Although sometimes it is really rough, I'm happy being at home with the kids. I look at it as an extremely important job, but also as my ministry. It is a tough job to raise children and to instill within them faith in the Lord.

I fantasized for years about going to Israel and being an archaeologist.. When I was young James Michener wrote a book called "Something of Value". Anyway I think that was the title and the idea has fascinated me ever since. Also a marine archaeologist.
Medicine has fascinated me to. I did some research work for a lawyer friend of mine years ago for malpractice litigations and it was fascinating. I even have the ER PC games.

I hear that, having been a single father for 17 years.
I had dreams of working in the television industry and did for several years. But it became clear that it wasn't what God had intended for me. Right now, I can't imagine doing anything else than what I'm doing. :amen:

Oh, hi everyone. Wondered where you all went. ;)
Hmm...what would I want to be when I grow up...assuming, of course, that I ever DO grow up...
When I was very young (8 or 9) I wanted nothing more than to be a Pastor. I remember telling Pastor that I wanted to be one when I grew up and he was so kind and gentle telling me that God had another plan for me. (Being a girl and all that) Then, once I hit confirmation, he started talking to me about becoming a Deaconess. I actually started college with that intention, but God showed me I had other things to do. Perhaps someday I'll get back into it.
So, I guess my answer would be, A Deaconess.

Let's see, since I was graduated from college, I have been a math/physics teacher, college teacher (math), Naval Intelligence Officer, pastor, college teacher (theology), analyst, pastoral mentor, writer,.... plus 9 years of post-graduate education.
What do I want to be when I grow up? Well, that would be when I am about 150 years old, or so. ;)
I would like to be a veterinarian (love animals), an architect (love design), full time writer, an electrician (provided I could rid myself of the arthritis), programmer....
How's that for a wish list?

I would have loved to persue an Architectural degree. Unfortuneately, it never happened. I still draw and design buildings for fun. My favourite period is Victorian, Queen Anne style.
Another thing I used to do and would love to have been able to make a living at is training Carriage horses. I dearly love horses. My people skills being what they are and the expense of the equipment... well, something else that didn't pan out.

I wanted to do a lot of things while growing up, but being an artist was always at the top, so that's what I did.
Something I would want to do but am just too bashful is I would love to sing professionally.
Other things from the past that I wanted to do: work with emotionally disturbed children, be an opera singer, be a writer, and when I was 7 I wanted to be a zookeeper!

I regret not having gone to college. I guess the one thing that I would have loved to do is mechanical engineering. I seem to have been given limited gifts in that area. I love making things. The one job I've had that I really loved was being a heavy truck mechanic. I had to give that up because of arthritus and back injuries. I miss the work, but I don't miss smelling like a truck.

On those who think writing may be the field for them. It is a full-time job. My wife is now on her fourth romance novel. She has 2 that will be published by cerridwin press by the end of this year. She is working with an agent to get the 3rd one published by a bigger publisher and is working on her fourth. She writes approximately 20+ pages per day which approximates to 8 hours or more depending on the other errands she has which include carpooling the kids to and from school and maybe working out at the gym at the Seminary.
The job won't pay until the books are published. Instead of an advance she will receive approximately 40% of sales from ebooks and if the sales are good she will see the book be published for sales in stores.
She also belongs to the Romance Writers of America (RWA) The Midwest Fiction Writers (MFW) and both the Wisconsin and Indiana writers groups in which she attends monthly meetings and will be attending the Wisconsin convention in June and the National conference in Dallas in July. She is very busy and she doesn't have another job to help out with finances. We are living solely on School grants and loans.

The first time I went to college, I wanted to be a history teacher. I also looked seriously into archeology. Unfortunately, I wasn't mature enough to leave home for college that first year and managed to lose my scholarship and get on academic probation, so that was that
(I learned my lesson and graduated magna cum laude 11 years later - kids let this be a lesson to you - finish school the first time when your parents are still willing and able to pay for some of it - they are not as inclined to continue paying for it if you drop out because not studying, spending time with your boyfriend, skipping classes and a vodka & orange juice habit put you on academic probation).
Some days I like being a paralegal because I get to use a little of every subject I learned in school, and some days, I so badly want to get out of it. I really don't know what I'd want to do. I have a degree in business, and I thought it would be cool to open a franchise of some sort, maybe. It's just I've done what I've been doing so long, and it pays pretty well, though we can afford for me to take a paycut. It's such a risk. Part of me still wants to get into teaching.
In my fourth try at college I learned that you are never too old to go for your degree.

