I've got another question for y'all. Everybody needs some down time, some time for rest and recreation (re-create- shun get it??). ;) But when we do get away for a vacation, we come home sometimes more tired than when we left. I have said myself that I had to go back to work to get some rest. What is your idea of good Christian things to do, places to go? What do you do on vacation? Have any of you gone on like private retreat or something similar?

There was a study done about people going on vacation that they don't actually "leave" the office until the 2nd or 3rd day of their vacation. I know some type A people (like me) always need to be busy and don't know how to relax in the conventional sense of the word. That can conflict with other members of the family who relax in a different way.
When I was a teen, my family would go on vacation to a place like Destin, Florida and each member (there were four of us) would have a day that we could decide what to do. Some days we would lay on the beach and do next to nothing. Other days we would watch a movie or go-carts or putt putt.
I think what you will need to do before going on a vacation is find out what relaxes you. For me, it's getting a massage or a mani-pedi or it's going to an amusement park and just walking around having the entertainment lined up for me to just take in.
There is a good little book by Lois Levy called Undress your Stress. It goes through a lot of cheap ways to de-stress.
So basically, just find what de-stresses you and make it a point to spend so time doing that. You could go on a retreat into the mountains or on a beach and it might not de-stress you. Anyway, hope that was helpful.

mrconstance and I just went on a 1-week retreat. We made sure the house was spotless before we left, dropped the kid and pets off at grandma's and had an amazing time.

:)

When we got back all we had to do was laundry.

Sounds great. What kinds of things did you do on retreat. No offense Homie but Disneyworld would just wear me out! I've heard from other folks that it was an incredible experience for them.
