I've heard that Environmental Science is a good degree to have, though. I can understand wanting to find out how things work - that's why I did my first degree in Biology. It's tough finding the 'suitable regular full time job' without a degree nowadays, that's the rub. It will be worth it in the end, I'm sure! Persevere! :)
Yeah. I get this really. Just so hard
Im just torn.

How much time can you give to your Karate at the moment, and still keep up with studying?
I mean, I think being able to do your Karate is important!

Environmental science - but im begining to realise maybe im not cut out for science.
Or at least degree level science. It's annoying, i have this curiousity in me on finding out how things work - i keep wanting to know. Every time i try to forget about it thinking i can't do it, the drive compels me back to studying it, thinking about it all. I even study karate and like to think about how it all works.
Im not cut out for a degree because i have little organisational skills or concentration.
You know what i want now? A full time job with suitable regular (dayshift) hours so that i can do my karate. Job and karate (and someone to spend my life with), its all i want. :sigh:
Aww Poor Louie.
Things will work out don't worry.

Its good cos well it helps me.
Erm helps me physically and mentally and its like an outlet really. So i think its important to do even if i study - allows me to forget about the rest.
Study is important but so is my outlet - i dont really have any other hobbies really and not too much time is given to teh karate also it allows me to socialise, im not a very big socialiser, in fact not much. However if it interferes with my studies i'll ease on it. Oh i wont stop attending, just wont go for the grading. Don't think that'll happen though :)

Good morning everyone!
It is s lovely Saturday morning here. Everyone is asleep and the house is quiet. There is a gentle rain falling and an occasional soft rumble of far off thunder. I am sitting in my most comfortable chair, surfing the net and sipping a cup of great espresso.
Soon, people will start to stir around and we will begin our Saturday routine but for now my avatar says it all......

Greetings to you all.
I have decided, after a very long absence, to come back.
As my first officially act, I ask Andy to take my crown and rest it upon my successor, who I name now: SirTimothy. He is your new king and I shall retire the thrown unto him.
Andy, by all means, please cook for us a feast to celebrate the crowning of a new king. Whatever his majesty orders of course, though if I am allowed a last request, I'd like my old favorite: a 20 oz prime rib stuffed with garlic and packed with sea salt with a side of steamed brussel's sprouts, a high-fiber backed potato with butter and pepper, and a large frosty mug of IBC rootbeer.

:o :swoon:
:sorry:  Hooray!!!
So glad you are back!!!
May I be the first in the Alehouse to say Welcome Back!

Actually, I was on a journey: I've since moved from New York to South Carolina, and will hopefully be attending Graduate School starting this summer. If all goes well, I'll graduate in roughly a year from now with a shiny new Master's Degree in History as well as a Secondary Education Certification.
Oh, and SirTimothy isn't just King of the Alehouse...he's King of STR :)

What is a Q?
A Q is a member of a fictional alien species from the television series "Star Trek: The Next Generation", "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine", and "Star Trek: Voyager". In addition to being the name of their species as a whole, it also the specific individual name of each member of the species. The species is very advanced with demonstrated abilities such as being able to blink in and of existence across galaxies, move planets from their orbits, and so forth to the point where some (probably falsely, but not demonstrably so in the episodes I've seen) claim to be omnipotent.
The best known Q is the one portrayed famously in many episodes of the the three series by actor John DeLancie. He was a popular foil for the Enterprise crew, and was a fan favorite since, despite his often villainous nature, he displayed a few good sense of humor, a strong sense of charisma, and was often very entertaining to watch.

However, 'tis not for the King to choose his successor.
Now now...his new kingship has proclaimed me his Q-advisor! And I have alllll the powers of the Q Qtinuum at my disposal. I assure you, SirTimothy is your new benevolent king.
The King has entrusted the office of kingship into my hands, and in the long tradition of the bards of old, I shall give careful consideration before selecting the new King/Queen.
This naturally precludes me from the role.
I never gave you such authority. Besides, before the Royal Chef was the rest of the monarchical family. After me, AveMaria, my former queen, was in line though she disappeared, followed by my son, Benedictine, who apostated so was no longer eligable for the thrown. And after him, there was actually, right before you, the Queen Mum, Pam. By all rights, she was your monarch (and you're first woman monarch) while I was away.
Since I have returned, the kingship automatically returned to me, and in my last act as king, I named my new heir, SirTimothy, to be the new king. It is up to him and only him to declare the ranks and roles of the STR Kingdom.
I, as I said before, hold the new office of Q-Advisor. And as a Q, I can turn you into a pastrami sandwhich with lettus, dill pickles, and soy sauce with pita bread in a blink of an eye. So, please, defend your new sovereign lord well...he was my favorite of the three heirs I had (the third apostated too :().

My liege, as your official advisor, I suggest the following persons as your new Court:
You have already designated Karen as Court Ordinand, a worthy choice.
I would request that you keep Pam as Queen Mum, as she does the job oh so well.
As for royal chef, so long as he behaves himself, Andy is, I assure you, an excellent choice.
For Court Theologian, I suggest Polycarp1.
For Jester, keep Colabomb.
For Court Priest, I would suggest Father Rick.
For your queen, however, that is someone you must find on your own :P