I graduated high school in three years then went to a two year college... for three years. Wasn't put on AP because I withdrew my third semester. (Girlfriend at home and tooooo much partying was my downfall.) But when I went back the next year I made the Dean's list.
But it wasn't until I was 38 that I finally learned that an AAS degree isn't worth the paper it's written on, except to go towards a Bachelor's degree, which I needed to enter seminary. It's tough getting back into the acedemic mode once you've been out for nearly 20 years.

It's one of those things, where in the middle of the sinning, there was some really fun times, and both those fun times and learning from your sins have made you the person you are today - however, it would have been just so much easier in the long run to have put off some of those good times until the degree.
It's tough getting back into the academic mode once you've been out for nearly 20 years.
I got my BA through a non-traditional program through CUW, and in my late 20s, I was one of the youngest in the group. One of my favorite classmates was my mom's age by a few days.
I remember watching their struggles to balance going back to school after so many years, their studies, and their families. All I know is that the experience actually strengthened my marriage because I kept thanking God every day for a husband who was 110% behind me (he gave us a trip to Jamaica for my graduation present). I saw more than a couple people drop out of the program because some spouses and families couldn't handle the time needed for studying. It was quite disturbing. I couldn't get that. How can someone have a problem with their spouse trying to better themselves? It was just a 2 year program (give or take, I did it in 18 months), not like the rest of their lives.
At the same time, there were single parents with small children, or brand new parents, and they got through it with flying colors. I couldn't imagine doing it with children, especially small children. I really admired them.

The Pope, Billy Graham, and Oral Roberts were in a three-way plane crash over the Pacific Ocean. They all died and went to heaven together.
"Oh, this is terrible," exclaims St. Peter, "I know you guys think we summoned you here, but this is just one of those coincidences that happen. Since we weren't expecting you, your quarters just aren't ready... We can't take you in and we can't send you back...."
Then he got an idea. He picked up the phone, "Lucifer, this is Pete. Hey, I got these three guys up here. They're ours, but we weren't expecting them, and we gotta fix the place up for 'em. I was hoping you could put them up for a while. It'll only be a couple of days. What d'ya say?"
Reluctantly, the Devil agreed.
However, two days later, St. Peter got a call. "Pete, Lu. Hey, you gotta come get these three clowns.
This Pope fellow is forgiving everybody,
the Graham guy is saving everybody,
and that Oral Roberts has raised enough money to buy air conditioning."

And I did it raising three kids by myself. I have a whole new perspective on how single mothers (even married ones!) can juggle raising kids, keeping a home, having a fulltime job, and studying for a degree all at the same time. Some think that men don't get it, but this one sure does! :amen:
...and then pack everything up for a full-time seminary formation program and masters level study. I don't know how I survived! :help:

I wanted to join the Navy, like my uncle, or I wanted to be a singer, but I got married at 18 instead, to the boy I started dating when I was 15  .

Well, here goes...
I start this with a profound truth: "A coincidence is when God chooses to remain anonymous."
After I got out of college and the turmoil of the following years, my student loan went into default, which meant that I was no longer eligible for any other educational financing.
A few years ago my brother, who was in his late 40's at the time, went back to school at the local Community College and got a two year degree in Computer Science and eventually landed a great job with Adelphia Communications. He encouraged me to do the same thing, but when I applied, I couldn't get any financing because of the default on my record. So school was not an option.
Then something very strange happened. Shortly after this time, the firm that was handling my default attempted to take several thousand dollars out of my checking account, which only had about $300 in it. Needless to say my account was "slightly" overdrawn. This led to an arrangement for me to make payments on my default balance, which in turn led to my eligibility for student aid to be reinstated.
It was about this time that I began to think about seminary, but I only had a two year degree and needed a Bachelors to enter the sem program. After thinking about it for a bit it became extremely obvious that it would be near impossible to go back to school for two years to earn a BS or BA.
One day, while driving home from work, I was sitting at a red light. I looked up at this huge billboard advertising an adult degree completion program through the local Weslyan College. (I had stopped at that light almost every day and had never noticed that advertisement before.) The program was for adults who had a two year degree and had classes one night per week running 18 months to earn a BS in Management. So I looked into it and enrolled.
When I told my pastor that I was considering seminary and wanted to go to Fort Wayne (it was closer to home, besides I was not to keen on going into a mojor metropolitan city like St. Louis) he encouraged me to apply to both Ft Wayne and St Louis. He thought my being divorced would be an issue with Ft Wayne.
I was accepted at both, and still wanted to go to Ft Wayne, but they had no on campus housing. St Louis offered me an on campus apartment, but I couldn't afford the $500 security deposit, besides I hadn't decided that I was even going to go there.
The kids and I visited both campuses. Our reception at Ft Wayne was very cold (I never got to even see the admissions counselor), and the housing costs were too high for us. At St Louis our welcome was cery warm and we were informed that despite my not paying the security deposit, we still had an apartment reserved. We even got to tour our new digs while we visited the campus.
Wasn's a hard decision as to which seminary to go to. And we had a place to move into right away.
I leaned to love St Louis and I would go back there if I ever have the chance. (My oldest son still lives there.)
When time came to move, I wasn't sure how I was going to pay for the moving expense. But one night, at about 3am, my daughter woke me up and said she heard water running. I went out into the kitchen and found the water line that connect to the ice maker in the freezer had broken and flooded the kitchen and ruined the floor and much of the livingroom carpet. My dad held a homeowner policy on my house (which I didn't know about) and the settlement not only paid for the repairs, but there was enough left over to cover most of the moving cost. The church and our youth group had fundraisers to help us raise the rest.
The rest, as they say, is history.
Coincidences? I think not. :)

