In the following reading, we have a model of as the true church of the Lord develops.
It is not an institution but a group of men who are in permanent comunicacịn with God and theLord, we see as the Lord directs and makes the decisions who soon the apostles accept their instructions and they put them in practices, this happened in the past and this happening again in this time, is the Lord who this building its church is the head and it does not have substitute.
Meditate calmly what the understanding reads and asks the Lord

Acts 12
24 But the word of God continued to spread and grow. 25 After Barnabas and Saul completed their relief mission, they returned to Jerusalem, 6 (http://www.christianforums.com/#foot6) taking with them John, who is called Mark.Acts 13
1 1 (http://www.christianforums.com/#foot1) Now there were in the church at Antioch prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Symeon who was called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen who was a close friend of Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. 2 While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the holy Spirit said, "Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them." 3 Then, completing their fasting and prayer, they laid hands on them and sent them off. 4 2 (http://www.christianforums.com/#foot2) So they, sent forth by the holy Spirit, went down to Seleucia and from there sailed to Cyprus. 5 When they arrived in Salamis, they proclaimed the word of God in the Jewish synagogues. They had John 3 (http://www.christianforums.com/#foot3) also as their assistant.
Consider that They was sent by the Holy Spirit and not by men

1Co 3:5 Who, then, is Paul, and who Apollos, but ministrants through whom ye did believe, and to each as the Lord gave?
1Co 3:6 I planted, Apollos watered, but God was giving growth;
1Co 3:7 so that neither is he who is planting anything, nor he who is watering, but He who is giving growth--God;
1Co 3:8 and he who is planting and he who is watering are one, and each his own reward shall receive, according to his own labour,
1Co 3:9 for of God we are fellow-workmen; God's tillage, God's building ye are.
1Co 3:10 According to the grace of God that was given to me, as a wise master-builder, a foundation I have laid, and another doth build on it ,
1Co 3:11 for other foundation no one is able to lay except that which is laid, which is Jesus the Christ;
1Co 3:12 and if any one doth build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw--
1Co 3:13 of each the work shall become manifest, for the day shall declare it , because in fire it is revealed, and the work of each, what kind it is, the fire shall prove;
1Co 3:14 if of any one the work doth remain that he built on it , a wage he shall receive;
1Co 3:15 if of any the work is burned up, he shall suffer loss; and himself shall be saved, but so as through fire.

We have work (building) to do. It is His call, His cause, His strength, etc and expecially His glory, that matters.
