hatred of genuine truth as made manifest in life.
SC.051.001 You cannot atone for your past sins; you cannot change your heart and make yourself holy. But God promises to do all this for you through Christ.
SC.045.001 Do you feel that it is too great a sacrifice to yield all to Christ? Ask yourself the question, "What has Christ given for me?" The Son of God gave all--life and love and suffering--for our redemption. And can it be that we, the unworthy objects of so great love, will withhold our hearts from Him?
SC.046.001 But what do we give up, when we give all? A sin-polluted heart, for Jesus to purify, to cleanse by His own blood, and to save by His matchless love. And yet men think it hard to give up all! I am ashamed to hear it spoken of, ashamed to write it.
4T.189.002 Sometimes your fears have been aroused, but still you have never realized your wretched spiritual condition and absolute danger….You have had a surface work, but not that entire transformation which is necessary in order to bring you into acceptance with God.
DA.175.002 Not through controversy and discussion is the soul enlightened. We must look and live. Nicodemus…searched the Scriptures in a new way, not for the discussion of a theory, but in order to receive life for the soul. He began to see the kingdom of heaven as he submitted himself to the leading of the Holy Spirit.
RH.1885-09-01.013 Many are sensible of their great deficiency, and they read, and pray, and resolve, and yet make no progress. They seem to be powerless to resist temptation. The reason is, they do not go deep enough. They do not seek for a thorough conversion of the soul, that the streams which issue from it may be pure, and the deportment may testify that Christ reigns within.
3T.528.003 The religion of Christ is something more than talk. The righteousness of Christ consists in right actions and good works from pure, unselfish motives. Outside righteousness, while the inward adorning is wanting, will be of no avail.

MB.094.001 He who does not give himself wholly to God is under the control of another power, listening to another voice, whose suggestions are of an entirely different character. Half-and-half service places the human agent on the side of the enemy as a successful ally of the hosts of darkness.
3T.252.004 What greater deception can come upon human minds than a confidence that they are right when they are all wrong! The message of the True Witness finds the people of God in a sad deception, yet honest in that deception. They know not that their condition is deplorable in the sight of God. While those addressed are flattering themselves that they are in an exalted spiritual condition, the message of the True Witness breaks their security by the startling denunciation of their true condition of spiritual blindness, poverty, and wretchedness. The testimony, so cutting and severe, cannot be a mistake, for it is the True Witness who speaks, and His testimony must be correct.
RH.1894-08-07.003 …they may be crying, "The temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord are we," while their hearts are filled with unholy traffic and unrighteous barter. The courts of the soul-temple may be the haunt of envy, pride, passion, evil surmising, bitterness, and hollow formalism. Christ looks mournfully upon his professed people who feel rich and increased in the knowledge of the truth, and who are yet destitute of the truth in life and character and unconscious of their destitute condition.
EW.270.002 Some will not bear this straight testimony. They will rise up against it, and this is what will cause a shaking among God's people. I saw that the testimony of the True Witness has not been half heeded. The solemn testimony upon which the destiny of the church hangs has been lightly esteemed, if not entirely disregarded. This testimony must work deep repentance; all who truly receive it will obey it and be purified.
MB.093.002 Just where the conscience of the Christian warns him to forbear, to deny himself, to stop, just there the worldling steps over the line, to indulge his selfish propensities. On one side of the line is the self-denying follower of Christ; on the other side is the self-indulgent world lover, pandering to fashion, engaging in frivolity, and pampering himself in forbidden pleasure.
9T.187.004 May the Lord help us to die to self and be born again, that Christ may live in us, a living, active principle, a power that will keep us holy.
2SG.283.003 Sins exist in the church that God hates, but they are scarcely touched for fear of making enemies. Opposition has risen in the church to the plain testimony….if the wrongs of individuals are touched, they complain of severity, and sympathize with those in the wrong…they are ready to look with suspicion and doubt upon those who bear the plain testimony….
DA.300.003 We often sorrow because our evil deeds bring unpleasant consequences to ourselves; but this is not repentance. Real sorrow for sin is the result of the working of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit reveals the ingratitude of the heart that has slighted and grieved the Saviour, and brings us in contrition to the foot of the cross. By every sin Jesus is wounded afresh; and as we look upon Him whom we have pierced, we mourn for the sins that have brought anguish upon Him. Such mourning will lead to the renunciation of sin.
DA.175.005 If we do not resist this drawing, we shall be led to the foot of the cross in repentance for the sins that have crucified the Saviour. Then the Spirit of God through faith produces a new life in the soul. The thoughts and desires are brought into obedience to the will of Christ. The heart, the mind, are created anew in the image of Him who works in us to subdue all things to Himself.
RH.1881-03-08.006 The doctrine which teaches freedom, through grace, to break the law, is a fatal delusion. Every transgressor of God's law is a sinner, and none can be sanctified while living in known sin.
AA.299.001 The surrender must be complete. Every weak, doubting, struggling soul who yields fully to the Lord is placed in direct touch with agencies that enable him to overcome.
TM.441 Christ has not died for you that you may possess the passions, tastes, and habits of men of the world.
RH.1906-03-15.018 God's law is the transcript of his character, and those only who obey this law will be accepted by him. Every departure from obedience to the law of God is rebellion.
DA.555.006 No repentance is genuine that does not work reformation. The righteousness of Christ is not a cloak to cover unconfessed and unforsaken sin; it is a principle of life that transforms the character and controls the conduct. Holiness is wholeness for God; it is the entire surrender of heart and life to the indwelling of the principles of heaven.
COL.331.002 Let no one say, I cannot remedy my defects of character. If you come to this decision, you will certainly fail of obtaining everlasting life. The impossibility lies in your own will. If you will not, then you can not overcome. The real difficulty arises from the corruption of an unsanctified heart, and an unwillingness to submit to the control of God.
GC.472.003 Let none deceive themselves with the belief that they can become holy while willfully violating one of God’s requirements. The commission of a known sin silences the witnessing voice of the Spirit and separates the soul from God.
RH.1906-03-15.008 Christ came to this earth and lived a life of perfect obedience, that men and women, through his grace, might also live lives of perfect obedience. This is necessary to their salvation. Without holiness no man shall see the Lord.
2T.263.001 Some persons make their religious life a failure because they are always wavering and do not have determination. They are frequently convicted and come almost up to the point of surrendering all for God; but, failing to meet the point, they fall back again. While in this state the conscience is hardening and becoming less and less susceptible to the impressions of the Spirit of God. His Spirit has warned, has convicted, and has been disregarded, until it is nearly grieved away. God will not be trifled with. He shows duty clearly, and if there is a neglect to follow the light, it becomes darkness.
6T.092.002 Satan does not want anyone to see the necessity of an entire surrender to God. When the soul fails to make this surrender, sin is not forsaken; the appetites and passions are striving for the mastery; temptations confuse the conscience, so that true conversion does not take place.
YI.1900-01-04.001 We have little idea of the strength that would be ours if we would connect with the source of all strength. We fall into sin again and again, and think it must always be so. We cling to our infirmities as if they were something to be proud of.
RH.1891-04-21.008 We have slept too long; shall we sleep on, and be lost at last? Are there those here who have been sinning and repenting, sinning and repenting, and will they continue to do so till Christ shall come? May God help us that we may be truly united to Christ, the living vine, and bear fruit to the glory of God!