Well, got back from my weekend plus away. We returned to the last congregation my husband served for their 100th anniversary. It was very interesting. You see, those 10 years there were good and bad. There were people there stirring up troubles and seemed to have the thought that if they had a different Pastor, things would be better. Wrong!! I guess things got worse for a while. People left. (usually things that had little to do with our salvation).
The Pastor there now has been there around 2 years. It seems to be good for him. We understand that things are settling down. It was interesting hearing about the other Pastor's experiences there, the good and the bad. You see, this was the place where when hubby got a call, that he knew it was time to serve God better in another place.
Now, it was fun seeing people we had not seen in 8 years. Talking and catching up. It also felt weird being there, kind of like going home. (well it is the longest we had lived anywhere) There are many great people there and we know that God used everyone for His purpose while we were there.
So, my last few days was a trip down memory lane. Now I have to finish getting ready for graduation as it is Sunday.

Wonderful! Thankyou for a very badly needed laugh!:D
Kinda wet. Sure is crazy weather.
Yeah, three weeks ago it was in the upper seventies here. Then two weeks ago we had rain and snow on the ridge (about 1k feet above my house). Last week we got Noah's deluge, now it's eighty and thunderstorms. Very strange indeed.
The river was beautiful this afternoon. I turned onto the frontage road and stopped at the salmon viewing circle. The river is channeled there by a diversion dam. The water was running in the spillway at a rate of about six feet high, water the colour of pale jade wreathed in foam. Spectacular. Wished I had a digi camera. Funny how something can be so beautiful and a little scary at the same time.
Yeah, writing a story can take a real chunk of time. One that I sat down for, took me two sessions of eighteen hours each. I had to finish it before forgetting the storyline. See, it had come to me in a dream. Still didn't get the ending right and I really need to flesh out the story. Maybe someday I'll finish it... To hone my skills, I started looking around for a venue. What I came across was Mugglenet. It's the website for the Harry Potter fans (yes, yes, I know...), not my first choice, but what the hey? I gave it a try and ended up being blacklisted for Hermione teaching Dudley Dursley to pray the Lord's prayer. My what a stink! Still, they taught me a lot about dialog and grammattical structure. After a while though, I felt that Harry was taking way too much of my time. After the tome I was writing hit six hundred pages (and still not done) I felt that Harry's time was up. That's when I found this site. Now my time is much better spent.

I think seajoy is right. The big thing colleges require all classes and disciplines to teach is critical thinking. That doesn't mean someone who hasn't had college can't do that - a couple of my paralegal mentors don't have a degree, but they became paralegals in the early 1980s when it wasn't a degree field, so everywhere they go, they are grandfathered in because of their vast experience. They have good critical thinking skills. However, now, you know the person has a certain amount of it, if they have the piece of paper, because of how much it's pushed. It's just a guess, someone may disagree.
A lot of fields are like that about the bachelor's - in what I do, they want a bachelor's but don't care what it's in as long as you at least have a certificate (or in my case, an AAS) in the field. Some places will just take the AAS, but then I would always be limited - mostly to plaintiff firms, as defense firms usually demand a bachelor's, which is funny because defense firms don't necessarily pay more. This way, I qualify to work in every law firm that practices the area I'm most familiar with, so if I want to go to the dark (defense) side, I can. Even though there were quite a few BS completion programs in paralegal studies, or pre-law, I got a business degree instead in case I am able to get out of it and do something else.
Now why does seminary require a bachelor's? I find the best pastor's have a well rounded knowledge base, not just in theology. Gives them a lot to draw on in forming sermons. The critical thinking skills can't hurt either.

