I seem to have lost my prayer book... I've been looking and looking. I've decided to just buy a new one, so that way, when I find my old one again, I can have one to use and one as a spare for when I'm away from home, but there are so many on the market these days I'm not sure what to get. Does anybody have recommendations?

I have the little Antiochian prayer book, and it's very cute and lovely, with all the daily prayers laid out and incidental prayers too (for the sick, etc). However, it's so little it seems to be easy to lose. ;)

I also have the Jordanville prayer book, and I love the inclusion of akathists and so forth, but it doesn't have those incidental prayers, and I really need those! :)

I have three: the Jordanville one, an Antiochian one and one that is from before the OCA was around that is in Slavonic and English.

I like both the Antiochian and the Slavonic ones.

I once heard an old saying that when you enter a Church, to check the altar to see if everything is laid out as it's supposed to be, the rubric books included. Perhaps the same order is due in our homes?
;)

p.s. I use Jordanville and it rocketh my heart out.

For my chrismation, my godmother gave me a couple of little ones that I LOVE! One is "occasional prayers" and the other is a book of hours, both about the size and shape of the little Antiochian book.
