Hi all, I posted this in the wrong section this morning and have finally found the correct section.
Seeing as this is about pets, I cannot resist telling you about Fang. Fang was my son's cat. I took care of him for 7 years while my son finished college, waited to get into Officer's training with the USAF, graduated OTS, met a female officer, got married and was sent over seas. It is about my son going overseas I want to tell you about.
My son was sent over just before Christmas 2001. He was stationed in Texas and I lived in Virginia. I remember the first night this happened. I was sitting at my computer. Fang came up to me, meowed, hit my ankle with his paw. I looked down at him and asked, "what do you want?" Fang turned around and walked up the stairs, stopping in front of the door to what had been my son's bedroom. I opened the door as I said, "You want to sleep in here." It did not take long for me to notice that every night Fang was in the house(he was an indoor/outdoor cat) he wanted to sleep in my son's old bedroom. My son was overseas 3 months. When he came back to the US-to Texas, Fang did not go to sleep in his room. My son went overseas 2 other times while I lived in VA and each time Fang would go up to his room to sleep. When my son returned to Texas, Fang stopped sleeping in his room. This really amazed me. How did he know my son, his master and the Big Boy, was not in the USA?? Maybe he understood me when I would tell him, "Fang, the Big Boy is going overseas. We need to pray for him." When he returned to the USA, I would tell Fang, "The Big Boy has returned to the USA. God has taken care of him."
When I moved out of VA to NV I sent Fang to my son in Texas. At Thanksgiving 2005 he was put to sleep because of cancer. I never thought I would miss that cat and want to cry over him. But right now as I am writing about him, tears are coming to my eyes. He was an exceptional cat.