Way out in southwest Nebraska, south of North Platte. We are now in northcentral Iowa. My mominlaw lives in Omaha. We find that taking Highway 30 northeast is the best route so we get off of 29 at Mo Valley.

Can anyone tell me why it's necessary for a seminary student to have a Bachelor's degree? Especially since the school seemingly, couldn't care less what that degree is in???
If you'll forgive me, it sounds like academic snobbery.
In order to earn a Masters degree, one must first have a Bachelor's degree. You need to be able to work at that academic level.
There are certain requirements that must be met in order to enroll in the MDiv program. Many Bachelor programs do have similar requirements, especially if its from a Christian college. Plus, the seminary offers certain "pre-sem" courses that must be satisfactorily completed in order to be able to take any MDiv course work.
There are also other seminary programs that don't necessarily require a Bachelor's degree, but the requirements are much different, and they are not Master's level study. There is no degree given.

One might ask, if there is no degree given for the work, why enter into that field of study. As human beings we work for something and if we are giving our money to an institution we want proof that our education was worth the money we paid for it.

Which is why I'm not a fan of the Alternate Route or DELTO programs. I mean, who is it that dictates why some need the full academic program to be a parish pastor and why others don't need that study. I've never been able to understand how a pastor is to be able to apply the Old Testament to his preaching and bible study if he never studies it in Hebrew (which is not required for the AR certification). And DELTO has changed their requirements a few times since I first looked into it. I have no idea what the academic requirements are for that anymore.

I believe the AR program allows for the student to trade 10 years of church involvement (Usher, Elder, Sunday School teacher, President of congregation etc.) for one year of academic training which means that they have 3 years left and of those 3 years, one is a vicarage.
I have met a few guys here at FW that are on the AR program and they are nice guys, but will their education be adequate?
As for DELTO, I agree 100% with your analysis. I have heard of people in that program (Clyde Awtrey from WRM) and I wouldn't want to be in his church if he was pastor. I know from some of the Professors here that they are still tinkering with this program and there may be a major restructuring in the next couple of years.
AR still gets something out of the deal, but not an MDIV.

A friend of mine from high school and I e-mail occasionally and she has begged me to read Gone With The Wind so we can have online discussions about it.
Ok, so I checked the book out from the library and started reading this this afternoon. Near the beginning of the book, Scarlett's mother Ellen has to go to a neighbor's house...here's a few lines and I think you guys will appreciate it:
"Mr. O'Hara, there is illness at the Slattery house. Emmie's baby has been born and is dying and must be baptized. I am going there with Mammy to see what I can do."
Out of the blue, here I am reading about babies needing baptizing where I least expected it :)

Unless it has changed, a student must be sponsored by a congregation that has an extraordinary need for pastoral care, such as if the congregation would not be able to continue with out it. The student then serves that congregation while he is undergoing his course work. He is assigned a mentor, a local pastor to serve as a "teacher" of sorts, to oversee the training. The student must also spend a certain amount of time at the seminary for sourse work and such, usually in one or two week stints. DELTO is normally five years and at the completion the student is then ordained and installed as pastor of the congregation he is serving. He would also be expected to serve as a "worker priest" since the congregation would not be able to afford to pay a regular pastor.
It was not intended as a substitute for semianry formation, but I have no idea how it works anymore.

Then that has changed since I looked into it. It was a requirement to have 10 years of professional church work - rostered teacher, DCE, DCO, licensed deacon, etc. I have no idea how being an usher for 10 years equates to Old Testament exegesis.

I am getting stuff down, slow but sure. Hubby has a wedding Saturday so he is no help around here. The Grad should be able to help during the day Friday.