RH.1904-03-10.026 He who has not sufficient faith in Christ to believe that he can keep him from sinning, has not the faith that will give him an entrance into the kingdom of God.

“For there is NO distinction; since ALL have sinned and FALL short of the glory of God, they ARE justified by His grace as a gift, through which is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as an expiation by His blood, to be received by faith”. Romans 3, 23 RSV Catholic Edition
“All” would include believers YN. Your quote RH 1904 mimics exactly what you had previously in your signature, something about the Holy Spirit “keeping the repentant sinner from committing sin”. In the event this Scripture didn’t execute RH1904 (by the way what is RH1904?) this next one equates to cement shoes for it.
“And Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times should I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times? Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy seven times”. Matthew 18, 21 RSV Catholic Edition
“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the law? Jesus replied, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: “Love your neighbor as yourself”. All the law and prophets hang on these two commandments”. Matthew 22,36 RSV Catholic Edition
In other words, ALL FALL SHORT, even Saints. This is “perfect tense” so that means that you, me the Pope and Ellen white fall flat on our face and require the grace Jesus provides until we are granted access into the Holy City! To suggest otherwise is to run up to Christ and call him a liar.
RH 1904 & RH 1906 forcefully state a Christian who sins does not have “enough” faith in Christ as evidenced by the individual committing sin then further defines grace as that which keeps us from sin by allowing us to live in “perfect obedience”. This teaching is a Biblical Golem “IN MY VIEW” and certainly does not sync with Sacred Scripture “AS I UNDERSTAND IT”.
“If we claim we have not sinned, we make Him out to be a liar”. 1 John 1,10 RSV Catholic Edition
It's Bible. It's then SOP (which happens to be in agreement with the texts cited from the Bible). Yes, it is very good for those with eyes to see and ears to hear.
If this is your standard operating procedure, out of Christian love for my neighbor, I would humbly suggest throwing your current SOP manual away and come up with a new one. If I didn’t understand your SOP as you intended it then I openly apologize for any possible offense I may or may not have caused your sensibilities.

