I was just chatting with Colabomb about Terry Pratchett's Discworld series, as he was unfamiliar with it. It got me wondering who else here might read his stuff.

I love his writing. My dh and I both read his books. Love the satire. Love his obscure humour.

I hope I'm not alone.

I have read every one of the Discworld books, most more than once. He's my favorite author.

I just finished Monstrous Regiment a week or so ago.
Before that I think I read Going Postal - there might have been one in the middle of that somewhere - something from earlier.
I loved Going Postal - as an ex govt worker it was highly entertaining.

Chalk up another fan of Terry! :)
But I must say, he comes second to Douglas Adams!:P

I read all the early ones, but after a while I found they were too much the same, with the same jokes repeated over and over, and stopped bothering.

I do enjoy Douglas Adams also, but he hasn't quite the volume of works that Terry Pratchett has - but maybe that's why he has the same jokes a lot.
I guess like a good comedy, I don't mind the same jokes in a different way. I just keep coming back for more.

Terry Pratchett is superb. We have the complete works apart from the latest. Monstrous Regiment wasn't superb--my three favourites of the recent ones have been: "Thud!" "Going Postal" and "The Truth." :)

I prefer the Hitchhiker's guide radio (which I have the complete on my ipod) to reading Douglas Adams.

My favourite comedy writer has to be Adrian Plass though. :)

My other half is a major fan of Adrian Plass.

What didn't you like about Monstrous Regiment - I found it quite intriguing?

I haven't been able to get Thud yet, but I thoroughly enjoyed Going Postal.

I've read Small Gods.
It was entertaining, but not my favorite.

I recently began Good Omens which was co-authored with Neil Gaiman. It is a great read so far.