My husband and I got a chance to meet someone last evening. He came to our home to sell us stuff in our remodling project. We both liked him, so we made our purchase from him. After that was finished, we got to talking.....this man is 39yrs old, and has had cancer 3 times in 7yrs. He told us the first time he had it he cursed God and refused to go to church anymore. He wouldn't speak to anyone. Now, he says he is back in church, trusting God to take care of things for he and his family. When we said we would pray for him, he took both our hands in his....he was so grateful. You could see the miracle of faith God has worked in him right in his eyes. What a blessing to know he was a brother in Christ.

We're celebrating life today. One year anniversary of the day little Tiger was diagnosed with leukemia. He's a happy camper. Our neighbor promised to teach him to play baseball next week after we get home from Tiger's doctor appointment.

We all give thanks and praise to our Lord and God for the joys that you share. And we continue to pray that His comforting presence be with you, and that He may strengthen Tiger both physically and spiritually, and yourselves as well. May His healing hand continue to be upon him and bless him.
In Jesus' precious Name, Amen. :crossrc:

Mind if I jump in with what I wanted to be when I grew up?
I wanted to join the Navy, like my uncle, or I wanted to be a singer, but I got married at 18 instead, to the boy I started dating when I was 15  .
26 1/2 years later...here we are, still walking through life together :) . Our babies are now 24 & 22.
I was accepted into nursing school about 17 years ago, but could not attend because of depression/anxiety problems. All my friends graduated from college. I've always felt kind of bad that I didn't.
Please don't say...but you still could. No I can't, it wasn't meant to be. But that's ok, God had other plans for me :) .
I completely understand. I alos never went to college and still regret it (I've probably mentioned this before as it really bothers me )
But I also have to think that life is more then us realizing our dreams of education and employment. I don't regte my life as its been pretty good. I have been given gifts that lost of folks could only dream of having, so how can that measure up to failure? And, I have a whole brand new life to look forward to

My back hurts.
About once every year or so, something happens with my low back and I'll be in excruciating pain for days. Last Summer, I actually missed work because of it. This one has been going on a couple weeks - not enough to want to miss work, but enough to be really annoying.
It's my own fault. I'm not in the best of shape, so the muscles there are weak. I am exercising more, but apparently not enough. I am going to a chiropractor, which is helping.
On top of it all, we have new law clerks coming in next week and there's not enough room, so yesterday, we had to clean out our war room to make room for the new clerks, which meant many heavy boxes being moved. Not a lot of men around, and dollys and carts can only do so much. Thankfully, the back doesn't feel worse than before. I have to do some lifting today, but not as much as yesterday.
I'm going to have company coming over tomorrow and the house still needs to be cleaned up. I'm scared I'll be in too much pain. I am seeing the chiropractor tonight after work. Hope it doesn't hurt worse afterwards like it did Wednesday.
Thanks for letting me vent.

Thanks everyone for the prayers. Tiger has a chemotherapy treatment Monday, if his blood counts are OK. He doesn't like back treatments, but he gets to go to the doctor's toy cupboard after to pick out a prize and that's the part he remembers afterward.:) He has one every 3 months. The other months he gets chemo through an IV and he doesn't realize they've done anything different than what they do when they take blood. Anyway, he gets to visit his special friends, the staff at the Ronald McDonald House.
Pray also that he recovers from his cold. It can be scary when he gets sick. Healthy kids catch something and might miss a day or two of school. If Tiger gets a fever, we have to call the doctor and he spends 3 or more days in the hospital. The worst is over, though. The first few months he went to the doctor every week. Now, he's in the maintenance phase and he has to go only once a month. He has the form of leukemia that's easiest to treat, although there isn't anything easy about the treatment. There's a 90% success rate. I am so thankful that God gave the doctors and medical researchers the ability to discover a treatment.
I don't know what I would have done without faith. I started reading the Bible and praying a lot more. I really had to "let go and let God". There wasn't anything else I could do. I know that God placed him with us for a reason.

I haven't been coming here for long. That said... It seems to me that the biggest agitators here are the ones without a denominational indicator. It says "Christian". These people can float around and seemingly say whatever they wish to whichever audience they wish. The rest of us are then condemmed for defending our faith. It's a true pity that a rabble rouser can be so coddled by the staff and allowed to make depreciating remarks and the people defending themselves are diciplined. I won't name any names, wouldn't want to embarrass Willy. Oops!:o
I've been working on moving and cleaning all day. Hayfever medicine made this a major struggle. Oi, vay! As for getting a call from my youngest, to whom I was both mother and father, I don't hear from him on my birthday, father's day, Christmas, Easter or any other day of the year. Rarely from the other three either. So why should Sunday have been any different.:sigh:

Hey there - I haven't even been here this weekend! I though I was bad about blanket statements. :sigh:
This weekend, I actually did what most healthy people without messageboard addictions were doing, spending time with my family and friends. Maybe if the board is getting to be too much you and others should try doing the same. It's good therapy. Trust me, I know.
I also have the Christian icon because I am a Christian first. I prefer to look to the Cross before a Lutheran rose. If we could have two icons, my second would be the Lutheran one.

