I just had a well meaning Christian friend tell me that getting away for the week-end without the kids was Worldly and NOT pleasing to God. She said we'd have plenty of time alone when the kids were grown and moved out. What do you think? I'd appreciate the insights, as I see nothing biblically wrong with it.
Thanks!

I agree with Aymn27 -
God wants your marriage to be strong, and he knows that parents need breaks - which is what grandparents, neighbours and good friends are there for! You do need time to re-connect with your spouse, or else when the time comes that the children are grown, you might find that you've drifted apart and hardly know each other!

Yes, you deffently have to be alone with Hubby sometime. Your Friends advise is not very wise. because when you come back you will be refreshed and cope so much better.
So go and have a great time together,

the best thing for kids is for mum and dad to love one another.
I would say that not only is it ok, it is important for husband and wife to have time alone together. And it is good for your kids.
Have a great time.

You guys have just confirmed what I believe.:amen:
I just wanted some more input before I emailed her back.
I think this could get into some scripture debate, but I can't really find backing either way.
Thanks so much for your input!

What the others said.
For heaven's sake, even GOD rested from his work! :)
May your time be full of fun, relaxation and restoration.

Reminds me of a quote I read a year or so ago:
"The best thing you can do for your children, is love their mother."
