We must remember that men and women of God for two thousand years have been becoming brothers, sisters and mothers of Jesus by debating the principles of God. Debates are not only for the ones in the debate but also for all who are listening. It's not what we believe that makes things happen, it's what God said that we believe that makes things happen. Keep in mind that we are all in a progression towards God, we begin with what we believe, what we learned in church, what our parents taught us, what we saw on television, etc. some of which is true and some of which is not true. Remember when we start out seeking God in our lives some of our understandings are incorrect. Don't be deceived by earthly wisdom, the wisdom of God is not the same, earthly wisdom tells us if millions of people are going in a certain direction that is the right way to go, Jesus said it's a narrow path and there are few people upon it. There is no safety in numbers. If your walk with Christ has not alienated almost everyone you know, almost everyone you are related to, almost everyone in your home town then perhaps you are not yet where Christ wants you to be. Jesus said John 14:26 "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you." ----- The Spirit Of God is the Spirit of Wisdom and the Spirit of Truth. The more scriptural truth we have the more we become like Him. Jesus said basically that if you have seen, understood or perceived Him that you have seen understood and perceived the Father. Jesus said "I and the Father are one" same understandings, teaching, mind. And we should be like Him.....Matthew 12:50 "For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother." Can you tell us something that you originally believed was true that the Holy Spirit has changed your understanding???????

It is true that to be a true follower of Christ you are at enmity with the world and your own soulish self. It hurts my heart when I disappoint people, by following the scriptures - for example not partying, not accepting homosexuality as a life style choice, dressing modestly, etc. etc.

I used to believe if God did not answer prayer, either I was not believing hard enough or He did not exist. I learned that to walk in faith is to trust Him and lean not to your own understanding. That's hard to do when bad things are happening around you. It's also difficult to recognize that even though he seems not to hear, God still wants to bless you, but in ways you can't imagine or even hope for.

I've changed my thinking on many things throughout the years as I've studied the Scriptures by looking at the original words and comparing Scripture with Scripture. I know enough by now to see that our carnal minds have made a mess out of "christianity."

By the way, I've enjoyed reading some of your posts brother. God bless you.

Although God wants us to follow Him by the narrow path and to stay true to Him, he also wants us to be a light to the world. So we must balance those two realities and on one hand not be of the world but on the other hand be an example to those who are of the world.

The way I do this is I have an apartment in my house which I rent out to unsuspecting people. I invite them to eat with us and get to know them and bring them to Christ. My family loves them to Christ.

My MIL hates that I'm a Christian but I still witness to her (very gently). My FIL isn't much better and I'm working on him too. They refuse to have me talk about Christianity but I get my kids to say prayers before meals....lol my secret weapons. If I wasn't sensitive I would have damaged the relationship beyond repair but as it is now I still have the ability to bring a little light into their lives.

In Him,

You are on the right track taking nothing for face value. Searching the scriptures to find more and more ways to obey Him, constantly thinking of Him and His ways. Reminding yourself daily that you are in the same movement that everyone in the bible was in. Oh that we should be like Him, crying out day and night show me more of you, make me more like you, more of thee less of me. Not stopping till we live like Him, talk like Him, believe like Him, then and only then will you begin looking like him and people around you will for the first time in their lives see Him...in you....you will hear them whispering as they pass you..."I THOUGHT I SAW JESUS".....

In Him,
The hardest people to bring to Christ are those nearest to us. This may sound hard but don't spend any more time converting your family members than perfect strangers. Jesus didn't and most of His immediate family didn't believe in Him for most of His ministry. Your mother, father, sister, and brother are those who will do God's will....