Jesus: "Why call ye me Lord, Lord, and do not the things that I say?"

In other words, ALL FALL SHORT, even Saints. ... require the grace Jesus provides until we are granted access into the Holy City! To suggest otherwise is to run up to Christ and call him a liar. You know not the difference between sins of unintention, also called sins of ignorance, and known-willful sins. (Feel free to start a thread on that.) A Christian may find himself in sins of unintention. That is dealt with in the sanctuary services - it is covered by Jesus. Sins of a willful, known character are of another nature.
At any rate, when grace finishes its work, it is finished. That happens before the coming of the Lord, before He leaves the sanctuary. See Rev. 22:11-12. Study the meaning of the word Gethsemane and what happened to Jesus there.
Sinners sinning will not enter "the Holy City." Again, see Rev. 22:11-12.
Angels who have never sinned, don't need grace.

focus should be here:PRE-CONVERSION
(THE NATURAL MAN)
Pre-conversion. A religious experience where the power of sin has not been broken. Christ is drawing the soul to a joyful, complete surrender. The person is being wooed toward conversion.
Pre-conversion, of course, means pre-Christian and is not included in the actual administration of the Sanctuary. The pre-conversion statements are about the person who wants to be a Christian; but has not stepped across the line into full surrender.

Matthew 6:24 "No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.
Matthew 10:37 "He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. 38 "And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.
Matthew 16:24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.
Matthew 18:3 and said, "Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.
Luke 6:45 …an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.
Luke 6:46 "But why do you call Me 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do the things which I say?
Luke 14:27 "And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple.
Luke 14:33 "… whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple.
Romans 3:10 As it is written: "There is none righteous, no, not one;
Romans 3:19 Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.
Romans 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight….
Romans 7:14 …I am carnal, sold under sin.
Romans 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death....

All have sinned. True. No problem, no contradiction. The contradiction is yours, as well as the absurd statement to tell the Savior from sin, "You are too weak to keep me from sinning." Jesus: "Go and sin no more." Pythons: "No, Lord." Jesus: "Why call ye me Lord, Lord, and do not the things that I say?"
RH 1906-03-15.008’s classification of “grace” CONTRASTS RH 1904-03-10.026 because the former defines grace as Slavic action through Christ while the later defines grace in action through “perfect obedience of the individual”. Frankly, to suggest there is no contradiction between the two procedures is both absurd & bizarre.
Sin has existed in man since Adam and will continue to exist until “we are made like the angels in heaven” in that sin will be finally destroyed. This is why the holy Apostle states: “continue to work out your salvation through fear and trembling” and why again the holy Apostle states that if we say we have NO SIN we make a mockery of Christ. Your standard operating procedure as I said, needs to be file 13’d.
An “unintentional” sin is a sin one is unconscious about, which Biblically, is not a sin of Nature. You will continue to CONSCIOUSLY sin throughout your life and the difference of those who are “IN CHRIST” determine in which eternal state a person will find himself in after the Particular Judgment. Because of the reality of original sin Christians are to do their best NOT to sin however to arrest the function of the Holy Spirit to say that it keeps us from sinning is patently false as the previous Scripture citations demonstrated. You don’t confess sins you are not conscious of committing YN. Your argument for the SOP demonstrates that the Bible comes second as you attempt to conform Scripture to the procedure instead of the other way around.
Jesus said "it is finnished" case closed. What did you think He meant? Poor little Jesus, all washed up and finished!

Sin has existed in man since Adam and will continue to exist until “we are made like the angels in heaven” .... Fatal deception that I will not fall for.
Revelation 22:11"(Pythons' theology) Let the one who does wrong, still do wrong; and the one who is filthy, still be filthy; and (Biblical theology) let the one who is righteous, still practice righteousness; and the one who is holy, still keep himself holy."
12"Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to what he has done.
Heb 9:28 so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time for salvation without reference to sin, to those who eagerly await Him.

...(I) will continue to CONSCIOUSLY sin throughout (my) life ...That is your problem, indeed.
Mark 9:23 " 'If you can'?" said Jesus. "Everything is possible for him who believes."
You don't believe, do you?
2 Cor 10:4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ
I invite you, dear reader, to get hold of the weapons of our (believers') warfare, not the wimpy weapons of unbelief.

Why the citations from RH-1906 & RH-1904 then?