Some folks don't have the blessings of family around them, and message boards can fill that gap at times. I've found my Christian friends here to be of great comfort to me many times, I hope I have been to them as well.
There are times also, when the forum can get a bit too hot. I think our mods do their best to try and keep it cooled down.

Synger, I had no intention to include you in the troublemaker's group. Perhaps it would be easier to have preceeded the statement with the cavaet 'sometimes it seems that some people...' but then, 'it often seems that,' would work too. Still, we get people with non-denom indicators who don't belong here and without an indicator, how are we to tell who those people are? Rules are rules and this forum seems to be very strict on them from time to time. I'm not the type who runs to mommy for help (or the Mods for that matter), nor will I hesitate to defend my faith and views either. And yes, I do put my foot in it from time to time.

Didn't know that was a requirement to have a Lutheran icon to identify someone as "belonging here"...
It used to be that public confession was what counted... ya know, "back in the day". :D

Oops! Sorry, posted before paging. Again, Congrats, Rev.
There's no rule that says a Lutheran has to have a Lutheran icon. I just believe I'm a Christian first and Lutheran second. Part of my issue is that I'm just anti-icon, period, and it's my problem, not the rest of yours.
Even though it really doesn't matter now because I wasn't there, I can also assure you for future reference that I don't run to the mods either. I get mad, complain on the open board, stomp my foot, throw a tantrum, leave for awhile and/or sulk, but I've never reported anyone and I don't plan on ever doing so either. Been accused of it a few times, but never done it. I just don't believe in it.
Someone would have to look like a child predator or something equally as bad and disturbing for me to ever hit the report button, and even then after a lot of thinking and praying about it and maybe getting others' opinions to make sure I'm not imagining things.
Mods have enough to do without having to deal with tattle-tales.

Somewhere on the net I read something from a pastor that he described himself as a Lutheran Christian. Lutheran being the adjective and Christian being the noun. Makes sense to me.

Tiger had a great report at the doctor's office today. His blood counts were great, the highest they have been in ages. His chemo treatment went smoothly too. Thank you all for your prayers. And most of all, thanks be to our Lord for all the blessings He has heaped on this little boy.

Oh my, been off for the day and I come back to all sorts of news.
DaRev, Congrats on the grandson! We can tell you are a proud grandpa.
latebloomer, I love hearing of good doctor reports. Just what those of us with cancer like to have.
Oh, yeah, please pour me a glass of that wine! It has been a long day. One of my exchange students has been wayward again. So close to the end of the school year, yet no proof, lots of kids talking. Her host mom wanted her out and so she is with me right now.

Helpy-selfy. Not so healthy on the teeth, but much healthier on the lungs! :D And they smell better, too.

I hope to. That's an issue, though, because mom's family are not church goers. :sigh:

*looks around, confused* Me? Am I in the Troublemaker group again?
I don't mind, usually... so long as I know why.
*re-reads her recent posts to try to figure out what Stude's talking about*
What I'm talking about has nothing to do with any of you. I wasn't singling any of the regulars out. It's just we have these visitors from time to time that cause trouble, for instance: Willy.
I think he was talking to me - I don't have a Lutheran icon and he was saying that the troublemakers were the Lutherans who don't have a Lutheran icon.
Cept I can't get blamed this time. I wasn't even here.
At this point, I'm so confused by all the responses I don't know exactly whom I really was talking to.
Didn't know that was a requirement to have a Lutheran icon to identify someone as "belonging here"...
It used to be that public confession was what counted... ya know, "back in the day".
Anyway, I hope I am not a trouble-maker. Perhaps I'll leave for a while to make sure.
In Christ's love,

Oh please! I can't believe you're that thin-skinned that you would take offense at a remark not even aimed at you!
To the point of my complaint though, we did disagree sharply some weeks ago, and I was questioning if you were Lutheran. Ed had to inform me that you were indeed in the right for
